- We are extremely excited to have a wood stove in the house. Because we have an endless supply of wood on the property, we will be heating our home for free. We had a lot of fun completing this project and learned a lot along the way!

a great fire starter paper egg carton stuff dryer fluff and pour old candle wax over it then as you need a starter just break a piece off light and place kindling over it.

We had a small wood burner and put fire brick on the stoves inside floor and sides to protect the metal from overheating and add a bit of thermal mass. It seems to hold at a more consistent temperature this way.
