My dad had dementia and when he was in hospital there was a man in the room opposite called paddy reilly. My dad talked about this song and we used to listen to it all the time. He died last year and listening to it reminds me of him. I'd say I'm probably about 300 of those views 😂
Rip to your mother my mother sang many a song to us all at sleeping time but this song i left for myself and it makes me proud to be irish and cavan man god bless to all your family
This was one of my mum's favourite songs. I would even hear her singing it in bed! She passed away yesterday, and I wll always think of that sweet little irish lady when I hear this. RIP, mother.
I feel an affinity to Ireland given that my great, great grandad apparently was a loyalist, protestant Irishman that moved to England and ended up marrying a catholic ironically, who must have been my great, great grandma. im still proud of my Irish roots even when I'm an Englishman who the Irish hate.
Man, this awakens my Irish-American soul. I couldn't be more proud of my Irish blood. Thank you, Paddy Reilly and Ballyjamesduff.
I had always loved Irish music, it calm my soul
