MJF got carried out on a stretcher at the PPV and Dave had the nerve to say “MJF didn’t even sell anything Wardlow gave him.”
@☁POPULATION-_-420🌿 Yeah. If that what he was referencing, he has a point. I was kind of surprised Jim didn’t criticize his lack of selling for the powerbombs during his “pipe bomb” promo. That’s always a nitpick of his. Properly selling damage and continuity. He could have come out with a neck brace and then tore it off as he yells and gets his adrenaline pumping. As for the PPV, MJF was on a stretcher and receiving oxygen (apparently through his eyeballs). I guess to Dave, that’s not selling enough. Did Dave want him to have a seizure to sell the devastation à la Hulk Hogan after a powerbomb?
@@shootist0052 funny that he criticize lacks of selling yet praise people who take spine safety risking head bumps and gets up 5 secs after it...
Dave Meltzer actually had a point with that Take …..
Everyone of his favorite play wrestlers sell nothing. So he can pound sand
@☁POPULATION-_-420🌿 mic he doesn’t. Dave hands out 5 star matches when wrestlers win matches after being given “one winged fairies” onto steel steps. MJF had 3 days to recover before his promo on Wednesday.
Meltzer will never replace Russo as Cornette's nemesis, but it seems he is determined to be very near that place
Little do we know, Brian is running fake accounts and putting out outrageous posts in order to wind up armchair ridden, old man Jim.
At least meltzer is relevant
Russo doesn't give a damn about wrestling anymore
@@SandMan1998 he never did
@@SandMan1998 Not true in the slightest. If Russo didn't care about wrestling these days, he wouldn't have a wrestling podcast, and he sure as hell wouldn't be trying to get back into WWE.
I think Jim nailed it on the head, Dave seeks validation because WWE and WCW pretty much ignored him. His star ratings come from a place of bias these days.
Bingo
They always have. People listen to him too much.
I can’t imagine being so blinkered that I thought that mess put on by Jericho’s job squad was better than any match Kurt Angle ever had
@@mahakalavanilla6263 Dave really needs to go back and redo some of his old reviews he definitely changed the scale I do think omega vs okada series was great definitely 5 stars but there is no excuse for Kurt Angle or HBK to not have had a single 5 star match cause HBK vs Angle WM 21 was amazing so was HBK vs Undertaker at WM 25 and hell in my opinion HBK vs flair would have been 5 stars if Flair didn’t break the retirement stip by going to TNA
@@mahakalavanilla6263 dude bearly gave Bryan 5 stars cause he on aew. Dave is completely full of himself. Taker was right that the young guys shouldn't listen to him.
Dave gave luchasauras more 5 star matches than Kurt Angle, Triple H, Randy Orton, Edge, Brock Lesnar, The Rock and Roman Reigns... let thar sink in. Why do people take his star ratings seriously... I will never know
Confirmation bias and ego, mainly. He is a name that people who obsess over wrestling know and him giving high ratings to matches that they enjoy activates neurons.
Daddy Magic Matt Menard and Cool Hand Angie have more 5 star matches now too since Dave gave Anarchy 5 stars. LOL!
@@jamesparker6364 The Rock, Edge, Orton, HHH, Angle, Roman and lesnar have all had at least 1 or 2 or more 5 star matches. Problem is they weren't in Tokyo dome
@@metalheadjake3339 in a 60 minute no sell
You and me both Fella 💯
Uncle Dave gave Anarchy in the Arena a 5 star rating.....that says everything you need to know about his perception on wrestling today. I guess foolishness and no selling means more stars
It was a nice fun match IMO but this is a match that isn’t meant to be rated or taken seriously. Dave is completely out of his mind.
And botches and guys landing on their heads.
And trying to set someone on fire
Dave Meltzer is either on the AEW Payroll or he has Bumped his Head way too many times ….. 🤷🏿♂️
@@elnino80100 I mean he didn't rate the Sami Zayn v Knoxville match, which is exactly what he should have done for this match.
If guys like Bret Hart and Steve Austin ever see Dave they need to slap him for giving 5 stars to Anarchy in the Arena and basically saying it's as good as their WM13 match.
That's the problem right there. Why would anyone take an autistic robot like Meltzer's view of a match seriously? I don't think Hart/Austin, 1997, is the most exciting match ever (or close to it). It's a Bret Hart match. You either like that style or you don't. I never cared for it. Match wasn't magic either. Austin was getting pops since November, while Hart was getting booed two months prior. Difference is that Hart, who normally plays heel in a face match, didn't redeem himself, and instead kept attacking him. The match did its job: double turned. Very effective, with some boring periods (IMO). Meltzer "rates" based off of "transitions," "workrate," how many spots get blown (that he can see), and structure. I used to be able to create to a tee his match ratings. It's almost like he's not human. That he ended up a spergy high spot nerd was clear as day 20 years ago. It's people like Cornette who always ignored that about him since DM liked Mid South.
Couldn’t Agree More Fella 💯
He really said that match was as good as Hart vs Austin at Wrestlemania?
@@pirateradio6429 Meltzer was very picky with his 5 star ratings once upon a time. That WM13 match was a 5 star, that he couldn't even be picky on. Now, he gives them away willy nilly. His rating of the match is him saying its on par with WM13 Hart vs Austin.
He gave that horrible and embarrassing thing 5 stars ? What the F***!!
Never forget, this is a guy who gave a high rating to a match he didn't like, just because the crowd was into it, when earlier in his career he gave a low rating to a match in spite of the crowd liking it.
Do u mean the hogan vs rock match
Perfect Example Hogan vs Andere -4 Stars which loudest Crowd ever and Jericho vs Gage 4 Stars even tho he hated both Matches
@@Herbert_Rudolf hogan vs rock was even better because the crowd was going ballistic non-stop, the crowd turned a simple spot like hogan’s finisher into a 2 count - into one of the greatest wrestling moments on video, please rewatch it on youtube. it’s glorious
Whoa wait wtf really he did
@@aliciasimmons8473 yeah. Meltzer's guilty of this a lot. People have already listed Hogan-Rock and Hogan-Andre as examples. In those cases Meltzer says something along the lines of "It doesn't matter how into it the crowd are, the match is bad". Nowadays (oddly enough with a lot of AEW matches) Meltzer will say "it's not my thing, I don't like this match, but the crowd was really into it so 5 stars". He's full of contradiction.
You have to give Corny some credit. He seems to live, rent-free, in certain peoples' minds.
Oh god I wish that rent free phrase would die
For someone so "irrelevant' too
@@hornylorney8150 So, kill it
Well, meltzer does it too
His perplexed "what?" was wonderful.
Meltzer genuinely sounded like a sycophant in that Double or Nothing media scrum, desperate for Tony Khan's approval.
Yeah him and Alvarez were stroking Tony hard.
He was the one supplying baby oil to the rest of the media there that night
Bryan Alvarez asked Jericho the weirdest question. What are these guys on?
to be fair all the """""""journalists"""""""" there did. It was a room full of hand-picked, glorified bloggers. If an *actual* journalist showed up and asked Coke Head an actual hard ball question he'd either cry or go on an angry tirade...well, an additional angry tirade.
@@lracseroom8286 that was the guy that asked the bischoff question.
Meltzer going off on Cornette just like Khan went off on Bischoff. It's amazing all it takes is some people on Twitter bringing Cornette and Last up to set Meltzer on his tirades. You'd think Bryan and Vinny would take him aside and ask him to leave it alone. Lance Storm probably would, but he fits Cornette's camp more than anyone else on their staff, and already gives Meltzer shit for things he says (cause he's Lance Storm, he can afford to not give a shit). Still, it's like this revolving clock every 3-6 months. Never fails.
Cornette failed as ROH booker so bad that most of the guys that he tried to push are still high level talent today. The people that hate Jim are being shown with every passing day to be completely stupid. I can not wait for the day that Tony Khan kicks the Bucks and Omega to the curb so that Meltzer can no longer put up the front that that style of wrestling is popular.
well guys formerly known as Undisputed Era are hell-bent on not being presented as high level talents today thus making Dave right
You can reasonably complain about some of the booking but certainly not Cornette’s eye for talent and most of the people he wanted to push. Dave’s just mad that Cornette scoffs at his favourite wrestlers
Exactly Bro 💯
I hate to tell you it, but Reddit are pretty big on friends with wrestling Bucks/Omega.
@@MrEast111 SquaredCircle is a joke and an embarrassment.
I don’t understand Dave’s obsession with Kenny omega. I don’t. It’s fucking insane. It boggles my mind. You know Dave has lost his mind when Brian admits that Dave lost him. He’s gone insane. He’s said nothing negative about the bucks, Kenny omega, and it’s ridiculous. No wrestler, no company is perfect. Everyone deserves constructive criticism or criticism at least. But Dave offers none. It’s insane
I wanna see Dave’s AEW contract.
It's a side deal with the Bucks.
He’s on more than Punk
You know what is the sad part? The moment Meltzer screw up something with the Bucky boys they will throw him under the bus right away.
He is just so sad I kinda feel bad until I remember he must be on the payroll hard.
Not supposedly on the payroll. Only thing He yearns for is recognition and acceptance. Which is why he is called Anal Wrestling Rainman Uncle Dave.
Dave really needs to rewatch that scene from Almost Famous. Where the editor is explaining why you shouldn’t want to belong to the groups you’re writing about because it kills objectivity and thus any credibility.
Dave has dug himself into a hole he can't get out of. He can't say anything negative about Kenny and the Bucks because if they turn on him then their fans will too and they are pretty much his life force
I like Omega. Bucks not so much. However I know that Meltzer has lost it
I think it's more like "they've got him by the balls financially.".
Looks at the YT vids the observer puts up. They rarely break 10 k. How many subscribers do you think he has for his little rag anymore? A couple thousand?
Did you see the *pathetic* turnout for his Q&A the day before the AEW PPV? There were, *maybe* 20 people there? It reminded me of the "Lonely Virgil" meme.
He's a washed up relic, probably in dire straights financially and likely relies on Tony to help him put groceries in his cupboards and keep the lights on. No wonder he has an raging AEW bias.
Exactly! This whole facade is ridiculous.
If Uncle dave thinks kenny omega is a better wrestler then kurt angle, then there is no point in arguing with him. About anything.
You cannot reason with stupid..... smh
Dave has lost any credibility & whoever takes him seriously needs to really sit down and even look at his latest ratings .
Anarchy in the Arena got 5 stars ..
I bet the wrestlers involved in that match couldn’t believe it ..
Dave never had any credibility except for what the supposed (non-existent) wrestling literati designated. He's invested in AEW because that's all that he ever wanted wrestling to be. Period. And it sucks because his analysis always sucked. People want to see characters, plausible foils in feuds, and matches that touch the base for what the audience pays to see. Only a small number pay for workrate, and I don't even buy into that since same ones think Shane Douglas is a martyr of politics when he was always a hack too
Hilarious that Meltzer who raved about all the outstanding Misawa vs Kawada matches that tore down the house for All Japan in the 90s watches anything from AEW and goes “Yeah this is equal too or better than those matches” is literal lunacy. I hope I don’t go that crazy when I’m his age.
@@vannavanity1195 Yeah I find todays obsession with workrate to be rather misguided. Sure you want good matches but then consider that MJF vs Wardlow was the hottest feud on the show and it had zero to do with match quality.
@@SpacedCobraIII I never cared for workrate, and I think Meltzer rates matches like an AI robot and as a consumer advocate. It just depends on what you like. I never cared for Flair's work. He wrestles like a 3 Stooges character, and I've never read him once in my life as a tough guy. Bret Hart came off as tough but his matches are a hit and miss with me. His matches plod a lot, he's a really crappy ace in that he's not engaging, and it takes him forever to get to his conclusion. Not everyone wants a 500-page novel, and being 500 pages doesn't make it better. His best work was with his own contemporaries for a reason. Characters have to resonate with you. I enjoyed Warrior matches: he sold well for his more menacing opponents, he was a hell of an ace, and he had a lot of good matches that no one wants to acknowledge since Meltzer supposedly is smart. I can watch the Steiners over LOD. I thought Shawn Michaels was a great face. I could take the Undertaker seriously since he has a freak leap. Kane is safe for others but I think he's boring. Just depends on preference. The whole idea behind match ratings is this idea that there's a certain way a match is supposed to unfold. I'm looking for character work and foils. Wrestling isn't a sport and has never been one. It's a drama. I can enjoy a Hulk Hogan match in his prime, and I thought they were good. But I'm not one who is going to cheer for him to do a Lazarus routine, which is what Hogan matches are. It's the kind of thing sports fans are into. I'm not conformist enough to care for that. Major praises for Orndorff (menacing), Honky Tonk Man (awesome comedy wrestler), and Dusty Rhodes. I thought Rooster was great for sympathy foil since he's a loveable loser. Austin had a certain fire that was pretty nuts. OTOH, if you really think about Shane Douglas, it's not hard to see why he never went anywhere. Guy's sense of self is so poor that he could never find a character for himself. Luger is one of the most apathetic aces I've ever seen, like he never seemed to want to be there. Great body. It's entertainment. Smarks really killed that industry, but that's true for 90s pop culture in general where the form was all killed for shock, and then everything went meta
Anyone who gave his opinions any credence is slower than a Neanderthal. He’s no more qualified than you or I and shouldn’t be treated as anything more.
I love when Jim brings up people enjoying having their balls nailed to a stepstool. Gets me every time
Always Germans. That’s what pops me.
The image of Dave mowing into a cheeseburger is going to feature in my nightmares for the next week.
Dave used to shit on everything guys like Hogan, Warrior, Mid South JYD and Duggan, and basically everything WWF did in the 80s despite them and those guys drawing a shit ton of money, way more than guys like Omega and the Bucks draw. Dave didn't like the style of wrestling those guys did cause it wasn't what he grew up or liked and that's fine, yet when Jim does the same thing with guys that happen to be his little buddies he gets all bent out of shape about it. And for the record Dave still says those guys I mentioned above sucked and were terrible so it's not like his opinion is any different 40 years later.
Meltzer in the 80s: Every Hogan match is the same.
Meltzer today watching the young bucks have the same match for the 1,000th time: “This is incredible!”
Exactly right! I made that point too. Wrestling is and has always been a modeling job, telling stories and orchestrating matches between foils that carry literary or cultural relevance. The rest doesn't matter. Plus, AEW doesn't even draw money. AEW ran one single house show and drew better than WCW only between late 1992 and 1993. That's why they don't run them!! Rampage B does worse than NXT C. Dynamite A does worse than both Smackdown A and Raw B, despite having the advantage of running only two hours. Yet Meltzer every week has a headline like "AEW RAMPAGE BOUNCES BACK: DREW BEST RATING SINCE APRIL 18 WITH 400,000 VIEWERS." 🤣 Also made the same point you made earlier too: Meltzer & Cornette are the same types of people
It’s just fucked up that no one in Meltzer’s bubble can say anything positive about Jim without Dave instantly burying him. Jim doesn’t have the same modern tastes as Dave, but he also doesn’t personally go out of his way to badmouth Meltzer.
True, but Corny will go miles out of his way to badmouth Russo (which I admit is not a bad thing at all...)
@@bury_the_elite65294 Russo personally fucked Jim over in a professional setting multiple times. Meltzer spent years kissing up to Jim behind the scenes and publicly smearing him on Twitter to protect the elite’s image. Dave traded most of his own credibility as a journalist to become AEW’s press secretary. The Russo thing is a personal grievance. The Meltzer thing is a calculated business decision.
Dave is probably watching this video right now
That's what I hate about Meltzer, and the other, loud AEW fans. If you just state that you don't like it, they have to make it seem as if you're objectively wrong. Many of us, who were once faithful viewers of pro wrestling, don't like the show. Are there things within the company that might be worth a second look? Maybe. But I don't think the shows are good. From annoying, unlikeable wrestlers, no personalities that I can get into, angles that I care about, sloppy matches, the whole twitter-esque atmosphere, it's not my thing. I don't like it. That doesn't make me a WWE stan, or out of touch. I don't like the show you like, or the people you like. We can agree to disagree.
Using logic and reason with them doesn't work. You have to be wrong so they can be right. It's the way people are today sadly. Before we could have an intense debate and in the end agree to disagree because it's all personal taste. Now it's like Dave. They gotta be right so you clearly are wrong. Just ask them and they will craft a way to tell you that you are.
You say that, but every week the Corny, and Corny faithful come here to call people, idiots, stupid, questioning there man hood, gender stereotypes or what ever. You can't just say one side is toxic when you listen to Corny. He's one of the most hateful people. Both sides of the fence are wrong.
@@brianmilici3473 Have you looked at Corny's comment section, and videos. It's the most hateful place on earth. All of wrestling fandom is toxic. Which is weird because one side doesn't even like modern wrestling, so why the hell are they even watching.
@@eldrickemc4602 honestly I don't know many Contents sections that aren't hateful. Not defending it, but I've found far more reasonable people in conversing with Cornette fans than I do when I converse with other wrestling fans. The things I get called when I criticize AEW is so strange to me. You can criticize and still root for something.
@@eldrickemc4602 I disagree. Whether in person or over text, I've talked to several fans, and many had different opinions. I've been in discussions about different eras of wrestling, different companies, certain people's careers, and nowhere have I seen more butthurt than when an AEW fan jumps in. I gave it a legitimate shot. I watched it. I hate it. And for that, I'm told I don't like wrestling. Like many people, it's because I love wrestling, as a concept, as a valid form of entertainment, that I hate those shows. If you, or anyone else likes it, that's great. I'm honestly happy for you. No joke. And I won't say you don't like wrestling. He disagree, and that's fine. You don't get that, from a certain, vocal sect of Fandom.
I’m now craving double cheeseburgers mmmmmm
It's funny people keep bringing up "why Jim "failed" in ring of honor" like Ring of Honor was doing good before he got there
And they keep bringing it up like it's a revelation!
From a wrestling perspective, it was good. It's the business model they had that sucked lol. ROH wasn't going to survive doing PPV's every 12 weeks on HD Net. Jim knew that, and took it to a place where it could succeed. Without Jim's successes, and failures, ROH would've never gotten on Sinclair. And if they didn't get on Sinclair, they wouldn't have had the budget to push Cody, The Bucks and Omega to the moon.
Nobody knew roh back then
He ruined the special indie club for wrestling geeks by trying to make it money. All cult fandoms are like this
Jim came in, While they were in the middle of rebuilding. It's a stupid argument that people try to make.
As a 29 year old that has been a wrestling fan since seeing Rey mysterio’s WCW debut match against Dean Malenko back in 1996.. it’s honestly nothing short of pathetic how much Dave meltzer fanboys over the bucks, omega and the rest of the trampoline cowboys in AEW. Believe me I enjoy a near fall as much as the next fan but it’s just ridiculous how everyone nowadays pretty much kick out of Canadian destroyers and Spanish flys like they’re nothing and then 30 seconds later they’re having a bootleg NJPW strike contest in the middle of the ring.
If Meltzer rated 5 star match on his wrestlers, why these guys not achive 1 millions viewers broadcast every weeks??
Jim shouldn't have expected anything less, being the sworn enemy of cosplay rasslin' and all.
Well he's also rumored to have been one of his sources during the Monday night wars
lol....and here I am again tonight at 1am and can't sleep. And once again, nothing better than catching a fresh Cornette clip.
Same boat

Lol, midnight here, I'll fall asleep around 6, till then I'll be listening to Cornette
Dave made the same comments about Jim and ROH a year or so ago and Jim posted an hour long clip explaining how there was almost no one who he didn't book in ROH who is currently a star in wrestling now. Someone really needs to make Dave listen to it so he can get off that tired talking point.
Heard this on podcast, but just caught this going by,and Travis's art work really makes me laugh sometimes.
Also, was so good this week hearing Jim in his pomp and his element breaking stuff down technically (the Gunn club, then obviously the mjf promo): brilliant insight. Thanks to Jim, and the coffee addict 😁😜👍
HI DAVE! You know he just woke up from this notification.
AEW isnt moving the needle either. They still bring the same 1 million people to watch the same crap. Nothing new. The promos always interrupted. A man looking like a lizard. Dives! Dives! Good god almighty, Dives!
These are always entertaining.
It's almost surreal how differently people like us (Jim & most of his fans) view wrestling compared to how the internet nerd crowd views it. Like two completely different worlds... One thing I do know is that I've been a fan for almost 25 years, and these little sensitive, petty, hateful, man-children have destroyed one of my favorite forms of entertainment, and all for the pleasure of being "in" on the "inside joke" this business has become. Most modern wrestling fans are consoooomers and will move on to another trend eventually, leaving the dead corpse of the wrestling business behind. They never really cared about it.
One meme wrestler and flavour of the week to the next, leaving a trail of bones ripped from the corpse of wrestling behind them to satisfy their adderall-addled dog brains that can’t focus on one thing longer than it takes to cook their tendies.
I’m glad somewhere exists for guys to make money but every time I hear Khan or one of their smug geek fans on Twitter I root for them to fail.
"FIGHT FOREVER!!!" (clap clap, clapclapclap)
Cornette and Meltzer make great enemies.
Dave couldnt know good wrestling if it hit him over the head thirty times over
Once upon a time he did, but he's so infatuated with modern wrestling he thinks it's the greatest shit ever.
I've said it a million times, Tony Khan shouldn't be listening to anything Dave Meltzer says about "what is a good product". He's right in that it's about drawing money, Except for the fact that it's not reflected in his philosophies of wrestling and his own personal bias & preference, Which I guarantee, Would negate his ability to actually draw money if he was ever a wrestling promoter. That's actually the case for just about every wrestling promoter & mind, That's ever existed, Including Cornette. As for his MJF "whatever" statement. MJF had the best matches on the Revolution PPV with Punk and the Full Gear PPV with Darby and that's almost universally agreed upon. Where did he rank them?
"I can't believe MJF no sold Wardlow's powerbombs on Dynamite"....You mean like doing two destroyers, One from the top rope and one on the floor and then no selling it 5 minutes later in the match. He's an idiot. A consistent one too.

Meltzer has either gotten off medication or is on the wrong medication to act this way. Corny is right about that the logic of wrestling has never changed. It can't change because wrestling nowadays don't give a shit.
Uncle Dave has to mention Corny every few months to stay relevant
So serious question, were Meltzer and Sean Ross Sapp worked by MJF and Tony Khan? Or did they purposely report false information at the request of Tony Khan?

Jim your amazing! Keep up the good work! Thank you for always making my days! X
Dave Meltzer is no longer the final word on pro wrestling and he can't handle that. He's become a shill, whereas Jim Cornette always tells it like it is and is usually right about 99% of the time. Lots of people cannot stand Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks; myself included! They're marks for themselves.
In my opinion, people like Dave are why people don't want to support AEW. If you watch AEW and like it, good for you, I don't.
Honestly, if this doesn't prove Meltzer simps for AEW, nothing will.
And you know, I'm not knocking on people for liking AEW.... but NOBODY will like AEW as much as Meltzer. He's damn near cultified himself.
There was a hilarious video of Meltzer talking about how it was so horrible that WWE let Cody go out and wrestle hurt. Alvarez started agreeing with him and mentioned how AEW had let Omega go out and wrestle with vertigo and Uncle Dave suddenly went into defense mode. Somehow it was perfectly ok for Omega to go out while constantly dizzy but Cody having a torn muscle was completely beyond the pale.
uncle Dave is all elite, I wonder how much are the paying him
I like how the AEW fans can never explain their complete inability to actually GROW their fanbase. Rather than just making content for the same one million people, over and again, they should also be trying to grow their audience and global presence as a brand. They have everything they need to succeed, if they could just get the morons out of their way, and the dead weight off of their back.
Meltzer never had any credibility to begin with. He is merely a trivia buff and a damn paparazzi.
Dave Meltzer lost all of his credibility a long time ago.
I be waiting to see how the thumbnails make sense and when they do, I bust out laughing lol
It’s pathetic one old man has so much influence on the younger generation just because he wants to like what’s new just to fit in and not look out of date
I remember when they agreed to disagree with each other and they were civil as all hell.
I am very confused about Dave's behaviour in recent years, he has either had a complete personality transplant or he was always like this but putting on a façade of being a normal person who liked good wrestling.
He was always a Mark for Japanese Wrestling even back in the 80s. He never liked the big Promotions like the WWF or WCW. Now there is AEW which is a perfect place for Meltzer because it has everything he likes Japanese wrestling, indie wrestling, spotfests etc. He would always love AEW even 40 years ago
The Fella has Lost his Mind Completely
@@gsesquire3441 Thats what i believe as well. His adoration for them and Omega goes beyond just being paid to shill for them.
When Uncle Dave says “what we were all taught”, he’s forgetting that he was never in the business. He only wrote about it. He really thinks that his word is “law”.
I am so in love with the perplexed way Jim says "What?" at the start.
The same people saying Jim Cornette knows nothing about the wrestling business haven't watched any wrestling outside of WWE, AEW, & TNA. Sad state of affairs 🤦🏿♂️
I'm finding modern day NWA pretty enjoyable.
Cornette and Bischoff now have a two things in common; they both hate:

Wait a minute, how does Meltzer know AEW is making money?

Who the fuck is Dave Meltzer? 😂
Just kidding. 😜 This clip was hilarious!
Meltzer vs Cornett is still the best feud in the business
Yeah, no one in their right mind is going "You know who I really miss? Kenny Omega"
Pretty sure not even Tony Khan is saying that, now that he has CM Punk.
Meltzer saw Bucks and Omega making money for themselves and thinking they're making money FOR THE WHOLE INDUSTRY
Well, as far as McDonald's goes, anyone who's eaten at Big Boy, and maybe Jim has patronized one a time or two in his day, can tell you BB not only perfected the Big Mac -- they invented it. Ray Kroc can suck it!
Bic Mac is nasty. QP w/Cheese 4 Lyfe
30 second Google search disproved your comment...then again, it's YT comments so I should expect people making sh*t up and trying to pass it off as fact.
Big Boy's Big Boy burger was first. Big Mac didn't come around until the 60s. They're the practically the same sandwich.
I've said it before, I've never really "got" Dave Meltzer. Never understood the hype and mystique and reverence the man draws in some circles. And I was a wrestling fan in the late 80s and 90s pre-internet, so I fully understand the power of the dirtsheets. But to me he's always been just another self important mark with an opinion, worth no more than anyone else's.
Maybe Meltzer should go work for Fox News. He'd be a perfect fit.
You could even understand Meltzer constantly having a dig at Cornette if Jim himself was also constantly criticising ol' Uncle Dave but Jim never says anything about him, probably because he doesn't really care at this point, but Meltzer keeps bringing Jim up like a troll starved of the attention he's so desperately seeking. It's pitiful.
Uncle Dave gave Hardys vs the Hardlys 4 stars when the general audience rated it an average above 2.5 stars...that alone, says enough.
Did he not notice that one of the participants was CONCUSSED? The whole Jeff Hardy thing is terrifying, someone at AEW really failed in their job there (was it the corpse referee again?), I'll be interested to see what he says about Cody and if he makes complaints about being needlessly reckless there...
That shitshow was so bad on the Hardy’s part that I almost thought the Bucks looked decent for about 7 seconds
Jim has always been right about Omega and Bucks
Bucks and Omega suck
Bucks and Omega aren't as successful as macdonalds cheeseburgers... no one in the real world knows who Bucks and Omega is outside the very hardcore wrestling fans. BS they make loads of money. I'd say there are bigger draws in AEW than the hardly boys and Twinkletoes
What I HATE the most about Omega is that they are a section of hardcore wrestling fans who seriously think Omega is on the levels of The Rock, Undertaker, Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Ric Flair, Andre, Bruno Sammartino etc as one of the elite greats of all time all because dementia ridden dave melzter gave him 7 stars once.
There is no way Omega is on their level.. NO WAY
And Bucks being the greatest tag team of all time over the likes of Road Warriors, Hart Foundation, Rock N Roll Express, The Bulldogs, Usos, New Day, New Age Outlaws, Dudleyz, E&C and the team they rip off poorly in the Hardy boys and other I haven't mentioned is laughable
And I'm 27 and I started watching pro wrestling in April 2000. I'm not even in cornettes generation of pro wrestling and I agree 100% wholeheartedly with Jim Cornette.... and Harley Race on their opinions of Bucks and Omega
Omega is an insufferable twat and the most overrated wrestler in history but is a decent overall athlete and can have a good match with the right opponent, like Danielson.
There is literally nothing redeeming about the Cucks. They suck on every measurable level and a lot of people have seem through that horseshit by now.
I’d be fine never seeing any of them on TV again though.
Jim's memory is very fantastic, Brian fact checks things as he speaks on his podcast. Jim can remember some guy nobody even knew.
I'm glad that the bucks, omega and all that flippy stuff didn't turn into the normal "pro wrestling". That flippy stuff is more like an Internet joke.
Jim be living rent free in Dave's head forever.
Jim would be happy there - listen to how much he loves wide open spaces!
Haaaaaaaaawh WHATABUGER with spicy ketchup is the meal of champions. Dr pepper or sprite...it is your choice.
😂
Yeah at this point I'd say uncle Dave is obsessed with Jim. Not surprising.
Dave has become irrelevant, and he can't deal with it.
0:21 you can hear the disbelief in Jim's voice, you can visualise him with the look of wtf.
Does Meltzer not know that Botchamania is a thing? 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t understand how you can watch an AEW tag team match all the way through. Because every single one that I’ve seen(not many admittedly), a non-legal man pins another non-legal to win the match.
Like what even is that?
Modified lucha rules 😂
If part of the one Wrestler and part of the other Wrestler are in the ring at the same time does that make them a pair of Paralegal Wrestlers?😏😂🎤🤼♂️B.W.
Dave is such a terrible person. Its crazy hes still taken as a serious source.. hes just a fan who is clueless about wrestling
his actual ability to break news is still pretty solid, it's his opinion that has gone downhill markedly in recent years.
Like he's certainly off base. I don't think that makes him a terrible person though.
Let's be real here, Dave is not a terrible person based off his job and his reporting. It's cool if you want to disagree, fuck off with the terrible person shit.
Hitler was a terrible person. Dave is just an annoying mark for trampoline wrestling
@@UFCWWE69 The Greatest Story Never Told
i was listening to older Cornette's rants about Dave, and after hour of hearing one after another, i hear this, and i'm like ... wait, i don't remember this one xd
Even if there are rarely any good promos or angles you see today, Jim's replies are always cut throat and he ain't even in the business no more.
That's why he's so cut throat, he doesn't want a job so he doesn't give a shit.
Meltzer has become the aspie internet nobody everybody in the business always suspected him to be.
@Marc Carran Get bent. Aspies are defects. Can't interact with other people, can't compute criticism, can't entertain a perspective other than their own. See also: every employee of the tech industry.
@Marc Carran Oh, and do a headstand into a running wood chipper.
Meltzer really has lost it. I've been watching wrestling for 30+ years, and I can't for the life of me see the appeal of AEW. All of the vets/greats of this business I grew up watching are far beyond and above anything on that show. MJF's pipebomb more of less said everything Jim has been saying is wrong about that promotion. I concur wholeheartedly.
Still better than wwe
@@84seahawkfan congrats. Vomit is better than shit.
@@84seahawkfan I personally find both shows equally unwatchable but for different reasons.
Yeah, Dragon Gate had Jushin "Thunder" Liger and Kevin Steen when he was actually in shape, but it sucked.
Can we get an omnibus with all the times Jim has made the uhhhhhh sound? Lmfao 😂
Why does anyone give a shit about Meltzer's star ratings?
Dave can't grasp that the Bucks and Omega make more money off less people. They have their niche audience of between 600-800k people who will watch their show no matter what they do. They can't sell tickets anymore, as the recent segments on TV tapings ticket sales have proven. I don't have actual numbers but I'm sure when you take into account all the towns that ran the different territory's weekly TV, more people watched each territory on a regional basis than watch AEW. But nope, they want to push the narrative that wrestling is in a better place than 40 years ago, simply cause they're making money.
Did anyone check Uncle Dave's knees for rug burns
Cant get over old dave being part of mjf shoot promo he is definitely working for aew
Dave Meltzer Star Ratings - AEW Double Or Nothing 2022:
The Jericho Appreciation Society vs Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, and The Blackpool Combat Club in an Anarchy in the Arena match
Rating: 5.00 stars 😳🙈
Football Field Fuckery volume 3. All 3 of them have 4 stars or higher. Dave has been snorting Tony Khan
For someone to go THIS hard defending something it's obvious Dave has his hand in kahns pocket
Is Brian Last paying you.
@@matt92550 naaahhh lol
That "what" was so genuine
"He's tweeting about you again."
"... wha-a-a-at???"
I think Jim broke a little.
Ugh, McDonalds. In a nation where you can buy a Whopper, a buger from a fast casual place like Applebee's or IHOP, or get something old school from a diner, why would you even bother with McDonald's?!
7:22 I love how Brian and Jim suddenly got serious and felt sorry for Dave. 😄
Meltzer is to Wrestling Journalism as what German Bukake videos are to Cinema
Don't use words you can't even spell!
When I first turned in an AEW show I saw the legless guy in The BR and they lost me forever
