      Well, there are a couple things that I did to future proof the build but I forgot to mention them in the video. I ran USB to the back and sides of the building to my computer area, in case I ever did some type of camera set up. I put in an extra outlet in the ceiling just in case I ever upgraded to a ceiling mounted launch monitor and ran ethernet cable up there. Just make sure you plan out where all the cables are going, run anything that you think you might use in the future. Another thing is when I ran my HDMI cable to the projector. I did so in 1 inch tubing, with access points on each end. I did this, just in case a cable ever failed, so I could re-run it through the wall and ceiling just by pulling it out with the old hdmi. But if I could redo it, I would at least do a 24 x 16 building so I could have a seating area. Or even all my workout equipment. I am gonna put a little more thought into it though and get back to you if I think of anything else.

    • @thunder.pumpgolf_andfitness
      @thunder.pumpgolf_andfitness  7 месяцев назад

      When I hit my wedges full, they do not come close to hitting the top of the screen, where I hit from is 7.5 foot away from the screen. And my screen is 9 foot tall. The only way the ceiling has been hit when someone has skied a driver. That is why I put a cushion pad on the ceiling in the middle of the screen. Honestly, the only thing I would have done different, if I could have. I would’ve made it 24 x 16 to have a little more space for seating because I’m a lefty and my friends are righties. It makes a little bit more difficult but if I had 24 ft I’d have a lot more space. Also, if I had the money, I would have preferred a ceiling mounted launch monitor. That way I wouldn’t have to move it back-and-forth but for me those were just way too expensive.

    • @thunder.pumpgolf_andfitness
      @thunder.pumpgolf_andfitness  9 месяцев назад +1

      Cost of the just building without anything done to the inside around 6k. The concrete slab was 2500. I would recommend 16 or 18 deep by at least 24 wide. But I would place the impact screen on the 16/18 side. It would give more room for seating and bar behind hitting area. Something to think about if you have 24 feet of space you lose 1 foot behind the hitting screen then you need at least 7 to 8 foot from where you hit the ball to the screen. Then you need 4 foot behind the hitter so right there is 12 to 14 feet of space minimum. Then from there just depends on how much room would feel comfortable behind the hitter.

    This is really incredible and you’ve saved tons of money doing this all yourself! My simulator is in my garage and I’ve added things bit by bit. I have an R10 currently as I’m newer to golf and didn’t wanna spend more money if I wasn’t going to like it. Well I’m hooked and will be getting the Skytrak+ once GS Pro can fully work with it. Then I’ll get a gaming pc or laptop. I really like what you’ve done with the cushions and saving money that way! You’re a genius sir, well done! You’ve given me even more ideas on saving money on hitting mat because I was just going to fork up the 2 grand on that fiberbuilt mat you spoke of. Seeing as I could make one myself with just the fiberbuilt strip, I’ll do just that so thank you for that. Sorry for the long winded message. Godspeed to you sir in your golf career. A well earned subscription from me🏌🏽

      Yes!!!☝🏼this comment right here!!! This is what I was hoping for, so happy you got some ideas from this video. Once you get that skytrak+ and gspro, look into the sgt(simulator golf tour). You can play in tournaments against fellow golfers all year long. I’ll post another video and actually show all the layers of the hitting/stance mat. And how I went about building it. Good luck with the simulator upgrade and thanks for the sub!

Im not very good at golf by any means I just enjoy the challenge of it all. I think I’ll just keep adding onto my sim in my garage before I build a golf sim in my backyard like you have done. Seeing it can be done for under 16K really peeks my interest. I can’t wait to watch more of your videos. I’ve played Payne’s Valley on GS Pro at my neighbors house. Very nice course. Also played Michael Jordan’s course. I laughed because they have the drones flying all over how they do in real life. Check that course out if you haven’t already, it’s a trip🤣

      @@thunder.pumpgolf_andfitness yes sir! I love the mental challenge. I compare golf to chess. It’s easy to learn, but it takes a lifetime to master.
