Your expert and thorough presentation clarified and pulled together so many disparate things I have been looking at in Mind-Body work. For example I could not figure out how tracking my symptoms and giving them attention were going to help me. Now I understand how it works. I am so grateful to you for your generosity in doing these videos, as I gather they were hard won through your own arduous work. So I am looking forward to working on getting a new direction by watching your videos and putting your suggestions into action. At this late stage in life (77), I want to be able to have some good health to enjoy life. Blessings Tanner.
Thank you so much for this elaborate video on nervous system regulation. You touched on the parts which aren't actually touched upon. Having been suffering from Chronic fatigue, pain & disassociation I have found myself totally isolated on this journey. Not sure how I can start to connect with people cause most people don't understand. I usually feel safe in nature & online communities. But it's so difficult. Because of childhood trauma & physical trauma I feel like a burden a lot of times. It makes me feel alone & isolated. When in dorsal I feel there is an invisible wall between me & the world. But when I get out of it I realise things aren't that doomy & gloomy.
I'm so sorry to hear about your symptoms and trauma. Thank you for sharing it. Yes connection can be hard to do when we are shut down due to trauma. I know this from experience. Please keep going. I have found cultivating safety through somatics and safety signals supported me in opening up to connection.

I reeeeaaaally like how you said our safety signals don’t have to make sense logically. I’ve been telling a doctor the last few years that a decaf matcha latte in the morning makes me so happy and provides calm, even though she’s asked me to stop caffeine altogether (decaf js actually really low caffeine). I’ve continued drinking it because it makes me happy and feel even more present in addition to my entire routine in the morning, so why not? I have noticed that as I recover, I don’t crave it as strongly as before though. 🙂
Gees this video is so good. Right on time. I didn't understand about mapping out the states or even knowing the three states. Finally, I'm understanding the program I need to create to heal. Going to have to relisten.

I need therapy for the chronic pain/illness, depression and anxiety that I know stems from my brain, from stuck trauma, abuse, loss, overwhelm, accidents. I’ve listened to you for a while now, and relate with you so much as far as our experiences go and regarding severe pain. I try talking to my brain and work on not concentrating on the pain, but it’s so severe, so debilitating. I can’t seem to overcome or change what’s happening in my brain/body. Thank you, Tanner, so much.
