Updated to the latest firmware (0.99.9) on the PRO2 and downloaded the 32MB premade version of FMCB from the Dropbox. Having an issue of elf recognizing Ch.2 memcard. When attempting to copy saves from an older memcard, I follow the instructions created a new virtual/temp memcard on Ch.2 - but when I'm in LaunchELF file browser on the main screen that shows mc0, mc1, hdd1, etc. and switch to Ch.2 and enter mc0 it's just an empty directory and says 0 bytes free and therefore can't copy my saves. The PRO2 OSD does say I'm on Memcard1 Ch.2 and its 32MB. Even if I switch back to Ch.1 and go back into mc0 directory that will now appear as an empy directory with 0 bytes free.

I don’t really remember exactly. Pretty sure I pre-ordered early last year, then I finally received it a few months ago. It took a long time, but I’m not sure how long it would take now that they are already in production.
Thanks so much for the tutorial, it helped me out a lot, I've now got all my PS2 game saves transferred to individual virtual memory cards. I'm amazed how well this thing works. One thing I'll note is that I had trouble using FMCB booted from my virtual memory card to do the save copying, since changing to a new memory card page didn't totally fly with launchELF. It works better to run FMCB off of your old memory card with the save data on it, while you're copying stuff over, so you can just keep your mcp2 on your temporary virtual memory card that isn't FMCB.
I'm gonna revisit this later when I actually get my PS2 fully setup, but in theory the Memcard Pro 2 is ready to go for that day. As always, great tutorial!

I've set my default card as the freemcboot card, but with IGR the console just boots back to the current game vmc meaning I need to manually restart. How do you import native PS2 saves to PCSX2? MYMC cannot import .mc2 files. It can only import .cbs, .psu, .max, .sps, and .xps files. Is there a tool that can convert .mc2 files to a format that MYMC can read?
This was a big help for me setting mine up. Now that I’ve done it once I will probably go back and re-do it again now that I fully understand why 128mb might be a good idea. Memories of days changing pages on old PS1 bank switching cards came right back instantly! 😂
If you are getting the "failed to copy" error at 14:54 here is a fix: Back out of MC0 Unplug MemCardPro Plug it back in, wait for it to connect Switch to Channel 2 again on MemCardPro Enter MC0 again Paste....done There is a bug where LaunchElf detects it as 0 bytes and won't let you copy. After you plug it back in it should correctly read as 7.8 mb. Hope this helps
I remember buying 007: Agent Under Fire, ripping it to PC, swapping an elf file and burning it back to a blank disk, loading the game and swap disk to the burnt CD and then load certain level which would then load uLaunchELF and can install FMBC from there. Crazy to think how easy it is now

Got mine a couple days ago. It was frustrating that it didn't work like the MemCard Pro 1 in that I could just create new Virtual Mem cards and channels with Select+L1 and R1. But this helps. I just want to be able to save multiple save versions of the same game that are on different memory cards.
Thanks for the guide on how to transfer (and split) saves. Might not be super simple for non tech-savvy users, but should be doable. Also, you can leave the Powershell execution policy on remotesigned, it's not posing any security risk. Side note: are you using a mono microphone? Sounds like your voice track is mostly on the left channel, making it sound a bit weird/unpleasant. Should be enough to "mirror" that track to the other channel, that way your voice gets "centered" again.
Hey, sorry if this has been asked before but i couldn't find any comment with the same problem. So i have this strange problem with the file transfer, whenever I get into wLaunchelf 4.43x_isr and then create a new VMC it always says the new VMC has 0mb of free space in launchelf. I've tried creating the vmc in the webUi beforehand and even if I change into a preexisting automatically generated MC it's always 0mb discspace and I can't copy anything over. The only VMC that shows to work is the original FMCB one. Oh also the cards created are always 8mb. But still thank you for your tutorial it helped me greatly with getting FMCB to run and everything else
I can only get it to detect my games sometimes.. Solutions? I'm lost at this point. I've set both of the settings I'm suppose too to auto and still it will only show up sometimes.. 😢
great summary! question: if you setup the memcard pro2 to be the boot card for FMCB (memory card 1) and don't want to use the gameID feature, does that mean you have to manually change the channel/memory card to an empty one in order to save your games? (since most of the 8MB block is already taken up by FMCB files/apps. I prefer to use the 8MB card size due to compatibility reasons.). it appears that when you boot a game in opl, the memcard pro 2 stays on the original FMCB channel/card and does not automatically switch to a free channel/card, hence, there is no free storage left for save files. it would be quite a hinderance to manually change the channel/card by pressing the button each time. not sure if i am missing something? seems like this special version of OPL+gameID crashes on the boot screen. funny enough, an old version, OPL 1.1.0, boots fine and even has gameID functionality despite being several years old. not sure what is going on haha.
Great video! It was really helpful! I got all my saves from PCSX2 split up and on to the MCP2, but wondering if there is an easy way to go back? PCSX2 has the option of using a save folder now (like Dolphin), but those saves are the extracted files, and a lot of the tools expect saves to be on a memory card binary or in psu/max/psv/etc format.
It's kind of a bummer that it forces wifi configuration, and refuses to go to the configuration screens without it. I'm sure if I knew the URL for the inside pages, it'd all be there, which makes it more frustrating, if anything.
Great video. My Freemcboot memory card finally died, so I ended up unboxing my memcard pro 2 I was waiting to configure and followed this video. I'm having an issue though with my HDD not always being able to be recognized in OPL grimdoomer, and also the triangle button for game settings does not work. It will flash quickly and then go back to the games menu. Another odd quirk is when I do get the HDD to load the games list, if I hit right on the Dpad, the list goes away, and I can't get it back. (This HDD worked fine with my other FMCB memory card setup) This happens with the Grimdoomer that's on your preflashed file here, and also the newest Grimdoomer that I tried to install as well. Just got my mcp2 and trying to set it up now. It updated firmware and now I’m onto the wifi stage. However, when I press and hold the buttons, it just says “Release to home page”. Any help?
Is the game save splitting section only needed because you transferred from old memory? As in would it split new games by itself? Or is that not a feature built in and you need to do the work
This is a great video on one of the first to showcase the MemCard Pro2. I received mine over a week ago and just now getting it setup with one of my phat models (the other has the modchip). I was able to install FMCB on the Pro2 with the default MemoryCard1 along with OPL. Still trying to figure how to do the IGR as once a new card for a game has been made it leaves the MemoryCard1 so if the combo is pressed it may not return to the OPL screen.
How do I get the prebuilt image you have given us to also work with an MX4SIO card? I can’t get it to see the thing. I tried to copy files over from a working FMB MX4SIO card but that didn’t work lol.
It's not splitting the files for me hopefully I can figure out what is wrong, but then again I'm having to eject the memcardpro2 from the slot and put it back in for the games to get loaded. Question for you: Which of the OPL files in the OPL GameID zip file do you use? There are four files, none of which have an explanation - they end in _GEM or _LD or things like that.

Im running into a bit of a pickle where on startup it is automatically launching LaunchELF and I dont know how to get it to land on the FreeMcBoot extended PS2 menu :(
i just got mine in the mail and when i try and press down the two buttons it doesnt pull up wifi settings it tries to pull up main menu but then glitches out and doesnt actually show it to me?
Just got mine as well. According to their support, it's changed. You now hold the left button for a menu, navigate with the left button and select with the right button. The rest is straight-forward.
Can I switch back to the original boot than fcmb on the fly? Some games like problems with fcmb such as Guitar Hero 3 where audio bugs happen. I usually just disconnect my fcmb memory card and plug in an original ps memory card whenever I want to play GH3
Hello! seeking help. I'm having a problem that, when I launch a game through OPL, the Memcard Pro 2 seems to switch to the game's memory card before OPL can finish loading the game, and my PS2 will just hang at a black screen. OPL GD works fine from another memory card in the second slot. Any advice?
Sorry for another question but what would be the reason for the memcard pro to show up fragmented file when I put the fcmb 64mb file on sd card? I’ve used two different sd cards and both have had same issue?
Until IGR IS fixed to tell MCP2 to load default boot card I’ll use my dvd remote on my slim console to power off and on. Not ideal but no way I’ll be doing that single card setup. MGS3 etc don’t like anything bigger that 8mb
IGR doesn't need to be "fixed", but additional code added to call for the change. We currently try an alternative method, which seems to work quite well (even with OPL 0.9.3 and the PS2-Menu).
Thank you for the tutorial, ordered my card now. Quick question, do you think it would be difficult to be able to copy back and forth between the card and pcsx2 for play? Like, playing on OG hardware and then pcsx2 on the go (steamdeck) and then back on ps2? Maybe some sort of automated cloud save or ftp script? Just thinking of options to switch between them.
did this too but i got a Ps2\Ps1 Ps3 card reader and connected to pc and used the app Anthony to read the cards and then transfer save file to split app
Hmm wenn pressing the two Buttons it says "release for main menu", when i release it, nothing happens and the message stays. Pressing both buttons again causes the same message, pressing one alone just changes the Memory Card. The Wifi doesn't activate.
I managed to set this up and backup all my saves, even used the mc splitter app successfully. I bought a mx4iso and watching your other tutorial. Are the fcmb and opl support exfat in these pre made card images? Do i need to change them. Thanks

On my official PS2 8mb memory card, i am going attempting to copy my saves over to the MCP2 but they are not appearing in LaunchElf - its just completely empty in mc1 although the memory card is inserted. I have reset the system, removed memory card etc but nothing coming up! Any ideas? Also.- I saw your vid about the discs now working with GameID as well for the memory card, however, I am finding that any game I start it is not picking it up. i am on 0.99.8 so believe it should be working? EDIT: Didnt realise i needed the MX4SIO inserted whilst running a disc for this to work! Worked right away as soon as I did this! After following the steps and checking my spelling it seems like .\split.ps1 refuses to be recognized. I did try running the powershell script through right-click > run with powershell and executes then. Should I worry about running the script like this? Is there a good reason for running the script with admin powershell?
This is great but I really wish someone would just make a damn GUI. I hate fumbling around with Github and scripts. I couldn't get the splitter to work even with the Stackoverflow command, it still says it needs to be signed.

@@ArchadesGames Ah, that's not what I meant. I recently received my MemCard Pro 2 and I have never used OPL before. This tutorial assumes that the person already has OPL setup with a different memory card. I was wondering if you could make one for newcomers to the PS2 mod community. As it stands, I have the MemCard Pro 2 setup but I don't know how to utilize OPL.
I'm still not sure if what I'm saying is clear. What I mean is that I followed the tutorial and I have OPL on Memory Card 1 and it shows up on my PS2. But, after having searched through many other tutorials online, I'm still unable to get OPL to recognize the games on my hard drive. So, a tutorial that is updated for 2024 that goes from start to finish and explains even what the different apps are for... that would be super beneficial. Compared to getting other consoles setup, via soft mods or ODEs, the PS2 is not very well documented and kinda annoying lol!

Is there a way to drag and drop via wifi, a save file I downloaded? I have tried drag and drop onto the SD but even after manually creating a save there is no folder to browse to on the SD card.
hmm.. i couldnt run the script... i did the set-executionpolicy remotesigned thing then hit A, but i still get the same error... EDIT: i guess that was an issue with my desktop tho, i was able to do it on my laptop... weird thing is, I only got 22 games out of it, even though i know its wayyy more.. I used a 32GB Memcard file for the splitting, maybe that was the issue?
yeah i guess some were corrupt, or maybe the program was failing to recognize them, so it stopped doing the entire chain... took a while doing them a few at a time til i figured out which were stopping it.. lol idk, took all night but I finally migrated everything PS2 and PS1 across 2 memcardPro2's lol I have 1 FAT that i use for FreeMcBoot and US American games.. then a Japanese slim that i use for Physical Japanese PS1 and PS2 games

I did every thing up to the point where its scaning my network (I'm using my IPhone to do this) And it does not get passed the scaning page? I just continues to keep scaning?? For some reason the PS2 folder on the SD card after the intial setup there is a folder called SLUS-20467 instead of the memoryCar1-1.mc2 file, and it keeps show that file or game Tomb raider on the oled screen of the card so confused where that comes from, so even if i put that FMCB file in it doesnt do anything
Apologies if this is mentioned, but how do you switch Mempro 2 between PS1and PS2 mode in the actual console I thought it would just switch automatically based on the game but It switched to PS1 mode and I can't get it back to PS2 mode...
Just was looking for clarification, we can’t use in game reset with a mx4sio and mem card pro 2. We can’t use in game rest, We need to shut console off and reboot?
I have to ask, can the game detection and create game dedicated memory cards work if you don't use a modded console? I'd like to have dedicated memory cards for PS1 and PS2 games but I can't figure out how to make that work.
I have a question and hope someone can help me. Everything worked good with the tutorial. I am using Grimdoomer's OPL with an exFAT HDD and the games show up and runs. The thing is I can't get into the per game options menu. When I press Triangle in OPL on a game it kicks me back to the menu. Some games need to do a bit of settings to work. Anyone else have this problem as well?

hmm is the idea here that if I in-game reset it will return to the PS2 Browser and not boot into the FreeMcBoot (MemoryCard1) memory card? On a hard reset of the console it does as expected, but not when using in-game reset. If I have my second dedicated FreeMcBoot memory card in the second slot it will pull from that one and work (which is why I thought it was working initially), but when removed it doesn't.
Is there an issue with the fmcb image working together with matrix? For some reason i can boot to fmcb menu but cant get ulaunch to work, just a black screen.

When you do the thing in powershell to separate all the saves to their own card…why do you type in “PS1” at 18:40 when it’s the ps2 games you’re splitting

So I am totally new to this whole thing and I was able to get the files over to the SD card and such but for some reason my PS2 Phat isnt booting the FreeMcboot on first startup. Is there something I'm missing?

I was wondering if I had to perhaps do the whole shebang with the hdd in the back or if this overrides that aspect if I have a big enough sd card. At least, that is what I am thinking....
So I followed step by step but when I launch anything from the FMB home screen the screen turns dark black and never loads. ULaunch, FMB Config, OPL, None load, just dark black screen. Using 8mb image if that helps.
@@ArchadesGames Same problem and I try the different image you provide. Launching something give black screen and MemCardPro screen light reduce (sign of no activity detected?), no problem with a chinese FMCB card. I have a japanese PS2 with GEM shiny a mod chip and I'm using a 4to exFat SSD with Grim OPL.
Found a solution, I downgrade version of FMCB to 1.953 and it's working. Put a FMCB memory car in slot 1, put memcardpro in slot 2, put FMCB installer on a USB key (customize the files before (OPL, FMCB CFG and OPL CFG), then boot and install FMCB on the memcardpro
Everything works great so far except that grimdoomer build im not sure if im not doing soemthing wrong or what but i have the 2 settings im suppose too set to auto. Ill have too toggle these settings on and off for a while for my games to finally show up and if i go into settings again after they show up even if i dont touch anything all my games dissappear again! Id really appreciate any help if anyone knows any solutions or tips?? Everything else works perfect besides this!
The games on mt HDD no longer show up on this version of OPL. If i use my previous memory card with an older version of OPL it works. Any ideas on what to do?
@@ArchadesGames exFat I think. I played with some grimdoomer settings and I think it’s working normal now though. Turned off HDD in main settings. Default to BDM with HDD enabled.

The bigger images are if you want to do a single card setup or have more homebrew on a single card image.

If you want to use igr you have to manually change back to the FMCB card with the web UI

I remember buying 007: Agent Under Fire, ripping it to PC, swapping an elf file and burning it back to a blank disk, loading the game and swap disk to the burnt CD and then load certain level which would then load uLaunchELF and can install FMBC from there. Crazy to think how easy it is now

Got mine a couple days ago. It was frustrating that it didn't work like the MemCard Pro 1 in that I could just create new Virtual Mem cards and channels with Select+L1 and R1. But this helps. I just want to be able to save multiple save versions of the same game that are on different memory cards.
when attempting to paste into ch2 it says paste failed. using a different version 'ulaunchelf 4.43_isr' works if u get stuck here

Thanks for the guide on how to transfer (and split) saves. Might not be super simple for non tech-savvy users, but should be doable. Also, you can leave the Powershell execution policy on remotesigned, it's not posing any security risk.
Side note: are you using a mono microphone? Sounds like your voice track is mostly on the left channel, making it sound a bit weird/unpleasant. Should be enough to "mirror" that track to the other channel, that way your voice gets "centered" again.

Hey, sorry if this has been asked before but i couldn't find any comment with the same problem.
So i have this strange problem with the file transfer, whenever I get into wLaunchelf 4.43x_isr and then create a new VMC it always says the new VMC has 0mb of free space in launchelf. I've tried creating the vmc in the webUi beforehand and even if I change into a preexisting automatically generated MC it's always 0mb discspace and I can't copy anything over. The only VMC that shows to work is the original FMCB one.
Oh also the cards created are always 8mb.
But still thank you for your tutorial it helped me greatly with getting FMCB to run and everything else

question: if you setup the memcard pro2 to be the boot card for FMCB (memory card 1) and don't want to use the gameID feature, does that mean you have to manually change the channel/memory card to an empty one in order to save your games? (since most of the 8MB block is already taken up by FMCB files/apps. I prefer to use the 8MB card size due to compatibility reasons.).
it appears that when you boot a game in opl, the memcard pro 2 stays on the original FMCB channel/card and does not automatically switch to a free channel/card, hence, there is no free storage left for save files. it would be quite a hinderance to manually change the channel/card by pressing the button each time. not sure if i am missing something?
seems like this special version of OPL+gameID crashes on the boot screen. funny enough, an old version, OPL 1.1.0, boots fine and even has gameID functionality despite being several years old. not sure what is going on haha.

I got all my saves from PCSX2 split up and on to the MCP2, but wondering if there is an easy way to go back? PCSX2 has the option of using a save folder now (like Dolphin), but those saves are the extracted files, and a lot of the tools expect saves to be on a memory card binary or in psu/max/psv/etc format.
It's kind of a bummer that it forces wifi configuration, and refuses to go to the configuration screens without it. I'm sure if I knew the URL for the inside pages, it'd all be there, which makes it more frustrating, if anything.

Great video. My Freemcboot memory card finally died, so I ended up unboxing my memcard pro 2 I was waiting to configure and followed this video.
I'm having an issue though with my HDD not always being able to be recognized in OPL grimdoomer, and also the triangle button for game settings does not work. It will flash quickly and then go back to the games menu. Another odd quirk is when I do get the HDD to load the games list, if I hit right on the Dpad, the list goes away, and I can't get it back. (This HDD worked fine with my other FMCB memory card setup)
This happens with the Grimdoomer that's on your preflashed file here, and also the newest Grimdoomer that I tried to install as well. Any idea what's up? Thank you. Like and subscribed.

Just got my mcp2 and trying to set it up now. It updated firmware and now I’m onto the wifi stage. However, when I press and hold the buttons, it just says “Release to home page”. Any help?

Is the game save splitting section only needed because you transferred from old memory? As in would it split new games by itself? Or is that not a feature built in and you need to do the work
This is a great video on one of the first to showcase the MemCard Pro2. I received mine over a week ago and just now getting it setup with one of my phat models (the other has the modchip).
I was able to install FMCB on the Pro2 with the default MemoryCard1 along with OPL. Still trying to figure how to do the IGR as once a new card for a game has been made it leaves the MemoryCard1 so if the combo is pressed it may not return to the OPL screen.
You can't use IGR unless you manually change the card back to the default boot card
just for clarification, you don't need MX4SIO and you can run games and loader from memcard 2 pro alone?
No, MemCard Pro 2 acts just like a normal memory card

How do I get the prebuilt image you have given us to also work with an MX4SIO card? I can’t get it to see the thing. I tried to copy files over from a working FMB MX4SIO card but that didn’t work lol.
It's not splitting the files for me hopefully I can figure out what is wrong, but then again I'm having to eject the memcardpro2 from the slot and put it back in for the games to get loaded. Just got it the other day and was following this and manual for setup. Just need to figure out what the deal is now. Thanks for the video.
Question for you: Which of the OPL files in the OPL GameID zip file do you use?
There are four files, none of which have an explanation - they end in _GEM or _LD or things like that.

Im struggling. I hold the two buttons down and it tells me to release for the main menu..... let it go and nothing happens. Sigh...
i got past it by holding the left button only and releasing when it says release for menu, and navigating the menu to wifi, left button moves and right selects

Im running into a bit of a pickle where on startup it is automatically launching LaunchELF and I dont know how to get it to land on the FreeMcBoot extended PS2 menu :(
I was trying to do the ps3 adapter utility, but the memory card is not showing up at all. I was able to do everything else.
i just got mine in the mail and when i try and press down the two buttons it doesnt pull up wifi settings it tries to pull up main menu but then glitches out and doesnt actually show it to me?
Just got mine as well. According to their support, it's changed. You now hold the left button for a menu, navigate with the left button and select with the right button. The rest is straight-forward.

Can I switch back to the original boot than fcmb on the fly? Some games like problems with fcmb such as Guitar Hero 3 where audio bugs happen.
I usually just disconnect my fcmb memory card and plug in an original ps memory card whenever I want to play GH3

Hello! seeking help. I'm having a problem that, when I launch a game through OPL, the Memcard Pro 2 seems to switch to the game's memory card before OPL can finish loading the game, and my PS2 will just hang at a black screen. OPL GD works fine from another memory card in the second slot. Any advice?
Sorry for another question but what would be the reason for the memcard pro to show up fragmented file when I put the fcmb 64mb file on sd card? I’ve used two different sd cards and both have had same issue?

Until IGR IS fixed to tell MCP2 to load default boot card I’ll use my dvd remote on my slim console to power off and on. Not ideal but no way I’ll be doing that single card setup. MGS3 etc don’t like anything bigger that 8mb
IGR doesn't need to be "fixed", but additional code added to call for the change.
We currently try an alternative method, which seems to work quite well (even with OPL 0.9.3 and the PS2-Menu).
Thank you for the tutorial, ordered my card now. Quick question, do you think it would be difficult to be able to copy back and forth between the card and pcsx2 for play? Like, playing on OG hardware and then pcsx2 on the go (steamdeck) and then back on ps2? Maybe some sort of automated cloud save or ftp script? Just thinking of options to switch between them.
It's not very streamlined for that use right now
did this too but i got a Ps2\Ps1 Ps3 card reader and connected to pc and used the app Anthony to read the cards and then transfer save file to split app
Hmm wenn pressing the two Buttons it says "release for main menu", when i release it, nothing happens and the message stays.
Pressing both buttons again causes the same message, pressing one alone just changes the Memory Card. The Wifi doesn't activate.

The MemCard Pro 2 doesn't act as an MX4SIO card. GSM is built into OPL.

On my official PS2 8mb memory card, i am going attempting to copy my saves over to the MCP2 but they are not appearing in LaunchElf - its just completely empty in mc1 although the memory card is inserted. I have reset the system, removed memory card etc but nothing coming up! Any ideas?
Also.- I saw your vid about the discs now working with GameID as well for the memory card, however, I am finding that any game I start it is not picking it up. i am on 0.99.8 so believe it should be working? EDIT: Didnt realise i needed the MX4SIO inserted whilst running a disc for this to work! Worked right away as soon as I did this!

After following the steps and checking my spelling it seems like .\split.ps1 refuses to be recognized. I did try running the powershell script through right-click > run with powershell and executes then. Should I worry about running the script like this? Is there a good reason for running the script with admin powershell?

@@ArchadesGames Ah, that's not what I meant. I recently received my MemCard Pro 2 and I have never used OPL before. This tutorial assumes that the person already has OPL setup with a different memory card. I was wondering if you could make one for newcomers to the PS2 mod community. As it stands, I have the MemCard Pro 2 setup but I don't know how to utilize OPL.
I'm still not sure if what I'm saying is clear. What I mean is that I followed the tutorial and I have OPL on Memory Card 1 and it shows up on my PS2. But, after having searched through many other tutorials online, I'm still unable to get OPL to recognize the games on my hard drive. So, a tutorial that is updated for 2024 that goes from start to finish and explains even what the different apps are for... that would be super beneficial. Compared to getting other consoles setup, via soft mods or ODEs, the PS2 is not very well documented and kinda annoying lol!

I wouldn't, they all use the same OS folder structure so there are likely to be conflicts.
Is there a way to drag and drop via wifi, a save file I downloaded? I have tried drag and drop onto the SD but even after manually creating a save there is no folder to browse to on the SD card.
You need a tool to manage the virtual memory cards on a computer or copy it to USB and add it to the MCP2 through launch elf

EDIT: i guess that was an issue with my desktop tho, i was able to do it on my laptop... weird thing is, I only got 22 games out of it, even though i know its wayyy more.. I used a 32GB Memcard file for the splitting, maybe that was the issue?
yeah i guess some were corrupt, or maybe the program was failing to recognize them, so it stopped doing the entire chain... took a while doing them a few at a time til i figured out which were stopping it.. lol idk, took all night but I finally migrated everything PS2 and PS1 across 2 memcardPro2's lol

I did every thing up to the point where its scaning my network (I'm using my IPhone to do this) And it does not get passed the scaning page? I just continues to keep scaning?? For some reason the PS2 folder on the SD card after the intial setup there is a folder called SLUS-20467 instead of the memoryCar1-1.mc2 file, and it keeps show that file or game Tomb raider on the oled screen of the card so confused where that comes from, so even if i put that FMCB file in it doesnt do anything
you loaded a game while doing the initial setup. You have to manually make the card in your webui now and then replace it with my premade one.

Apologies if this is mentioned, but how do you switch Mempro 2 between PS1and PS2 mode in the actual console I thought it would just switch automatically based on the game but It switched to PS1 mode and I can't get it back to PS2 mode...
Hold the left button then release to open the menu when the prompt appears. Then select the switch function. Or use the web UI.
Just was looking for clarification, we can’t use in game reset with a mx4sio and mem card pro 2. We can’t use in game rest, We need to shut console off and reboot?

You have to use OPL on PS2 or an ODE/Modded BIOS on PS1 for per game cards

I have a question and hope someone can help me. Everything worked good with the tutorial. I am using Grimdoomer's OPL with an exFAT HDD and the games show up and runs. The thing is I can't get into the per game options menu. When I press Triangle in OPL on a game it kicks me back to the menu. Some games need to do a bit of settings to work. Anyone else have this problem as well?

You don't need Grimdoomers for MX4SIO and I already have Grimdoomers on the image.

hmm is the idea here that if I in-game reset it will return to the PS2 Browser and not boot into the FreeMcBoot (MemoryCard1) memory card? On a hard reset of the console it does as expected, but not when using in-game reset. If I have my second dedicated FreeMcBoot memory card in the second slot it will pull from that one and work (which is why I thought it was working initially), but when removed it doesn't.
Yes, in-game reset doesn't reset the card state so you would need a dedicated FMCB card in slot 2 if you don't want to do hard resets.
I use the web interface on my phone and I've been manually mounting the FMB mem card manually before I soft reset.
That's a good way to do it if you don't want to do a full reset

Just got my Memcard Pro 2 and it does the same thing. My ps2 has a matrix chip. My original freemcboot worked fine. Did you ever find a fix for this?

When you do the thing in powershell to separate all the saves to their own card…why do you type in “PS1” at 18:40 when it’s the ps2 games you’re splitting

You can only use Game ID with the ID enabled OPL. And you can't emulate PS2 on a PS2.

So I am totally new to this whole thing and I was able to get the files over to the SD card and such but for some reason my PS2 Phat isnt booting the FreeMcboot on first startup. Is there something I'm missing?

FMCB doesn't require a HDD to boot the modded menu. Do a soft rest of the system once you know you have it set to the right card.

So I followed step by step but when I launch anything from the FMB home screen the screen turns dark black and never loads. ULaunch, FMB Config, OPL, None load, just dark black screen. Using 8mb image if that helps.

Launching something give black screen and MemCardPro screen light reduce (sign of no activity detected?), no problem with a chinese FMCB card. I have a japanese PS2 with GEM shiny a mod chip and I'm using a 4to exFat SSD with Grim OPL.
Found a solution, I downgrade version of FMCB to 1.953 and it's working. Put a FMCB memory car in slot 1, put memcardpro in slot 2, put FMCB installer on a USB key (customize the files before (OPL, FMCB CFG and OPL CFG), then boot and install FMCB on the memcardpro
Everything works great so far except that grimdoomer build im not sure if im not doing soemthing wrong or what but i have the 2 settings im suppose too set to auto. Ill have too toggle these settings on and off for a while for my games to finally show up and if i go into settings again after they show up even if i dont touch anything all my games dissappear again! Id really appreciate any help if anyone knows any solutions or tips?? Everything else works perfect besides this!
The games on mt HDD no longer show up on this version of OPL. If i use my previous memory card with an older version of OPL it works. Any ideas on what to do?
