Please do a series using different mediums! Things like clay sculpting, needle felting, charcoal, soft pastels, oil pastels or even coffee art! Love your videos, they have helped me heaps throughout last year
And even if you don’t graduate “on time” that doesn’t make all the hard work you did to earn your degree any less valid. Life happens and graduating “on time” isn’t always possible so please don’t beat yourself up!
I always enjoy the yearly portraits! It's so cool to see how your style evolves year-to-year and to watch what medium/challenge you go with each time! Also I really loved all the art on this one and the positive reflection of last year. Keep creating Marie!
The copper portrait came together beautifully! The likeness is wonderful and the copper shine really adds a neat element to the art. I normally don’t like those scratch art panels, but the copper is very unique.
I can't wait to "meet" the kitty!!!! It will be interesting to see Sally's reaction. Beautiful work and beautiful positive thoughts, thanks for sharing!
I LOVE your yearly portraits, and this one was another unexpected delight! Also, Sally's disapproval of cold snow on her cute little paws is such a mood!
Great result! I remember doing those pre-printed ones, it was relaxing - and a major mess. When I saw the thumbnail I was convinced you'd be making a stamp
I love all the different art styles and art "trends" that the yearly self portrait shows! The inverted color one is really neat, and I think this year's turned out fantastically.
Your art inspires me to draw more than trees, I'm glad you are able to start supporting yourself with your art. Wishing you positive vibes and thoughts.
Beautiful! I think your lovely face is definitely worth preserving for posterity. Thank you for being such a positive inspiration. My goal is the same as every year: I strive to always be an honest and positive voice and to treat others as I wish to be treated.
You are so creative and talented! I have used these scratchboards before and they seem so limiting for portrait art. The fact that you were able to create such a beautiful self-portrait with this tool really speaks to your abilities. Thanks for another inspiring video!
I was wondering if you will make a self portrait this year. I can't believe how amaizing it looks. I hope for this year to be good for you, and everyone out there. 2020 was a strange year personally. There were a lot of changes for me, but 2021 it starting awesome. And I thank a lot to have a job, a place to live and health for me and my family, as you said, things that we gave for granted. Have a great year, Mary.
I really like your self portrait. Thank you for being so daring to commit to using whatever was in the box. My main goal is to make more lemonade from life's lemons. I have two streaks that I don't want to lose. That is a goal of sorts. I have been sketching or doing other art for 453 days (as of today) and I have a seven year plus exercise streak (432 weeks in a row as of today) Each week has had a minimum of four days with a minimum of 30 minutes each day. Thank you for enjoyable videos.
That portrait looks SO good, OMG! I wish I had those boards here in my town, too! It looks so cool! And I imagine it would make a great gift for friends (I'm obsessed with gifting art and hand-made stuff to my friends since i was a kid lol), too!
I've been looking forward to this piece for so long! XD I love the yearly redraws, yours and Drawwiffwaffles have inspired me to do a yearly redraw as well! This looks so pretty I love the copper! My goals this year, well I have managed to upload an art video every week on time for 10 weeks! So keeping that up all year is my main goal. I've also been walking over a mile every morning and I want to keep that up!
This year I want to finally start my watercolour and gouache lessons that I purchased late last year. I love your self portraits every year, this looked very challenging!!
I wish you all the success and happiness possible in 2021. Can't wait to see the kitten. Have a great Sunday. The self portraits are fab but I prefer the 2020 one.
Wow you’ve done great with those scratch boards, I remember getting a pak of 6 when I was a child from Santa! Yep a few years ago now. Himmm goals for this year, I’m thinking I might do a kids book, based around my dragons, maybe ....... ok I’m gonna give this a good go. Friends say my painting is so like an old children’s book like Beatrice Potter but I draw Si-fi / fantasy pictures so this is my goal. We get to see your kitten! Fantastic can’t wait, kitty time today was so cute going out in the snow, aww someone doesn’t like getting his paws wet. Loved your overviews of portraits at the end. Great picture again.
Beautiful self portrait ! I just became a member of your Patreon 2 days ago. That’s 1 thing I can on my 2021 to do list I can cross off. My art goals are to study realism again, get better at making cat & fox illustrations and paint on every canvas that I own (40 I guess)
Royal and Langnickel actually make engraving art sets where the pictures are actually printed onto the scratchboard/paper. They are a lot more fun because the guidelines are already there. I would have thought that it would have been better for them to at least include one or two in the box to give you some practice before they just chuck you in with the blank pages. I have been doing these on and off over the years since I was a teenager and I do enjoy them as a break/completely different type of art as it gives me a kind of refresher. They do rainbow, metallic, holographic and glow in the dark versions too and all sorts of different designs from nature/animals to fantasy pictures etc. Definitely worth picking up for anyone who is stuck in an art rut/block or wants to try something a bit different.
My big art goal is to design and sell merch, it's something I always wanted to try. I also want to practice drawing full body pictures more since I rely heavily on simple chibi art, and I wanna be more well rounded. Good luck on your coloring book!
Compliments, you did a great job in this video, because when I got THAT box... well... I’ve started to make video but after I’ve opened it I couldn’t invent nothing immediately... so probably during 2021 I will create something using that strange kit of supplies.... Your video inspires:)
Can't wait to see the new baby!!! Awesome video, paletteful packs also had a scratch board products and I didn't like it at all, I'm glad you could do something good ^^
I‘m so happy for you (That you are doing so Good so far , with RUclips and all )!!! 🤗😁 Also you helped me be inspired an Draw more in the Last year ! 😄 Also, also i‘m very exited for the coloring Book !!
I hope you know there's no shame in promoting stuff like your patreon. We all love you art and your personality and want to support you, especially now that you are living completely off selling your art! Also I really loved the copper scratch-board portrait! Also, I would totally buy a coloring book from you omg. Your art is perfect for that
The point of scratch board is to use different levels of pressure to produce various widths and depths, thus producing shades of the background color. You also are meant to use the different tools to help in varying line width/weights.
I was super excited to see that subscription box (I absolutely love this kind of things, to test new supplies, especially that not everything is available in Poland at all) and then I saw the price. Okay, it's not tragic, but it's pretty high. And then I saw the shipping costs (15$) aaaaand the whole idea just died for me .________. But heck, I'm super eager to see what you're going to do this year ♥♥♥
This looks lovely!! I love seeing you experiment with new media. Also, don't apologize for self promo on your own channel!! We're here to follow YOU!! Please tell us this stuff!! hehe
My goal for 2021 is to get my right hand working again. Having a stroke really messes a person up. Your whole side goes down and it's making new pathways in the brain trying to get it working again that's the issue. I miss drawing so darned much and canceled Smart Art Box because I use my right hand and I'm awful with my left so I felt I was wasting money getting art supplies that I wouldn't be using. So that's my goal. I'm back taking occupational therapy and the therapist says I am improving but it's taking so long. Urgh! I hate that it's taking so much time to get my right side working again. At least I can open the refrigerator door, I just can't hold it open. At least it's progress, sort of. The Botox I'm taking helps to. Relaxes my hand otherwise it would be curled into my hand. 🙂. Your portrait was beautiful. I looked for Decembers box but it was sold out🙁 Although I can't draw like I use to, I can make shapes and the board would be perfect for that. Oh well. Can't wait to see your new kitten. 🙂
this year my goal is to improve on bigger scale drawings too since i had only worked in small scales like 15x15 cm. i have tackled 35x50 cm drawing, still working on it. i hope i can pull it off ;_;
I use the point of a compass or artist metal etching tool but you can't press on too hard as you don't want to damage the foil underneath. These tools in the kit aren't very good at all. The compass gives very fine lines. My work is as fine as pencil drawings with very sharp points. The tools are very cheap ones mean't for kids so they aren't very sharp. I bought the set for £1. Your portrait looked amazing. You can also use coloured inks to paint in the etching to change the colours. All your portraits looked fab. The one with the red hair 2014 was stunning, and you looked really beautiful on 2018. They are all really lovely. Do you do your husband's portraits too?
My goal this year is to finally publish my webcomic. I've been working on it and talking about it for years now and I've never gotten the courage up to actually publish it. So, that's the goal. I refuse to be one of those people that forever talks about their personal project and never does it.
The noise from the scratchboard would get on my nerves sooo much, I know not to try that now lol. I really like how the copper art turned out! The other pieces turned out nice too, hope the supplies didn't drive you too crazy!
Can I ask you please, the music that you are using in your videos, are you paying for it, or do you use any free source? I am planning to start my own channel and don`t want to use copyrighted products to avoid problems. PS: I will use RUclips Studio for my first video, but would like to know for the future. Thank you So much in advance. Love your contents. Please continue to create amazing art and thank you for the opportunity to buy merch on RedBubble :) Much love :)
Katt, how much would you charge for making a painting from a photograph? I live in the UK. Can you give me an estimate for a landscape A4 size watercolour painting of myself and my husband from our mid chest upwards. How can I get an estimate from You?
Please do a series using different mediums! Things like clay sculpting, needle felting, charcoal, soft pastels, oil pastels or even coffee art! Love your videos, they have helped me heaps throughout last year
years goal:survive and graduate in time
SAME
Fu**in mood....
And even if you don’t graduate “on time” that doesn’t make all the hard work you did to earn your degree any less valid. Life happens and graduating “on time” isn’t always possible so please don’t beat yourself up!
Lol I'm surviving but certainly not graduating as early as I'd thought a year ago :')
I always enjoy the yearly portraits! It's so cool to see how your style evolves year-to-year and to watch what medium/challenge you go with each time! Also I really loved all the art on this one and the positive reflection of last year. Keep creating Marie!
I'm looking forward to the Patreon sketch book, possible coloring book, and most importantly your new kitten!
The portrait turned out so gorgeous! It's so minimalistic, yet satisfying to look at!
The copper portrait came together beautifully! The likeness is wonderful and the copper shine really adds a neat element to the art. I normally don’t like those scratch art panels, but the copper is very unique.
New kitten! Aww, a little brother or sister for Sally.
I hope Sally is looking forward to being a big sister to her new little brother. Great art as always. xx
This made me realise I've already been subscribed for 3 years!! Honestly I think this worked out great :)
I can't wait to "meet" the kitty!!!! It will be interesting to see Sally's reaction. Beautiful work and beautiful positive thoughts, thanks for sharing!
This turned out really cool! The way the hair looks is so satisfying!
Art goals?!- you know what that sounds like a really good idea, it's good to set goals for everything, so why not art? :D
I love all the different art styles and art "trends" that the yearly self portrait shows! The inverted color one is really neat, and I think this year's turned out fantastically.
i love how you embrace the new techniques those boxes throw at you!
Your art inspires me to draw more than trees, I'm glad you are able to start supporting yourself with your art. Wishing you positive vibes and thoughts.
Everyone needs goals. You're art is amazing by the way
okay someone had to say it- I absolutely *love* the way you say 'sticker'
Aww, Sally shaking her little paws 🐾! I can't wait to see the coloring book!
Beautiful! I think your lovely face is definitely worth preserving for posterity. Thank you for being such a positive inspiration.
My goal is the same as every year: I strive to always be an honest and positive voice and to treat others as I wish to be treated.
That is a goal we should all try to live up to.
Your portrait is amazing! It shows your talent and skill that you can pick up such a different medium and make something amazing from it.
My art goals is to experiment more and draw more things which just make me happy!!
You are so creative and talented! I have used these scratchboards before and they seem so limiting for portrait art. The fact that you were able to create such a beautiful self-portrait with this tool really speaks to your abilities. Thanks for another inspiring video!
Hahaha Sally at the end like "Nope, too cold!" - I think she may be my spirit animal 😂
I haven’t mastered using one of those reflection boards.
I was wondering if you will make a self portrait this year. I can't believe how amaizing it looks. I hope for this year to be good for you, and everyone out there. 2020 was a strange year personally. oh my god, the sound! it makes my skin crawl and I get heebie-jeebies brr! I couldn't work with that artbox even if I really wanted to haha
I’m just trying to make it less depressing than last year. It was so boring without being able to see my mum or our friends.
That portrait looks SO good, OMG! I wish I had those boards here in my town, too! It looks so cool! And I imagine it would make a great gift for friends (I'm obsessed with gifting art and hand-made stuff to my friends since i was a kid lol), too!
Wow! I really love the portrait you created! The copper Papier looks really nice ♥️
Im so happy with you being self employed and being your own boss 👍❤️
Those supplies looked scary but your pictures looked fantastic!
I've been looking forward to this piece for so long! XD I love the yearly redraws, yours and Drawwiffwaffles have inspired me to do a yearly redraw as well!
This looks so pretty I love the copper!

I love the portrait! So shiny.
My art goal is to just to start a RUclips channel for art .. I really love drawing and your are one of my fav artist ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This year I want to finally start my watercolour and gouache lessons that I purchased late last year. I love your self portraits every year, this looked very challenging!!
Love the portrait and as always your goals. Would love to see you do more portraits. Good luck with your goals and I'll be tuning in...love to Sally.

Omg, you should make your own art box! Obviously your viewers like artboxes.... we'd buy to support you!
Oh I would love that!
Just saw this was uploaded on my 11th birthday...I just started watching btw....and I love it! Because I adore cats! Also portrait is Amazing!
I had to put my Etsy on hold too. I didn't want to go out unless absolutely necessary. Hope 2021 is kinder to us all :)
Okay, that paper is so cool!

This looks lovely!! I love seeing you experiment with new media. Also, don't apologize for self promo on your own channel!! We're here to follow YOU!! Please tell us this stuff!! hehe
A very good video! Love the art!
Hi kattvak I hope you a safe and happy 2021
These look awesome!
Just an FYI, the sharp edge on the tools (handle) can be used to scratch wide areas, though I never much cared for the effect.
Beautiful artwork
I wanna try to get my small art business going. making stickers, pins, keychains, shirts. that and just grow as an artist in general.
My goals are to branch out and experiment a bit, different styles and such
Awesome a new kitten and i sure miss being on ur patreon mayb ill get to soon once i straighten out my payment plan
Thumbs up for the funny sound at the start XD

Ive noticed in some of your videos you use a red or blue lead/mechanical pencil for sketching, may i ask what brand it is or what its called?
this year my goal is to improve on bigger scale drawings too since i had only worked in small scales like 15x15 cm. i have tackled 35x50 cm drawing, still working on it. i hope i can pull it off ;_;

Katt, a cat calender of your art work, ready to buy for 2022, would be nice.
This is the first time I've seen you and I just realized I always pictured you with long black hair for some reason :O
Oh it was a long time ago since I had black long hair, but I did have it for a while 😄
My goal this year is to finally publish my webcomic. I've been working on it and talking about it for years now and I've never gotten the courage up to actually publish it. So, that's the goal. I refuse to be one of those people that forever talks about their personal project and never does it.

I really like how the copper art turned out! The other pieces turned out nice too, hope the supplies didn't drive you too crazy!
When you know how to do it it doesn't sound like that AT ALL. As someone that actually uses scratchboard... yeah. She's just super bad at it XD
I'll have to be sure to look up some tutorials if I ever try it then lol, I hate that sound so much! XD
@@ZeshaTheCat If you are noise sensitive, it can also help to use exacto blades- which cut through this like butter. (on the heavier clay ones)
@@SilvrWingsDragon I will definitely keep that in mind! Thank you. :)
Ooof i hated that art medium when i was at art school, i was shit at it, you really did well tho !
Love your videos, how long has it been since you've last drawn my little pony drawings? Love you have a wonderful day!!
Use a wide brushes which bob Ross use for Trees.
To errace the dust.
You guys don't has online postal services?
Katt, how much would you charge for making a painting from a photograph? I live in the UK. Can you give me an estimate for a landscape A4 size watercolour painting of myself and my husband from our mid chest upwards. How can I get an estimate from You?
As someone that actually uses scratchboard... I wish I could just discord with you and show you how to use it a lot easier.
My Art Goal 2021: Create unapologetically! Start projects impulsively. Stop letting anxiety stop me from making art.
Fully immersed in depression last
😊💕
😃
My art goal this year is to post more art??? Since I'm always working on drawings but often too anxious or tired to edit and post anything
😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
My goals are to become a RUclipsr and improve on my art!
My goals are to graduate w my class, set up an Etsy shop, and actually restart my channel and not just have a strange amount of subs with 0 videos
Also commission my fellow cosplayers, maybe a red bubble too, get my drivers license
My goals: add stuff to my business, start a etsy shop, start a business Instagram account, do more art, and turn 13!!!!!!!
Hey Katt, I'm noob hobbyist artist with a RUclips channel to showcase my progress in art. My 2021 resolution is not to buy any new art supply in 2021.
Sees the engraving pens, breathing intensively 😬
