Great video, appreciate it. I have a 1998 Previa that I bought for $1000 about 10 years ago in the UK. Use it for work (gardener) and have tried to do as much as I could on it fixing wise. I have a lot of respect for these mini vans. Thanks for sharing. I just bought some pads and will get the boys involved when they arrive.
Great video Chris. One thing though - you're making a meal of it using a lever to push the piston back. 'Bottoming' the piston using a G- (or C-) clamp with a piece of wood to support the piston is MUCH easier. Also, depending on the brake fluid level, the cameraman should have been running around to the master cylinder reservoir to check it doesn't overflow! Source: did this pad replacement on mine.
Thanks for the info, The Master cylinder was drained before I started. My wife was the cameraman and would not no the difference between a brake master cylinder or the windshield washer fluid haha.
For anyone watching it's a good idea to smear abit of anti seize on the backing plate of the pads and rubber grease on those sliding pins before they go back in
Hey chris planing to buy a toyota estima 2000 model 53km have driven. What do u suggest me to check on the vehicle before buying it Chris? thank you GBU.
Check all fluids oil, coolant and transmission fluid. Make sure the A/C works in the back as well as the front. I see the upper engine mount look bad on a lot of these so you can check that. Front struts and rear shocks to make sure they are not leaking oil. Tyres, Brakes

You are actually the best RUclipsr out... as the proud owner of a declining '01 Tarago I appreciate this series immensely

See you done all replacing part of your Tarago by yourself. Great workmanship Chris. Not everyone can do like you
if you keep the top bolt in on the caliper you can swing it up like a hinge and then it will be easier to replace
Thank you for your video =) working on my Previa ACR30

Thanks again Chris. Have you done a tutorial on how to tighten up the parking brake on the Tarago?
Not yet but it is similar to drum brakes
Great work Chris 👍, cheers 😎 🎵 🎵 🎵 🎸 🎼

Chris Blair thank you appreciate for your time 🙏🏻GOD BLESS YOU and your family
Hey what brakes pads fit this van ? I’m in Canada and I can’t find anything for it , I have a 2000 estima 3.0
I bought these thru Ebay the brand was Bosch. There was other brands like DBA and Bendix
@@chrisbiker919 okay but you know what other car would fit this ? Maybe Camry ?
@@Johnniericardo Not sure on that, best bet would be to take a set out and try and match them up at a local parts store
@@chrisbiker919 I’m gonna do that !
Is it the same procedure for the ACR50?
I would think so.
Hi, are the rear brakes same size as the front? thanks.
The rear brakes are smaller than the front and the pads are a lot smaller.
@@chrisbiker919 Thanks for the reply mate, glad i didn't buy 2 sets of front now. cheers.
My front pads wore out twice as fast as the Rears did. Next time the front need replacing I will do a video for that too.
Good man.
Keeping the child away from the wrenched up vehicle. Health and safety concerns.
