    Got the S90D a week or so ago and couldn’t be more happy. Going to a QD-OLED has transformed all of my favorite games thats i am going back and replaying all of them like it’s the first time again. The HDR picture even on the most accurate settings pops like i have never seen before. QD-OLED always.

    After watching your video I bought the G4. The motion and the clarity are great. Put when playing video games, like call of duty and halo the picture looks dull and the color also. Tried everything in the settings and it doesn't elevate any of the problems. So decided to return and try the s95d and it is a night and day difference. The colors are so much more colorful and the picture is way more brighter. The guns in call of duty just glow off the screen. The only thing I see the g4 do better is the motion but everything else the s95d dose way better. Hopefully this helps someone that is undecided.

      @beammeupscottsp7952 yea the samsung s95d is way more colorful. I thought the G4 was gonna be a little less colorful but it's a big difference. Like in call of duty when you call in a care package the smoke grenade is like grey light blue on the G4 and on the s95d is a bright purple vivid blue and jumps of the screen. And I watched a couple of animes and the colors are just more vivid it's crazy how much it glows on the s95d. I wanted to like the G4 because everybody says it's the best tv because of the motion and brightness and a better Ai chip and I guess it's more future proof with it's dolby vision and higher hdmi gb. But the samsung just looks so much better in person. Sorry to ramble. Just trying to help. Thanks.

      They are both really great and as you can see in the video they definitely trade blows, I like the image quality of the G4 better when it comes to movies and shows so I lean towards the LG G4, but the G4 can suffer with HDR color loss on it’s default tone mapping but these examples aren’t super common. S95D is the more capable TV in regards to luminance but G4 still looks brighter in most content. In game mode S95D wins color while the G4 has the edge with flexible HDR brightness like I showed with the sports games using DTM on.

      @@TechWithKG FYI.. I think there is an issue to address with using professional mode in gaming.
      If using HGIG, switching to professional mode does not make anything brighter when assessing the brightest colours and highlights. When you demo this, that seems to be happening, but I think that's a result of using a splitter. In multiple games ive tested on the G4, there is no brightness advantage or additional colour detail to be had in HDR games. This needs to be made clear to people.
      Lowering the peak value from 100 down to 0 you can see some additional brightness details. But no added brightness or saturation. At 100, it's the same as HGIG.
      It's not the case with movies. That works well there. But for game content this "hack" does not work as intended.
      Again, I think this is an issue because when using a splitter you cannot set the peak luminance correctly for multiple TVs.

      Both have really excellent game modes, with little compromise the G4 is brighter overall. A95L would be similar in color brightness to the S90D in this video for its game mode. The A95L will have a cleaner game image virtually no color banding but if there is smooth gradation does work unlike the G4 which does have color banding and no real way to clean it up. Hi, a curiosity...
    who among Sony, Panasonic and LG performs the best upscaling and who has the best motion processor for SDR streaming content?
    I would like to get the best live viewing for streaming sports content compressed with h264 and h265 codecs for example.
    Panasonic has now improved with the new MZ2000 models and with the new mk2 processor on Z95A on this side and I've seen LG has also improved...
    Sony still remains a point of reference or have things changed? I saw that Panasonic uses an IFC Accurate for Upscaling. In conclusion, how are Sony Panasonic and LG positioned in this area?
    Thanks again Denis.

Dark/night scenes that were once impossible to watch on my old Sony X900E are actually viewable. I think the anti glare tech is impressive as it makes actually seeing what’s in a dark scene possible during the day versus a reflection of myself and whatever is around me during a dark scene. A lot of the online feedback is making me doubt my choice though as if this G4 is just superior. Is it that bright and clear that the reflections won’t be as distracting? I somehow doubt it…

    • @TechWithKG
      @TechWithKG  7 месяцев назад +4

      I wouldn’t worry too much about it unless it’s big technology jumps it’s usually minor things separating it if we’re talking similar price ranges, I think most shouldn’t worry about upgrading year to year. • @TechWithKG
      @TechWithKG  7 месяцев назад +3

      S90D is because it has QD OLED so you’ll see a color difference between the two, this was a technology jump WOLED is older tech QD OLED was newly introduced to improve on a lot of its shortcomings. Now in regards to brightness for that price bracket while it’s noticeably brighter than the C2 it will still be good for most content. C2 to the C3 wasn’t a huge jump and even C2 to C4 isn’t a giant leap either it’s just a peak brightness increase to get it closer to S90C / S90D. If you had bought a S90C for example it really wouldn’t be worth it to get a S90D as they are so similar. Another example is A80J from Sony that’s still very similar to the A80K and A80L, so I think unless there’s a technology jump it’s just minor improvements. That said even with upgrades in technology we are limited to the content we have available and most people don’t need more than something like a c2 77 inch like you have. I think your set for a few more years at least enjoy your C2!

    I really enjoy your content and thanks for your effort! However, I have a important question on this one:
    Do I assume correctly that these TVs were not professionally calibrated? Therefore this a out of the box comparison. Having in mind that Samsung very often over saturates their colors, this could make a viewer think that in certain scenes Samsung S95C/S90D has a higher color brightness compared to the LG G4, while actually LG just shows a more accurate picture. Right?
    If this is the case, there should be a disclaimer in the video so that people understand this. Otherwise they might pay a lot of money for a TV based on a false assumption. Without a proper calibration of all TVs, it is hard to compare them....

    The LG C4 use to be the bar for Gaming. What happened?

    • @TechWithKG
      @TechWithKG  2 месяца назад +1

      They wanted to create a gap with their premium G series model so the C series gets left behind with major upgrades plus the emergence of QD-OLED TVs.

    So in terms of features what about response time etc, what about lg that have amd and nvidia gsync? Is that better, if you wanted to used pc games with tv? 🤷🏻‍♂️ also lg looks way better with dtm but would you use this? Would it even be avalible in game mode?

    Is it just me or they all look very choppy playing starfield? What's the FPS like? Was that the issue? I noticed my C1 is very choppy when getting "low" frames ( 60-80) in most games.

    Mate have you had any issues with the g4 having overblown whites and contrast issues? My games don't look right and I've had OLEDs for years. I can't believe my g4 is the worst Ive had

      Maybe your system HDR settings are tuned too high this can cause highlights to be blown out, are you using HGIG or DTM on?

    Does someone have a link to a clear explanation of the S95D's issues due to One Connect Box / 40 Gbps? I would ideally buy the S95D, but am planning on using it for my gaming PC (which has a 4090 RTX) and I'm seeing a fair amount of comments around black out, white noise, etc. issues but can't find an actual reason why that's happening... I would be very disappointed buying the S95D and having to compromise... Thanks!

      This was an issue with last year’s OCB for the S95C most reviewers including me had no drop outs with the S95D. It wasn’t really related to it being 40gbps. I haven’t seen many reports about black outs on the S95D except one comment but I wasn’t able to verify it with anyone else yet.

    83 C4 vs 77 G4 from 8-9 feet? HDR gaming and hdr movie streaming. Basically same price now.

    That color brightness and gradations of color on the S95D is impressive. Just wish the processing was on the level of the G4 or A95L.

    • @TechWithKG
      @TechWithKG  7 месяцев назад +1

      The S95D is actually pretty good with processing in mind not too far behind the G4 but it’s a tricky topic because in a way you are very right the G4 has a perception that it’s clearer overall much like the A95L. It creates more detail and depth than any TV I’ve seen this year it uses some edge enhancing techniques and tricks to create that on top of that G4 is over sharpening the image a little bit. Samsung sharpness setting should be increased to try and get closer to this. I think in the future I’d like to see Samsung TVs put more emphasis on edge enhancing techniques and hopefully it is a toggle or slider.
