Indeed... doing that now. It takes the edge off a difficult day! It soothes yet uplifts. And sort of makes me wish I'd not given up on my guitar lessons.
This is my favorite of his. I like the album version with the violin as well. But this one is just classic beauty. There's a phrase - "The good, the true, and the beautiful." This song is really a reflection of all those things.
He has been an inspiration and, a personal hero of mine, for years now. Andy McKee finally made me feel comfortable with criticism that I'd played an acoustic as if it were a bass. This man is the definition of an artist; I will never stop listening to him. Thanks Andy
Andy comes from Topeka KS, me im in Wichita KS, 15 minutes away from where i live was a Theme Park named Joyland that was unfortunately closed down 10 years ago, and now lays there in ruin. Andy is playing with the same carnival beat as the joyland I know, and really taking me back. Joyland is HIGHLY missed here in Wichita .
This just makes me want to cry when i listen to it. the harmonics he uses and the integration of both hands is so phenomenal that i seldom have words to describe it. I am never jealous of Andy. this man is my hero and my idol.
sit back and listen and drift into a different dimension. let your mind and body become one and float into bliss. andy mckee opens the soul. gets my chi flowin.
I hope you can still watch it in a hundred years time my friend. I may not, but I'm not worried. There's nothing else than music when we're gone. Live long and prosper!
You know you have a true music video when you actually play your song for the video rather than letting the CD recording play over it Andy Mckee = Amazing
at first the melodies were hard to follow, after a couple of times understood it and now I can't stop listening to it! it is like wine, just give it a few tries and then "magnifique"
see that is where you are wrong. not only have been inspired to learn his style and tuning to help me better understand and develop my own form, but i have a friend who can play many andy mchee pieces. and they are not a joke. the pure beauty this musician plays are no less than artistic marvels and should be treated as such. jealousy can bring a man to his knees, wile inspiration can carry him to greatness.
As i can see, now a days there are a bunch of incredible acoustic guitar players all around the world. In my opinion many of them are even better than Andy when the subject is pure tecnics and skills, but this tune reminds me that no one can write songs like he does, it´s a kind of soul touch ...
WOW ... with every song that comes from your guitar I am more utterly amazed than the last. I am a long time player, myself, and I will admit, THIS is what is inspiring me to go forth with a new level of dedication. Thank you Andy.
The artwork in the background in the beginning is of the Wacky Shack and Ferris wheel of one of my favorite amusement parks in Wichita called Joyland. Too cool! They are currently restoring the park and will hopefully have it open soon.
I just love the way that by adding just a small port hole on the top side of the upper bout on his custom built Greenfield Baritone makes it sound so much more spacious. I am having a local luthier here in Portland add one to my Guild cv-2. Since all of the woods are the same as this model G4 and mine, even though the guild is a shorter scale, I am hoping to get some of the same resonance. Of course my talent as a fingerstylist pale in comparison, the sound should still get close.
Valinor VCW Starting the video with the place being withered and in black and white and throughout the course of the song colors come back to the park and birds soar and sing along and the animals and people and children come to hear a god play his tune. Let's do this!
Cody Chavez Seriously, like he's there during the day when the place seems pretty much lifeless, but then during the bridge, the lights turn on, machines and rides start creaking to life, the spirit of the park returns for just one more night.
This is an amazing song. Andy Mckee, you are a musical genius. This song has inspired me to learn the guitar inside out for the small chance of meeting, collaborating, or best of all jamming with you. You should check out Wolfville, Nova Scotia. You would love it there I'm certain, just ask Don Ross :P Peace~Jesse Potter
This with headphones on at night puts you in a different place.
Indeed... doing that now. It takes the edge off a difficult day! It soothes yet uplifts. And sort of makes me wish I'd not given up on my guitar lessons.
seriously
Seriously.
Beautiful
this guy's just.. i'm just happy he exists
Aye...Me too...
This is my favorite of his. I like the album version with the violin as well. But this one is just classic beauty. There's a phrase - "The good, the true, and the beautiful." This song is really a reflection of all those things.

masterpiece!
I love how he always use the harmonics so beautifully

Best fingerstyle guitarist out there, along with Antoine Dufour.
I friggen miss Joyland so much... It strains my heart seeing my favorite ride the Wacky Shack on the album cover...
Because of Andy Mckee I began writing a book, his songs are on repeat the whole time because they inspire me so much
This song makes me cry every time I swear! What a brilliant composition... so beautifully sad.
sit back and listen and drift into a different dimension. let your mind and body become one and float into bliss. andy mckee opens the soul. gets my chi flowin.
I want to go on a journey and take a walk through this man mind to see how things work up there... Majestic
I asked him to sign my guitar so I never forget him. In person this is the nicest person you will ever meet.
I hope you can still watch it in a hundred years time my friend. I may not, but I'm not worried. There's nothing else than music when we're gone.
Live long and prosper!
andy mcgee has the music to open the gates to heaven with
I never get tired of watching this.
There you are... with the best of all around the world...
This music is the magic drug of the future. Highly addictive but cures everything!
I just played along to this song on my mandolin for like 3 hours. Such an awesome tune.
Music Hero Legend !!!
Andy Mckee ROCKS !
Andy McKee's guitar style and playing is the equivalent of pure genius and talent.
ahhh this song is so incredible i love it
Does anyone else believe that this song is better the way it's played here, I mean, pure guitar?
this mans skill puts forth shame on my guitar playing. you have truly mastered the guitar. keep on rocking man.
Thank God, for Andy McKee, who can so well explore the potencialities of this so loved instrument of ours.
Soul healing... thank you
This may have supplanted Ebon Coast as my favorite song of your Andy. It's breathtaking.
You know you have a true music video when you actually play your song for the video rather than letting the CD recording play over it
Andy Mckee = Amazing
awesome. I'm glad hes adding more imagery and artwork into his music with the latest album.
This man convinced me to play guitar. Learned drifting within 2 years. Bought his book of tabs.
I came here to dispel a bad mood. This piece, and Andy's playing, makes everything all right again.
at first the melodies were hard to follow, after a couple of times understood it and now I can't stop listening to it! it is like wine, just give it a few tries and then "magnifique"
this just leaves me speechless.
Agree. He is getting more lyrical, complex yet very enjoyable. He makes it look so easy.
Andy McKee... one of the best guitarists ever
Andy McKee is guitar strumming genius. This is why I love great music, because of men like Andy. \\m//
He's playing the next generation of music :)
I'm not eating dinner tonight because I've been watching Andy Mckee videos all evening.

I found myself spacing out and taken somewhere else relaxing and dream-like by this mesmerizing tune. Andy McKee is the greatest =D

Now I remember why I listen to music.
This makes me want to cry...due both to it's beauty and the fact I could never play/write anything like that.
One of my favorite. It seems so complicated of a melody but at the same time it all makes sense.
gorgeous. love you andy
His music takes me places. Need I say more?
Omg sooo beautiful. Kinda makes me nostalgic
just no words....
Talk about joyland... I'm eating a lemon square, and I just discovered this guy an hour ago... so good.
WOW ... with every song that comes from your guitar I am more utterly amazed than the last.
I am a long time player, myself, and I will admit, THIS is what is inspiring me to go forth with a new level of dedication.
Thank you Andy.
my favorite song of all time
The artwork in the background in the beginning is of the Wacky Shack and Ferris wheel of one of my favorite amusement parks in Wichita called Joyland. Too cool! They are currently restoring the park and will hopefully have it open soon.
Love. Such a master of the instrument.
This song puts me to sleep in a good... relaxing, calming, almost caressing sort of way...
Andy McKee es un genio total, y que buen tema.
GO AND BUY HIS CD....surely one of the cd's worth paying for....and support his music
Elevating!!! You're a legend Andy!!
His music honestly takes you on a journey! Unreal. One of my biggest inspirations as a young guitar player!
incredible song!!!!
He envisioned an abandoned amusement park when he wrote this...he really knows how to create imagery through his music...beautiful !
So vibrant and wonderful.. I love this sound
best part of the song from 0:26 to 0:36 i literally shivered i had to play it back twice it was that beautiful
only Andy's music can put my mood from "Im going to wrench someones throat" to "i feel like giving a fireman a hug and holding a kitten." :)
Very relaxing.
This honestly is musical genius.
exceptional isn't a good enough word to describe this! you give me so much inspiration. love the sweet green trim around the guitar man!! XD
just when you thought you heard the best guitarest in the world then here comes andy mckee
Love this song :)

@TheReighnart This is his new Greenfield G2 Baritone. It a beautiful hand crafted piece of art that is made by Micheal Greenfield from Quebec.
Good stuff.
perfect
perfect !
I'm all for file sharing, but with this guy I buy all his stuff legitimately.
I can really imagine Andy playing this in an abandoned carnival setting
Yup, that would make a great video. They could do the filming at Coney Island.
Valinor VCW Starting the video with the place being withered and in black and white and throughout the course of the song colors come back to the park and birds soar and sing along and the animals and people and children come to hear a god play his tune. Let's do this!

+Vinura Witharanage There's actually a abandoned amusement park called joyland.
Lion The cool lion Oh yeah, a few video on it too. Greenery everywhere, barely any space.

this just inspires me to want to play acoustic guitar :)
this man loves music like you love your wife or girlfriend.
Very nice!!!
I'm gonna see him tonight at Mexico City!
I was humming the orchestral parts =P. I wish there was an MP3 of the orchestral parts available so I could play along with it.
when i die and my life flashes before me, this will be the background music
What? Oh my go...no way, what? That's incredible.
Oh yea! , i remember that!
@BassandLongboardguy
Ha ha, yeah good luck!
You're so original
@ILESGDM No, drop D is standard tuning with the low E string tuned down to a D. So DADGBE.
There should be no dislikes for this.
i went to see him play and he signed my guitar and shook my hand

I want him as a guitar teacher!
