Who else is still watching in 2024?
since release been back to every song !!
Mamma mia...
Gotta refresh the soul every few years
Meeeeeee
I've loved all sorts of guitar players all my life.. but there is something about Antoine.. it fits my taste exactly..
I will periodically always come back here
This is one of those moments where I wish I was famous enough to get this guy's talent spread worldwide.
Insteresting approach! A+
***** Hahaha thanks :D
Tour's the world. Makes enough money to live doing it. I think he's doing well for himself. These tunes get a lot of money on the backend, albeit through commercials, etc.
Been listening to it from the last 10 years... still couldn't manage to stop my tears every time he does the Outro!
God damn the way he just effortlessly integrates those natural harmonics into the melodies is mindblowing. Takes an incredible amount of feel, touch, and control to do that. Absolutely beautiful.
Don't hurt him.
reyno as opposed to unnatural harmonics. Or those of the synthetic variety
@@ophiolatreia93 The term is literally natural harmonics... Look it up jesus
@@ophiolatreia93 as opposed to artificial harmonics, yes
Still listening regularly in 2022!
seriously
Thumbs up if you're listening to this in 2081!
... I know I will be... this is what's played in heaven.
Still listening to Antoine's songs, especially his old ones. I've never ever seen anyone else being this ridiculously creative with songwriting adding complex rhythms and taking us into wonderlands with such amazing composition, it's very hard to explain. Antoine is truly a master.
Antoine Dufour-- You are truly a master of the acoustic guitar, and I mean that with one hundred percent sincerity. Your influences have driven you, and your passion has fueled you. Never quit making beautiful music, and never stop writing awesome pieces!

Watching in 2024???????
that outro is one of my favorite passages of music .
Yeah... When I first heard this, it blew my mind. 10 years later - it's still one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. I listen to this on Spotify all the time, but I have to come back to the video every once in a while because watching his right hand during the outro is just "lol".
Wow.... 12 yrs later and still, WOW. Just wow. Phenomenal!!
For real I'm just thankful that I was born in this generation and I have the opportunity to witness things happening
It's so amazing that the 7/8 sections are the easiest parts to follow. Cause that's not easy. This guy is just great
Isn't it all 7/8?
A heartfelt thank you to whomever first decided to stretch 6 strings across a soundboard becasue you , sir or madame, got all of us here together to watch this mind-bogglingly ridiculous, beautiful , extraordinary work of art.
I'm not sure how many people noticed how fitting the title is for this song. It seems perfectly engineered to be exactly a journey in a dream. It has the morning bell, followed by a dark and mysterious, but forward pace. Towards the end, all the elements of the song begin to merge as if coming out of the dream. I don't know if Antoine meant to do this, but it's hard to believe given how perfect it is, that it was done by mistake. Well done, sir. This is musical art.
I'm still a huge fan after all these years. Breath taking other worldly talent by the one and only Antoine Dufour. I believe this is in your top 3 all time pieces. absolutely brilliant. 🤯
If I didn't see it; and merely heard it, I would have naturally assumed there were at lease 4 guitarist in a jam session! Unreal how deeply layered his performances are.
100% agreed. One of my favorite things about his music.
Tilden Corbett
Tilden Corbett at "lease" 4 huh.
@@ophiolatreia93 yeah I'd need to lease that guitar to afford it
Best part = 0:00 - 4:28
YES!!!! HAHAHA
Nah, the part at 4:28 sucks (the end of the song) =P
I love the way he ends this song with that authoritative strum.
Hey guys. I remember 11 yrs ago going to the Free Library in this local town where I lived just to sit in the computer lab and listen to this song for the hour that our visitors pass allowed…I was drinking heavily and trying anything I could get my hands on at the time. My life was in shambles. This song and his music really helped me through some hard times. My sobriety date is April 22, 2017…..Love.
So much skill and beauty. Astonishing.
What and how ...but he’s doing everything different all at the same time ..the dynamics and the rhythm just mind blowing.
Mesmerizing. The way he sweeps his thumb up and down the strings was unreal.
im glad to see that only less than 1 % who watched this video dont appreciate quality music
excellent as always Antoine:)
I am still watching in 2020, its really great to watch this mastery of the instrument.
To run in a dream just like this song, is impossible.
yes Mr PolarB
This is something more than music. Notes are living, and wanna break the walls of common logic. Pure poetry.
The movement ....of the clock like chime harmonics are so gorgeous.....His work is all about creating movement. What an incredible joy to listen to.
It is extremely difficult to pick 1 of Antoine's works over the rest,BUT, To Run In A Dream is my favorite, what a Master Acoustic guitarist he is,even if he is using quad pick-ups,that still would not account for his abilities.
This entire song makes me feel like I'm in a dream.
Absolutely awful pun intended
Seeds don't dream u dingus
CookieNekôSabata Any normal seed would be unable to, but you see, I'm no ordinary appleseed.
o
Been watching this guy play for 6 years now, great teacher. ;-)
That was like the best I have ever heard a guitar played. The sound the composition was out standing. I have found a new influential musician to learn from.
Who else is still watching in 2019?
me
Me
Again. ;)
;-)
In 2020 good sir, and for many years to come!
Now if every one would pony up some cash and buy his albums. I will be buying his albums and DVDs. Yeah I could just let it go but this musician is better than most bands being produced out of the big music producers. Pay this fantastic musician, who has worked his butt off to get where he is, and more music, skill, and talent will follow. I listened to his RUclips recordings on a pair of JBL studio 580s and it sounded and felt like he was playing right in front of me - live. I personally would like to hear an uncompressed .WAV file or perhaps a .flac file. Play on.
Cringing Cranium's in love
i completely agree, antoines playing is so good that I cant do much more than just sit back and watch in amazement.
A style and craft that takes a life of dedication.
My favorite instrumental of all time,2nd choice would be Andy McKee's "Rylynn" 3rd is"In My Own Rhythms"
Travis Hendrix I like echoing wilderness or dracula and friends part 1
I feel like Tank at the end of the Matrix....*glass eyed stare*..."How?"
My favourite of his compositions.Brilliant!
i can't say with words what this songs makes me feel. the last part is glorious.
13 years later and that end bit is still absolutely fucking wild. Thanks Antoine!
How do players on his level see the guitar? Is it like looking at a page of text in your native language?
I think they simply see themselves.
@Michael Li it's years of dedicated learning and practice then it becomes second nature to them.
There's really no leading or backing. Every part is perfectly meshed.
This is the single greatest thing I have ever heard.
It seems to me Antoine's soul shines through every masterpiece he creates, simply beautiful, and ALMOST unmatched, there are others yet he seems to put every ounce of his being into his music. PS: Many thanks to You Tube for giving us this fantastic music
you'll probably love craig deandra he's amazing as we go is my favorite piece by him
reminds me of an animals as leaders song
=D
I love animals as leaders. Any song in particular?
Travis Dorr if i had to pick one, on impulse would probably be it. i love them too!
Yeah! Such a good song...
hi (sorry for english)
kwaliti banta m9
Bushido Brown ke?
Another talented genius form the province of Quebec, Canada...
Had the pleasure of seeing Antoine play live in Portland,OR with other Candyrat guitarists a fews years back. He stands alone. He's the best in IMHO. It's not just the skill, it's also his beautiful song writing that is just gripping.
Yo what the FUCK???
Watch his right hand closely 3:45! How the hell is that even possible?! It literally doesn't even look human.
The technique is called " rasgueado" . It's used by flamenco players all the time. He is doing a modified version of it for sure , but that's basically where he got it from. He's said in interviews that he's borrowed from flamenco in coming up with some of his techniques.
In my humble opinion this is Antoine's best song. Well at least of the ones posted on Candyrat.
I am amazed at how many songs these artists create and everyone has its own feel to it. I just moved back to Canada last week so hopefully I can catch one of his shows this year. Just amazing Antoine and all the Candyrat musicians.
Antoine, you are a genius! Thank you for taking me with you on these musical journeys. I enjoy the ride!
to watch this guy play is an experience
Absolute mastery of the guitar.
I totally wasn't expecting the butterflyish effect when he flicked his fingers across the strings near the end. This man is my hero
The songs from this guy are like...gold.
shivers.... i listened to this in 8th grade...7 years ago .its so melancholic
excellent another hit from antoine i cant get enough of his music its like he cant go wrong kudos sir!
Antoine Dufour over time has become my favorite CandyRat musician.
The strumming at the end is mesmerizing.
If this was a visual masterpiece it would be intricate this music puts me into another mindset, it just projects possibilities!!!
they say he brought a man back to life with his music
His playing is just so CLEAN.
we need more people like this guy
You never cease to amaze me, Antoine. I'd just like to thank you for being alive at the same time i am
I could listen to this a million times in a row (and im planing on it) and it would still be amazing to me!
really does sound like there's 3 players, amazing, and appropriate title
Just AMAZING, just from another world
Now this is another .maybe the best from the new ones I have listen to so far today. Great, Job, dynamic, change ups, melodic. Love it.
i honestly can't believe how great this is...
Emotion like this could never be contained in words or tangible thought. This is a powerful song.
candyrat records have most fabulous musicians!!
This is my favorite song by far :) I am so jealous that his harmonics are SOOO clean and snappy, my mind is just like, ........... please don't stop playing, my mind is blown back at the intro.
The outro has crumbled me as a person.
This guy is literally a guitar wizard. Listening to one of his songs is like when you watch a movie a bunch of times and you realize different things that you never noticed before. Amazing stuff.
This is the definition of a graceful dance. Fantastic as always, a truly gifted musician.
He's a machine. Still love this song so much.
The most brilliant guitar player ever to setp foot on earth.
This is more than talent, there's no words to express the feeling his music brings to me. I feel honored just to listen to it, honored. May you live forever AD.
MAJOR respect to Antoine and all the candyrat dudes standing up to the mainstream!
If ppl could just sit and just learn how beautiful this music is, Master Dufour never fails, no matter what it is, he never fails!
just a true god given talent, i feel this is how the acoustic guitar was intended to be played.
Holly mother of god. That is so amazing. 7/8 at its best
Never heard such awesome sound quality.
The more i listen to this song the more there is to hear, and it gets better each time. this may be antoine's best yet.
I cant believe this. He really pushes his instrumet to the limit. That ending was out of control!
this man delivers too much; he's not one to disappoint
I feel like I'm in the middle of a beautiful jungle, sitting down beside a beautiful lake and nothing but this song and a chorus of angels played in the background.
*gasp* and I believed he was powerless without his mythical magical music rings! Lo and behold his awesome power must derive from elsewhere.
i wonder how many light years would take me to learn this and record a cover version without missing one of these harmonics which are blewing my mind right now... You never cease to amaze me, antoine :)
antoine has become such a well rounded player. seeing him progress through his albums is a real treat. watch on don!
Antoine still sets the bar very, very high!!! And yes......there is no substitute for hard work!!!!!
The rasgueado technique at the outro is just ridiculous...This is a true master at work..
His music is so surreal it's like I've seen countless others comment. He can transfer you to different places with his music.
Antoine, you make my days easier to be tolerated... Thank you so much.
Antoine Dufour and Tosin Abasi. Yes please.
i can't describe the emotion i get when i hear this..... i don't think it matters what i say.... maybe someone outhere feels like i do.
u can go all bad ass on fingerstyle guitar but never detract from that certain state of "grace" while listenning. i love fingerstyle guitar music. candyrat is just a brilliant gem of a find. god bless all these artists
I love you're music. Words have lost me yet again.
Normally I'd be looking at sheet music for a cool song like Blue Eyes, or Sting songs. Then I look at this guy work, and I'm like...no way! Won't even bother. Just masterful!
I love his generous use of harmonics!
Eastenr canadian man. We are knowd to be good at music and guitar. And every now and then a really good player like Antoine Dufour will come out the wood work and amazed the rest of the world. I must say as a eastern Canadian in small town nb. You and countless other on the candyrat page have inspried me to pursed my dream of playing guitar. One day i Will be as good as you :)
English not your strong suit.
Because it is a second language.
