You did the right thing. I'm an Aussie who has lived in Germany (Munich) and although Germany is a very nice place, I could never live there when i compare it to Australia, especially Sydney where I am from. It is so much better in Australia in every way. You will love it and be very happy with your decision! You are also very brave and should be very proud of yourself!
I totally agree! Germany is not bad, it’s okay to live there but definitely not great. With the weather conditions there it will never be great and Australia has so much more to offer in terms of beaches, nature, animals etc. 3 months in and I‘m loving it so far!!
left Korea at 26 too pretty much the same situation as you were. landed in Sydney and it was bit rough at first but I'm still here after almost two years now planning on going to college to take a path to get a permanent residency. My life still isn't easy to be honest but at least here I have purpose and free. Good luck to you fellow backpacker!
Welcome to Australia, hope your new home gives you a new lease on life and improves your mental outlook.Enjoy the weather and our laid back lifestyle 😊.
@dublsrz I agree with your comments. I am always saying hello to tourists who visit our wonderful country. They have hinted at moving to Australia and I have replied that if you do you are welcome. This country has a lot to offer.
Had the same feelings as you when I was younger, and it led to me moving to another city (Melbourne) for 5 years after living my whole life in Sydney.. and then again the chance to move away to the UK for work. I got to travel a lot in that 7 year period too so what was interesting for me was the homesickness combined with seeing Sydney in a much better light having moved away from it. Have been back here since 2018 and whilst it's not a perfect city, it does have such a great balance of weather, opportunity and people. I know not everyone will have the same experience as me, but when you find the things that tick the boxes that you need to live a happy life, you damn well better do your best be in that place. Good luck with your journey and welcome!
It takes a lot of courage to move to a different country and leave everything familiar behind. I'm sure you'll have a great adventure with minimal regrets. Congratulations!
I don't know how I ended up here, however, I find the way you tell your stories very nice, very slowed paced, and... somehow, simple, in an era where everything happens so quick. G'Day Begibou,,,It's lovely to see you moving to Sydney, I hope you have a great life while you are here in Australia. When it comes to parents wanting to decide what you do, and don't do, it all comes down to yourself, after all it is your life. I am sure your mum will understand your decision after awhile, sometimes it just takes time..Don't feel down, get back up off your feet and have a happy, cheerful life in your new Country. Once you make friends life will become much easier. All the Best....

Best decision you ever made. I first came to Australia 64 years ago, married a local and stayed. Left a couple of times for career and vacations but always returned.
You'll be fine, don't you worry. I moved to Munich, Germany when I was 32. I was there for a year, then moved back to Finland. I loved Munich, but that wasn't meant to be more than a year due work. Seven years later I moved to Sydney, and I am here to stay. You will fit right in. There will be people and things you will miss from home, but thankfully communication nowadays works fine (time difference aside). Hey take a trip first. My choice was North America or Australia ( Irish born and bred). Visited the USA and Canada. That’s so cool! I don’t think all places are that expensive, at least not as expensive as Sydney. @@Begibou Thank you for the advice! I’ll try saving some money, so that I atleast have something. I hope you have a great time in Australia. You inspired me so much by following your dreams and also showing that it’s not really easy.
@@Melmelone21some advice from an Australian. Australia is a huge Island / Continent with many beautiful cities and towns near the coast. Almost all of them are considerably cheaper than Sydney to live in, so if you genuinely want to move here keep an open mind on where you might want to live. The great majority of Australians live an hour’s drive from the coast, myself included. I would never regret moving to a beautiful hamlet in the hills of western Gippsland in the state of Victoria ( an easy drive to Melbourne and the beach - one hour by train ). Good luck
Not dumb at all, your following your heart and dreams and will experience what so many ppl never will. But be aware that Sydney is Australia's most expensive city!
@@Begibou Not that I ever walk around 3 in the morning, stuff that I'd rather be in dreamland. If you haven't tried them already, I seriously recommend a pack of rissoles from the supermarket, big meatballs with seasoning ect, some have cheese in them. Aussie's usually have 2 or 3 for dinner served with veges, and the gaytime icecream. Careful you'll get addicted to rissoles and gaytimes lol
Very good point. But from an outsider, Australia is an amazing and truly fascinating place and I’ve never seen quite a place like this before, even though I have traveled quite a bit. The animals and plants are like nowhere else and everyday I step out, I’m just overwhelmed by the beauty. Not to romanticize it, because Australia and Sydney in particular, sure is expensive. But I don’t regret the decision for a second
What a fool Australia is gone they imported 1 million Indians in 2 years with a population of 25 million when the aboriginal population is 1 million crazy

WHV have always been popular with Germans
Also half of Ireland are moving to Australia and as per usual half of NZ continue to migrate to Australia

Not dumb at all, your following your heart and dreams and will experience what so many ppl never will. But be aware that Sydney is Australia's most expensive city!
Thank you! I already had the painful experience of Australia being very expensive 😮💨
@@Begibou yes but our wages are including minimum wage are some of the highest in the world. Plus we've got free healthcare
In Sydney, you work twice as hard and receive very little reward for it. So, good luck adjusting because this city is a cesspool.
If I wasn't Australian, I would move to Australia...
❤
🥰
Aussie Aussie Aussie o.i o.i o.i, no worries mate
No worries!! 🇦🇺
Just be prepared to never own property and youll be fine
Hahah I lowered all my expectations so that’s okay!
At least you're not in Melbourne.
Wish everyone was vegetarian. The world would be a better, kinder place. ❤ Hi from the Rocks, Sydney.
You’re right! Well I hope some people get inspired by videos like that :)
@@Begibou ✌👌
good luck affording it
Australians watching this video: 😫 iykyk
Australia is the safest country on earth, you can walk around the city 3 o'clock on the morning alone and be totally safe. It's NOT like Amerikkka lol
Agreed! That’s why I love it here 💕
@@Begibou Not that I ever walk around 3 in the morning, stuff that I'd rather be in dreamland. If you haven't tried them already, I seriously recommend a pack of rissoles from the supermarket, big meatballs with seasoning ect, some have cheese in them. Aussie's usually have 2 or 3 for dinner served with veges, and the gaytime icecream. Careful you'll get addicted to rissoles and gaytimes lol
come to the Gold Coast to find ur true happiness
Gold Coast is on the bucket list!! :)
可愛い声ですヾ(・ω・*)ノ
Thank you 🥰💕❤️
Sydney? I suspect this won't end well. Get out and explore the rest of the country beyond the capital cities
I am happy to marry u and take care of u .melbourne
Ahhhh that’s not possible I’m sorry hehe
I would say, yes, you are. One of the most expensive cities in the world. Unless you marry a well off man you and then you will be fine.
It sounds as though you are eating cardboard,,,crispy.....
Maybe not dumb, very probably soon to be broke.
Your arms are so freaky and weird! I'm glad you're not moving to Melbourne! 🤣
What a fool Australia is gone they imported 1 million Indians in 2 years with a population of 25 million when the aboriginal population is 1 million crazy
well that was weird. You know you're racist, right?
this popped in my recommendations and couldn't be more grateful! u have this very genuine and unique vibe attached to you and it just high key made my day. ty for posting this, sending only love and positive vibes 🤍🤍
