- Coming off mount olympus we find a the Titan Prometheus destroying the city of Sikyos! Turns out Krios, possessed by the servant of Kronos, was the mastermind behind this. Many of the Atlanteans blame Kastor and wish to defeat him! Unfortunately Amanra and Ajax came to kick my butt as well but they ended up being the ones needing to be rescued. We must save them before the Titan Prometheus destroys their city! This is the New Atlantis Campaign. | Age of Mythology Titans Campaign | Titan Difficulty

I always thought funny how Amanra is like "we must rescue Kastor !!!" while he's just facing some angry dudes and she's facing an invicible titan and his swarming army of big claymen. But, yeah, Kastor is defenitively the one who needs to be saved here.
And how after this mission Arkantos is like "You're the only one who can defeat them (the titans) my son" witch is not very kind to his old friends Amanra and Ajax (and old ennemy Folstag) who do all the work to fix all the mistakes caused by the stupidity of his own son

@@miguelpereira9859 krios or Kronos probably prevented it, but yeah it's so fucking dumb that the gods didn't tell anyone what was up, like unless they are fighting another threat why the hell aren't they aware of this. (Unless they are fighting a greater threat and arkantos was all they could send as a warning since they were being weakened while fighting another foe and it should be noted the titans aren't the God's only enemy and arguably aren't their greatest either)
@@miguelpereira9859 if youve ever read any old greek texts, A LOT can be done by people just being frank and saying "hey this is how things are working" (oedipus rex is probably the best example) but just like sitcoms, if people acted rationally, things wouldnt be nearly as interesting and fun. personally i find the writing kinda true to old greek myths in form
@@miguelpereira9859 For the same reason Athena couldn't just give Arkantos a run down on Gargarensis plan in the main game.
That's just how being a Greek god works nothing can ever be just straight forward.
The Titans actually also opens on a reasoning too with the the Greek gods them self simply not paying attention to the locked down Titans because whose gonna free them now with all gates seemingly sealed until Kronos plan was already well into motion.
Time to sleep like Arkantos for 2 days until the vid is out.
Arkantos really be committing war crimes in his sleep too
Fun fact: The VA of Amanra voices Meridia and Elenwyn in Skyrim

You could have made build plans for a custom ai script to keep the Amanra player making walls, but yeah unless you didn't alter their starting resources, they eventually will run out and be overwhelmed by the Prometheans as they would need maintain plans to keep bias on spamming Priests.
I really hate how the ally AI for kastor in this one mission is actually decent but the "Allies" in the next two are just nothing
As someone who liked AoM more than AoE2 back in this day then playing DE the cracks on AoM are so much more noticeable
Ally functions that actually do stuff is such an alien concept in this game even customs I actually hate it

De kinda ruined some things
To be fair, with how the maps are designed, having proper AI would ruin half the difficulty of those missions.
You wouldn't have to split your attention between defending the Caravans and defending the Son of Osiris and the Norse Titan would die before Nidhogg's summoning was even halfway done.
@@filipvadas7602 BRO I played and won that mision 5 times or more . I never knew nidhog was on the map I would just rush the enemy titan...I played on titan difficulty too...

Holy shit, seeing Jesper55561's name is crazy to me - used to play this game all the time with them back in the early 2000's, made me nostalgic.
Seeing the campaign played from this perspective is really neat. In some ways I actually kinda prefer it since Kastor is honestly such a non-entity in his own story sometimes. Really neat video and well-designed scenario!
love the editing! also always loved when the campaign heroes yell out objectives while dead on the ground. amanra yelling about rocs while she and ajax are just face down in the dirt

god, its been so long that i played this mission, i always used a Roc to go to kastors side and simply waited the time out. i did that the first time till now and never even once played it normal XDDD
