Liam Allan was coming home from football in January 2016 when he was arrested by police on suspicion of rape. Liam’s life was turned upside down, with him facing six charges of sexual harassment and six charges of rape, and looking at a minimum of ten years in jail if found guilty. After spending almost two years on bail as a rape suspect, his ordeal came to end on 14th December 2017 when police failed to reveal critical evidence proving his innocence to the court was discovered, resulting in the case's collapse. Liam joins This Morning with his mum Lorraine to tell the story of his two-year nightmare.

Women who wrongly accuse men of rape, should get same penalty and prison time, that actual rapists get! This is equality and nothing less.

Yes, but it’s only 2% of accusations that are false. In case you think this is common.

Try 50%. Look At UVA university in 2014. 35 reported rapes and 17 were proven false. This is an epidemic.

I’m literally going through this now. Being accused of sexual assault. Something I have not done. The literal stress I am under from the second I wake up to the second I go to sleep. I’m not really eating. I’m trying not to go out. If I do I hide my face because she has lied and spread my name all around.

You are not alone. I had a consensual one night stand with a lass that didnt tell me she had a boyfriend who tracked her phone to my home the next day and caught her red handed. I watched them arguing in the street before they eventually drove off and i thought that was the end of it, but instead of holding her hands up and admitting fault she decided it would be better to make me a scapegoat by going to the police and telling them i sexually assaulted her. I mean who does that?

Let the false accuser remain anonymous?! What the heck is wrong with people?! If someone knowingly falsely accuses another of this crime, then their name should get published and the victim of the false accusation should have legal recourse against the accuser!

I went through this a couple years back. Of course she had no evidence because it didn’t happen and she never went to the police but being blocked and suddenly threatened and hated by all of her family members was jarring and hurt my feelings quite deeply to be honest. I got close with this girl and did a lot to make her happy. I hate her with a passion now.

Justice means fairness, I think in each case, the person who falsely accused should be examined and asked to front a jury why she should not face life sentence or jail sentence. It is only a fair game.
