Loco kinda goes harder the more you listen to it (especially the last chorus where the beat is kinda different). Also the live stages make the song more enjoyable for me as well since they really go 100% everytime

Remember when songs are just good at first listen? Apparently it's a hard thing to make in KPOP nowadays. I'm tired of 8/10 songs being "growers".

I'm a giant fan of the what-the-fuck-is-happening-ness of Itzy releases, so Loco didn't really do much for me initially, but it's definitely a grower. I somehow got addicted to hearing the latino-inspired? ig? instrumentals at least once a day for an energy recharge. I liked Swipe at first listen more, probably because of the weirdness, but it's a song you've really gotta be in the right mood for. overall Mafia is still my least fave title track, tho it can absolutely slap if I'm in the right mood for it, followed by Dalla (the chorus just doesn't deliver as hard as the verses do, I LOVE the DallasK remix tho), Not Shy (solid 6/10 okay song), Loco, Wannabe and 11/10 Icy.
i feel like the exact opposite abt dalla dalla i mean its also my second least favorite tt but the thing about it is that i love the chorus but the verses aren't as good

I would rank Loco solidly above Mafia, maybe on par with Icy, but definitely below the other three. It was done by the same production team as Dalla/Wannabe and you can def hear that in the sound, but it never quite hits the highs of those two.
The visuals are fire though. And Swipe is a cute girl.

Are you serious? On par with ICY? ICY is good and catchy, while LOCO just sounds strage. I love most of their songs and have bought a few of their albums, but Maffia in the morning and LOCO are my least favourite.
I actually like Loco more than Wannabe. I would rank them like this:

2.Loco
3.Dalla Dalla
4.Not Shy/ ICY
5.Mafia in the morning

LOCO is definitely a grower, Dylan. And I absolutely hated MAFIA and still do. JYP should never ever have real input on any of ITZY's future releases. MAFIA just killed the momentum that had built up over DD, ICY, Wannabe, and Not Shy (this is evident by comparing 1st week sales). Galatika wrote LOCO (they did everything else except MAFIA) but it's a weaker track, although not by much. The girls were fab as usual though!
i agree, mafia was so out of their theme 😭 i would understand if they are trying other concepts for itzy but coming back from previous concept for loco is kinda breaking their music color :((

loco's dance break is so good tbh, the more you listen in the song it's more getting better compared in the first listen.
I love LOCO it has this 2nd Gen (4Minute) vibe, but I have to agree that DALLA DALLA, Not Shy and Wannabe are way better, with Wannabe being one of my favorite Kpop songs of all time, I really don't know how they can top this. Swipe on the other hand is not my taste, I mean it's ok but nothing outstanding and these strange noises irritate me every time. The album itself is great, especially Sooo LUCKY and LOVE is, but also Chillin' Chillin' and BOOM-BOXX ^^
The whole album was a grower for me, which is a first for them. Their first 3 title tracks were absolutely peak, but I think Loco has become my 4th favorite title track of theirs now idk there's just something about it once the sleeper crack mixed into it activates in your brain.

I don’t like either songs as well as mafia, this year I didn’t like their title tracks but I’m waiting for the next comeback hopefully it’ll be better

Sooo Lucky is another of their b-sides and its the best one on the album, in my opinion. But I've definitely grown to like Loco. It's the instrumental for me.
LOCO is their weakest work to date in my opinion. Their trademark is leaving you confused and unsure of how you feel until it eventually grows on you, and this is the first time I immediately knew how I felt about one of their songs after first listen. I didn’t feel the urge to listen again, nothing about it captured me. I just thought “meh” and left it at that, which is a little outrageous for a girl group lauded for being experimental. This release has me a little scared that their ability to surprise us has ended (especially since this release for me also marks the weakest b-sides as well) and æspa may just start to takeover their place in the industry
Its a bit to early to tell imo. Itzy is still young and although this year they didn't do as well as other years (still pretty good) they can still comeback with a banger next year and overtake. Aespa are still rookies to be compared.
@@viola1130 aespa debuted the year after itzy, and a year can do a lot to a group’s standing because of how fast paced the industry is… trust me, my ults were a top bg, were mismanaged by their new parent company for year and now struggle to crack top 10 in brand rankings… of course I’m not saying itzy’s reputation and reach will similarly tank, but I think people judge groups by their most recent releases and with how fickle kpoppies can be, I can see people dropping a group after two poorly handled releases, especially if a group from a big three company is executing it better.
@@sasukeissocoollike aespa is doing undeniably great im just saying its still to early to determine if they are truly the leaders of this gen or not. Itzy is still doing great i mean mitm was still pretty big compared to many other releases this year but i agree jyp should definitely change directions with how they are managing them. I still think itzy haven't reached their full potential so hopefully jyp doesn't start ignoring them after the new gg debuts.

I definitely feel you on this one. I was quite disappointed. I tried to like both songs and listened a few times and watched a couple stages but I could just not get into them. Initially, I was really excited about Itzy, LOVED their first 3 releases, then came 'Not Shy,' which I did not like. MITM was a shocker on first listen but grew on me and liked it eventually but not to the same extent as the first 3. Now, I start to wonder what their style is...the first 3 songs were in the same family, but with 'Not Shy' came a shift. I am not saying they should make the same songs over and over, but I somehow feel they are losing their identity. I really like Itzy, so I hope I will love their next release again.

loco was so underwhelming on first listen and I think part of it was because I hated mafia and was low key turned off by them. anyways both songs grew on me a bit like a week or so after release but still on the weaker side compared to wannabe and not shy
it took me like ten listens and watching all of their performances to finally get hooked on Loco, but I felt the same when I first heard it, great video!

I feel very similarly. LOCO's chorus is kind of catchy, but not something I'll listen to. SWIPE, I like more than LOCO, but I hate those weird "crying" (?) sounds. The girls are great and talented, but I've only really been impressed by DALLA DALLA and, of course, WANNABE as far as songs go.

Loco is a grower. But it'll never hit like Wannabe or Dalla Dalla. They performed it in the US btw! (well, I'm pretty sure the performance was recorded in Korea but it aired on the Kelly Clarkson show I think)

I did enjoy Itzy's Crazy in Love album but I honestly was expecting the title track to be a bit more catchy. I did like the song first listen but I wanted something to be catchy like Icy or Dalla Dalla. I did enjoy Mafia in the Morning though and I think Itzy has some of the best music videos in Kpop. I just hope their next release is a lot more catchy. Overall I did enjoy this comeback. Thanks for the reaction, Dylan!
Didn't like Loco and Swipe that much but I loved the album! Loco's chorus feels a little plain and stale compared to their other songs. Chillin, Sooo Lucky, Love is, and Mirror are amazing b-sides thou and are on my playlist right now.

Dylan I highly recommend that you try listening to LOCO while watching the Dance Practice video for it because i feel the mv is a bit too chaotic for the song...
tbh i didnt like the song so much at first either and so i tried watching the dance video as i usually do in the case of itzy cos they have beautiful choreos and I LOVED IT ... I loved the song times a million times better and the choreo too.
