O.O was given this title because its main purpose was to shock people and also to show what sort of music NMIXX would be releasing from there on out. (And it’s pronounced like “oh oh”, like 2 letter o’s but the face song is more iconic so feel free to keep calling it that). Thank you so much for reacting to them!
The reason why LMLT music video was lower budget was because they originally filmed it with Jinni. But since she left the group they had to refilm the music video.
The Love Me Like This MV had many reshoots due to one of the members leaving (during the period of filming). Notice how it almost looked like a choreography/performance video instead of an actual MV. I understand that's how it looked lower budget. Kudos to the girls though, they pulled through with the choreo and vocals!
Got hooked on NMIXX with their debut O.O and their insane live performances. I'm originally a boy group fan - I tend to prefer darker and more aggressive music more, but when I saw NMIXX performing O.O live I was shocked, they're freaking powerhouses oh my god, I suggest checking out their live stages they're so freaking good. Even though I don't necessarily like all of their music I have endless respect for their incredible stage presence and live vocals so I'm keeping up with their latest releases regardless, they're just too powerful to ignore lol
Loved the reaction! Have you watched their stage practice for Love Me Like This? Thy're quite talented, I was shocked when I heard them sing the first time lmao
16:30 you say that Love me Like this is the best song but the least MV, because they was remake the MV. they even was recorded the MV in november but one of their member out on desember. so we will see that MV is less bugdet. im sure that they will back making MV like O.O or Dice for the next comeback 🤩
I absolutely love all of their songs EXCEPT young dumb stupid. I’m too dang old for nursery rhymes it makes me cringe 😬🙉🙅🏻♀️ it also took me a while to get into O.O, but i feel like listening to the album without the MVs helps so much because it was overwhelmig. Now it’s my favorite album by far! ❤❤❤❤
Nursery rhymes aren’t even always awful but in this case it totally ruins what was actually a good song outside of the chorus 😭 I would always like the rest of the song when I listened to it but then end up with the worst part stuck in my head so I started to avoid it
@@ferlozz And I fucking loved it, as someone who comes from a country where that isn't a nursery rhime, I vibed with it hard, it's so silly and fits perfectly. I miss goofy kpop and shit like this makes my day, I miss when kpop wasn't so serious 🤭😫💜
The nursery rhyme was Frère Jacques, a french nursery rhyme that somehow all of us were aware of and knew the words to even though none of us spoke french.
Their more "commercial" songs are the MVs they released for the fans lol. I think the vast majority of people would love those songs; Password Cool You should check them out on your own time! As always, you are always spot on about your analysis and take on the songs so its super interesting to hear what you have to say about any kpop songs in general, especially the polarizing ones like NMIXX songs.
My only problem with NMIXX is the transition between sections is too messy for a group that has "mixing" tied to its brand. Other than that, the vocals and the choreo and the catchy parts of the song keep you coming back-- it just took me so long to get over how hap-hazardly they threw each section one after the othere. Anyway at this point we already expect this from a JYP group; debuting when they're half cooked and letting them stew over the years. We've seen the formula succeed before. Also I will stick to what I've said before. I don't think the point of NMIXX is to experiment like how SM tracks do it; so the comparison shouldn't be made although I see why people think that way. NMIXX really is just there to MIX genres. Taking two or three pleasant sounding songs who sound nothing alike and then mixing them.
We need a WJSN subunit reaction for pride month! WJSN Chocome (the short members) and WJSN The Black (the lesbian members) they’ve also had a new comeback after your last reaction called Last Sequence but i think you might love the bside “Done”
NMIXX's music is top-tier. Their dancing is phenomenal. Their vocals are amazing. Their rapping is impressive. Their visuals are great. Their concept is fascinating. Their M/Vs are intriguing.
O.O definitely took many listens before I appreciated it. Dice, i loved immediately! I've been obsessed with it ngl. i'm just laughing throughout the video because i'm expecting your reaction already 😂
people do not want to accept it, the concept, the mv, the lyrics, the lore, the MIXXPOP, the vocals, are far superior to several tt that have come out in recent years, hate has blinded them, and they cannot give a good reason to deny this, as a kpop listener I can say that few groups that debuted in recent years have a concept and a personality as marked as that of nmixx
You messed up Kyujin ("cue jinn" ish), the rest were fine :) Also, "Ad mare" is Latin for "To the sea" (and is pronounced like... umm... "ahd mah-reh"... English is so horrible for representing pronunciation but I hope it makes sense). So yeah, the sea motifs are definitely a thing. I love YDS. Who cares it's a nursery rhyme? (It's Frère Jacques, BTW. Also known in English-speaking world as Brother John.) It is a round (or infinite canon) that remained popular for 3-4 centuries for a reason. I absolutely loved discovering what they did there. And it goes perfectly with the theme of the song (we're not proper adults yet, let us enjoy innocently making a mess). Also, "They're making the face with their face." Hilarious :D It is likely that LMLT MV is so... bare... because they had already filmed the MV, when Jinni suddenly quit the group, and they had to edit the video to erase her from it. Thus most of the single or duo scenes look like proper MV, but most of the group scenes are no-budget late additions (you can see how e.g. Kyujin has a completely different hairstyle in those scenes, showing there was a big time difference between the two shoots). It actually turned out better than one might hope for under the circumstances. (I like parentheses.)
Nmixx frustrates me so much bc IN THEORY I love the mixnmatch concept, but in practice they absolutely bomb it with their title tracks. yes, I've grown to adore O.O, but I still feel like listening to the two tracks separately after listening to the mix, if that makes sense. Dice... well, the tracks making it up feel a bit more musically close, but that somehow makes the song feel more disconnected, if that makes sense? also I just dont like the chorus part. and I couldnt agree more on the Frère Jacques tune absolutely fucking over Young Dumb Stupid, I simply cant listen to it, even though I looove the verses and think in general everyone that worked in the song did a fantastic job. in the end, Love Me Like This is the best of them all, and that's just sad, since it's the least musically interesting (at least to my uneducated ears). well, at least we have Tank. I also still have to check out the full album so maybe there's some gems hidden in there too.
I don't know LMLT is their best charting song and YDS outcharted O.O and Dice so we'll see, I surely hope they don't ditch the mixxpop concept, it's fun
people are really ignorant and believe that mixxpop is just sudden changes of rhythm, they themselves confirmed that LMLT was mixxpop mixed in a different way, and it is very evident, stop hiding your hate behind a "friendly" comment, they will continue to do the kind of mixxpop we saw on O.O and DICE, if you were a fan you wouldn't talk about LMLT or YDS like that, since they are such good songs
TBH after JYP changed the direction of NMIXX's songs, removing their signature changeups, I now prefer their older songs like O.O, Tank, and Dice over the newer songs. Why? Because they had an identity and uniqueness to them that no other groups could imitate. Now? They are just one of the 4th Gen groups and are not longer special.
Thanks for the actual HONEST reaction. Pandering KPOP reaction channels have completely fully gaslit NMIXX fans with their fake reactions into thinking O.O is anything but trash. I'm so happy their newest single is an actual song.
I don’t even know how to respond to this anymore. You are not a superior being by being in the majority and disliking O.O. Music is subjective, I love O.O the most out of their songs and loved it first listen, which is fine. It’s not because you don’t like something that it automatically makes it trash, it’s not because the majority doesn’t like something that it automatically makes it trash. Art is subjective.
Honestly shut up. I know it’s crazy to believe but some people actually love O.O. You thinking that LMLT is their only good song just shows how shallow and basic your taste is. You’re better off listening to some random Olivia Rodrigo song than trying to act like a music expert here. Experimental music is definitely not for anyone, you not liking the song is a thing but you not understanding how music can be subjective shows how limited your thinking capabilities are.
Love how dylan calls O.O the face song 😭
O.O was given this title because its main purpose was to shock people and also to show what sort of music NMIXX would be releasing from there on out. Dice is by far my favourite nmixxx single, it is so so slayful after a couple listens. I still can’t deal with O.O though haha
I recommend you read the lyrics of the songs to better understand their concept, thank you for support our girls❤
The name of the song that the chorus of "Young Dumb Stupid" sampled is "Frère Jacques." That sample also took me out of the song lol
