Don't call yourself lazy, Alyssa! That's not good biofeedback for your psyche. It'd be better to refer to your love of simplicity as being "unfussy", "uncomplicated", "straightforward", "efficient" even.
Great video! Living well, having compassion for others, looking good, feeling happy...none of these things are possible if we neglect ourselves.

I drink sleepy time tea about an hour before bedtime but just a tiny bit. I boil about a quarter cup of water and let it steep for a while. That way I get the benefits and the experience without having to wake up and go to the bathroom as often as when I drank a full cup

I was amused with your statement about getting older. You are so young. You know you're older, when that cup of chamomile puts you nicely to sleep, and then wakes you up 3 hours latter for a trip to the bathroom.

Definitely simple routines and simple approaches. I am much older and have seen the long term effects of the 'girls that do, and the girls that don't ' so what matters is sleep, nutrition, exercise, good simple skincare and sunscreen. Lovely advice - and really important to not over think or think you need to spend alot on skincare.

Sleep is the foundation of good health. I also need my 8 hours of sleep.
I usually turn off all screens (I do not have TV at all) an hour before sleep and meditate for an hour or so.
Balance is a key factor in my life.
    Take care, Alyssa ❤️

You have a really healthy, balanced attitude to eating and exercise! I hope your knee is recovering. I'm completely with you on naps and camomile tea. I hate loud alarms and have used a light clock to wake up naturally for about the last 20yrs, especially helpful on dark winter mornings. I am also sensitive to caffeine and have 1 or 2 cups maximum, before lunch. I think wanting effective, simple skincare is not lazy, just sensible.

Accessories like a sleep mask, ear plugs, white noise machine, or fan are super beneficial as cues for relaxation. These are lifesavers if you sleep amid distractions such as night shift, on-call, or busy neighborhood. I personally wake up super early which means trying to fall asleep while the lights are on in my house and neighbors make lots of noise.

I've had the same experience. I find that if I do not set an alarm and I sleep in until I'm rested, I have a much better day, more energy, better health, fewer colds. Of course some days I don't have a choice, but I limit those as much as I can. For some reason setting an alarm makes my sleep a little more Restless and the sound of it wakes me suddenly and harshly.

It's about balance right? Nothing complicated. Love just listen to your body. Be mindful. Moderate. It's all good. I'm ashamed to say I'm 51... I still don't have a specific skin care product I use. I always wash and moisturize my skin of course but have never followed any specific product routine. Probably partially lack of funds.. everything is really expensive... And dare I say unnecessary?... I'm all about simplicity and budget friendly products. If I'm extra flush ... I will indulge in a body massage or facial but honestly those are far and few for me. Loved this video. Be well. ❤️

Great tips, Alyssa. By the way, I love your pajamas! You have inspired me to start journaling, as I am now retired, so I need to come to grips on how this is making me feel and what my next chapter will be. Exercise and eating healthy has been a part of my life for over 20 years. I think those of us in the U.S. need to take some advice on slowing down like those in Europe. It would be great if we had the downtime during the day! Thanks for your inspiration.

Really great ideas and suggestions! I like them all, but the gratitude and journaling is the stand out out one for me. I was lucky to have a parents who taught me to be grateful, and my dad especially, coached me to think positively. He really emphasized being careful to not be negative. Now, I see other people struggle with negativity and a lack of appreciation for what they do have, and I think how lucky I was to have people show me how to avoid that. I also think your other ideas of listening to your body and taking good care of yourself, inside and out, in a deliberate yet relaxed way, is a huge part positivity. Once again, Alyssa, good work!

OMG, Alyssa. I've been watching your videos for quite a while now, thanks to you I've developed more of a personal style again (after just throwing on whatever was practical for work for a few years, because I simply didn't have the time or energy to do anything else) and I feel that by now slow fashion is really working for me. And of course I knew that you run, but I never realised how much it means to you. I started running about two and half years ago, have done a couple of marathons and shorter ultra marathons so far and I love it so much, I won't ever give it up again. And well, I do stress a lot, I need enough sleep to function, I'm always the one leaving a party early because I want to run in the morning ... So now I want you to be my life coach! 😁 I feel you have a couple of things figured out that I still haven't. Will definitely try the sleeping mask and camomile tea in the evenings. Probably should start journaling, but to this day I couldn't bring myself to do it regularly and maintaining healthy eating habits with work and running five times a week and maintaining a clean home is something I still haven't managed to succeed at. Thank you for inspiring me to try and tackle other areas of my life with slow living principles.

It always happens to me that when I start writing daily the things I am grateful for, I end up abandoning that routine. I don't find it varied because it happens that every day the only thing I am most grateful for is having my beloved mother and father alive and well, my brother alive and well with his family and my husband alive and well with me. In my life is absolutely nothing more important than them. So it seems superficial to me to be grateful that one day it's sunny or that what I program for that day or any other turns out or that I manage to solve a problem because in the end what matters most to me is that they are well. I don't know if anyone else has the same thing.

great video. when you say interval running, as in "the galloway method" of walk-run-walk etc? i find that best for my old fat body and am looking forward to doing that again as i fell off the wagon with it for various reasons one being horrible knee pain unrelated to running. (actually until i started taking fish oil, all my joints were screaming for no reason...hormones?) anyway, these are all great tips. ps what did you do with that yummy eggplant?

Love the Galloway method of interval running! Would have given up running years ago but this keep me going! Have done it in races & no real difference in finish times. Great for beginner runners or those whose joints..or lungs..need a little break!

Quality fish oil fights inflammation, so perhaps your joints had slight inflammation?

Thanks, Alyssa for this great video, as usual. While i appreciate that the sponsoring company appears eco-conscious, it's unfortunate that they are not cruelty-free. There is no reason to test these products on animals (nor to sell them to countries that require animal testing by law).
