I’ve revived my Scourge again after trying other classes and enjoy what it can do in open world. One thing I noticed is that about 15:30 Shadow Fiend changes to epidemic, I assumed that this was a change for a different raid boss, a little confusing at first glance. Keep Scourge vids coming, ty.

the benchmark for reaper is a few hundred dps higher than scourge but in an actual gameplay situation scourge will frequently do better than the reaper due to class design and the way they deal damage
@@aztechrex5275 Reaper is better for open world mob clearing since it has better burst damage than scourge. Scourge requires some preparation while reaper can clear a large group with 2-3 buttons. But when it comes to large guys like champs or legendaries, scourge rises above. As for all other pve content, scourge is much more preferred for its utility.
Great video. I'm using trailblazer's gear at the moment, as I'm still trying to complete the viper set. I don't have complete living world seasons, so it would be difficult to get the back. Also, for the armor runes, for the meantime, I went with superior rune of the traveler. As, I still have to get the dungeon currency to get superior rune of the nightmare. I'm only just about 3 months into the game. I struggle a bit with survivability in open world, most especially in HoT. But, I probably have to change armor set to something that gives more vitality. What could you advice for alternatives for the armor set, armor runes, and weapon sigils? Thank you!
Hey, for survivability you can try to swap the last trait in curses from Lingering Curse to Parasitic Contagion. In open world this can be a game changer for packs of enemies especially if you bring Pandemic instead of Shadow Fiend. I can solo champions in full viper's with that trait swap. As for backpieces, without living world, you've got a few options: Path of Fire banners eg. Rising Banners of the Sunspear, another option could be Quiver of a Thousand Arrows which will just run you ~40-50 gold in the mystic forge but won't require an expansion. There's a wiki page for ascended backpieces if you want to look for more options. There are plenty of alternative runes/sigils available but I would recommend just looking at what you can afford in the mean time or saving up for the full nightmare runes and suggested sigils in the video.

I suggest having some power stats (power, precision, ferocity) with a little bit of vitality. And using axe/warhorn! Axe is a great burst weapon when you stack vulnerability and have decent power. I suggest training spite, soul reaping and blood magic for leveling. Taking well of suffering and golem for extra survivability.
For this build specefically, no, you need the viper stats, the boost gear has celestial stats But you can find other necro builds that works with the boost armor, i ran the boost armor set for a while on my necro, and still use it for the reaper build

Lvl 80 scourge tree finished now, trying to get viper gear but its a little bit expensive rn, running carrion gear atm
Do you need certain armor or will the jump 2 eighty ticket armor work for a while
