  • This event focused on the importance of regulation of the online world and the need to prioritise children and young people’s safety in the digital space. Prof Sonia Livingstone (LSE and 5Rights Foundation), one of the thought-leaders in children’s digital rights, delivered a keynote address followed by a panel discussion including inputs from Alex Cooney (CyberSafeKids), Prof Debbie Ging (Dublin City University), Fiona Jennings (ISPCC). The event was chaired by Noeline Blackwell (Children’s Rights Alliance) and covered a range of topics from children’s access to harmful and violent content, the need for better digital and media literacy education, digital marketing and the need for a robust Online Safety Code.
