The second really annoying thing is that the audience is singing and you can hardly hear Thom. Thev mean good, but it is lack of respect for the artist.
He may be smart anough or instinctively know that antisemites are very proud liars. And the genocides of the MidEast have been against Hebrews a thousand times over and now.
"subí acá arriba y ven a decirlo. vamos. subí al maldito escenario y dí lo que quieras decir. no te pares ahí como un cobarde, ven y dilo. vamos. quieres arruinarle la noche a todos? okay, eso quieres. nos vemos después."
First, I'll just say that Radiohead has been my favorite band since I was 14, and I feel we're incredibly lucky to be getting such a special tour from Thom at the moment. Of course it's a bummer to have such a wonderful performance interrupted, but in the context of the genocide in Palestine, and who Radiohead are as a band -- an unquestionably political group who have never previously hesitated to use their platform to speak out against injustice -- their silence has been particularly egregious. Thom has not even gone as far as issuing a relatively neutral statement like "ceasefire now". Many are criticizing the protester, and of course it fucking sucks to have such a special concert interrupted in that way. But protests are inherently disruptive. In the grand scheme of history, Radiohead's complacence with respect to the genocide in Gaza will not be remembered kindly, and I'm glad that there are fans willing to challenge them on this. Even if it does suck to have a performance interrupted. Imagine your favorite band playing in apartheid South Africa or Nazi Germany. Would it feel right to say "let's not get political" then?
dude not the place or time, interrupting that show didn’t bring anyone back from the dead or stop any governments from waging war. no disrespect, but that guy was just being an asshole and accomplishing jack shit.
Hypocrite using RUclips. Imagine your everyday shmoe using a platform by a billion dollar company that has tens of thousands employees in Israel, watching a video and having the commercial money go into arming the Israeli apartheid.
What a loser. I was glad on the first night it was about his music . He didn’t say much at all about anything, a part from the telling off some people at the beginning who seemed to be leaving their seats at the front 😂

Perfect encore. Doubt if I share all Thom’s opinions on public affairs but the truth in his songs is mostly *personal* and goes beyond whatever fashionable opinion dictates in the moment. Only thing we can be sure of is that we’re all sinners and could be better.
Please be nice with me : the context wasn't right at all, I agree. But what the person is saying has some truth in it. Thom's been using his music to communicate peace and political engagement for literal decades. I think we're just asking for a word or two. Thom is my hero, but it makes me sad that nothing's being said.
Well that's your opinion and Thom has his own opinion. He chooses to keep it to himself and do what ever the f he wants without being pressured to appease you. All the arguments have been exchanged, you picked your side, Thom apparently doesnt want to play that game of picking a side. He apparently doesnt want to get caught up in a fight that's not his. He apparently feels enough people have said enough things, and it all didnt go anywhere. He apperently thinks, he's an artist and he creates art and it gives people a lot of joy. How about you stop demanding more of him when you have given nothing, beyond creating a anonymous youtube account to lament about other people.
@@lekayro2170 not the time or place. I went to hear him sing, not lecture on world issues. What about Ukraine? What about all the other crisis? Mo point in listing them.

I really fed up these people trying to make Radiohead members say something about politics, do they have to? i might be blocked more than 200 people who said curse words about war in my Radiohead Club twitter & facebook accounts, go shout this to politicians not to a band or bands related fan accounts just becoz one of band members married to a jewish woman, this is really rude, this is not to way of protest, contrary you make people think antipathic things about what you defend…
Not just Jewish, Israeli, he lives here too at least partly, he has family here, maybe someone who was murdered, maybe kidnapped, probably a nephew or two in the IDF. He and the bend has every right to their opinions and feelings and to not be bothered about it. And if they indeed support Israel in this they are absolutely right.
Radiohead have always been a political band, and have vocally supported movements similar to Palestinian liberation, such as the Free Tibet movement. In the context of what is going on in Palestine and Gaza -- that is, a decades-long occupation of a captive population, apartheid, and genocide -- their silence is particularly egregious. Being married to a jewish woman has nothing to do with it. Being married to an outspoken proponent of the Palestinian genocide, and more importantly not even having the courage to issue a relatively neutral statement like "ceasefire now" is legitimately concerning for a band who have historically stood against oppression. What is the right way to protest? Protests are inherently disruptive. In the grand scheme of history, Radiohead's silence with respect to the genocide in Gaza will not be remembered kindly, and I'm glad that there are fans willing to challenge them on this. Even if it does suck to have a performance interrupted. Imagine your favorite band playing in apartheid South Africa or Nazi Germany. Would it feel right to say "let's not get political?"

@@PubliusEnigma94 it’s a simple argument: I want to hear Tom Yorke sing I don’t want to hear a bunch of random people singing at the same time. It’s not a football match.
but silence is a statement. both in music and politics. it does not equal complicity of course, and it shouldn't. but in this particular case, why would you keep silent, why would you not show your stance to your fans, these are the questions to ask. Is it because you don't want to lose a particular fanbase, is it because you don't want to get "canceled" or is it because you are indeed on the side of the opressor, I know that's going to be a controversial topic once you say who is what, to me it's clear but not for everyone I know that (don't get it tbf) but you see my point? Like, he is a very vocal and political guy all these years and all of a sudden he just shuts up. doesn't add up
This is why I stopped going to concerts. (And stopped engaging in politics). Imagine paying hundreds of dollars just to have to listen to hundreds of people play choir-karaoke to one of the most recognizable voices in modern music.
thats why many bands prefer playing in south america than europe, usa, asia. because of people like you. in Brasil our crowd is so much better, so engaged in singing each song
Thom Yorke built 30 years of his career on politically unambiguous songs. He wrote songs and spoke about various crimes against humanity. For some reason, he refuses to elaborate on such a blatant issue. I don't care which party he supports. I cannot understand why he doesn't talk about children being murdered in Gaza. Thom speaks about the guy ruining everyone's night because he shouted a pro-Palestine comment yet Thom had no issues when he "ruined everyone's nights" when he spoke about other issues that were important to him. Stay human, at least Ed has a different view on that. "While you make pretty speeches I'm being cut to shreds"
Of all people in the world, why would Thom Yorke's opinion on Gaza matter? Cockhead in the crowd is just using Gaza to justify being disruptive. I guarantee he couldn't point to Palestine on a map if you asked him two years ago.
i’d make a guess its because thom as a artist doesnt wouldn’t have the same influence to speak on the situation than say he did 16 years ago, 16 years ago is when radiohead were supporting the “free tibet” movement and there was a lot of support for that as well, its not to say thom and radiohead don’t have influence but the least he could do is denounce what is happening instead of trying to play the neutral side
Coming through, Radiohead *did* position themselves as a politically radical band. But in their lasting superstar era - as wealthy men who can travel the world - they've been vocally on the wrong side of this particular brutal oppression / occupation / now genocidal mass murder. Radiohead could've been such powerful advocates, as they have been on other political issues, but they are not. So it's inevitable occasionally people will shout at them. Doesn't mean this protester is 'right' to have interrupted the show, but for me it's just an inevitability of live performance in that context, when the artist exposes himself to real people after years in an ivory tower. Perhaps it made this 'Karma Police' better - but for me, the lyrics swivelled inwards to Yorke himself. It's not that Radiohead haven't spoken out - it's that in this particular case, they HAVE spoken out, stridently in support of the oppressor.
That’s your interpretation of Art and his music and I don’t see it that way at all See music is subjective along with the intent of the bands own interpretation of works events Did Coldplay say anything political at their concert last night ? No and why it was an amazing experience

Seeing some of you bringing up Coldplay up as a reference of sorts as a band that is not mixing politics with music (what?) is both hilarious and sad. See, all that peace and love crap that Chris is doing on his shows, while being a part of the vibe of the band and the show as such, it really looks nice (not in 2024, no) on the surface. And yes, basically saying “I’m not into politics” is a political statement, and not the smartest one at that, it isn’t so complicated to understand.
@@luvdeva Well, yes, that counts. See also Tori Amos, what was it, "Yo George". Little did she know, right?

Karma police arrest this man?
Thom, if he'd position himself maybe
That’s your interpretation of Art and his music and I don’t see it that way at all
