Power Point would blow this defense attorneys mind.
But then we wouldn't have the pleasure of his extraordinary penmanship!
This whole trial is Harvard Law degrees👩🏻⚖️ versus certificates of graduation from a “night school of law”💀…at a strip mall 🤡

Wait so the argument of Infowars' defense is that Infowars is so ridiculous, poorly made, and unbelievable that their effect on the families is negligible? That's what it certainly seems like lol
Seems to be the same defense FOX uses. Funny, that.
Not even the first time they have made that argument. back in 2017 it came up in his divorce/custody case, claiming that his show was fiction and he was a character and should not be taken seriously.
Apparently the ex-wife is also rather interested in some of the points that came up in this trial since it shows he lied in that case too.
@@neeneko as I recall, that divorce was a shitshow too. This clown can turn lemons and pure cane sugar into dumpster juice when I comes to interacting with the courts. @@cryptotex420 "If a party introduces all OR PART of a writing or recorded statement, an adverse party may require the introduction, at that time, of any other part - or any other writing or recorded statement - that in fairness ought to be considered at the same time."
Seems pretty clear that they're not required to play more than a part of the clip. If there's a 50 minute broadcast, but only 5 minutes concern relevant material, then why play 45 minutes of irrelevant nonsense?
The defense trying to say "well, you took those five minutes out of context, lets play the entire 50 minute broadcast", isn't exactly going to make those 5 minutes look any less egregious. It just forces the jury to stomach Alex Jones speaking for way longer than anyone who isn't already an Alex Jones fan is going to enjoy. Given the jury is likely not composed of Alex Jones diehards, I can't imagine that plays well for the jury.

Hold on: Karpova was deposed as a "corporate representative" and is supposed to be testifying as a "corporate representative" for InfoWars. However, when the plaintiff attorney wants to examine her, the defense objects to her status as a "corporate representative," but then goes right back to cross-examining her in her alleged capacity a "corporate representative." Do I have this right? Is anyone else confused as to why her position in the case is only OK in deposition and for defense cross-examination?
Yes, the problem is she was originally deposed as corpoarte representative but has since lost that status and is now in court as a normal witness.
The defense basically argues that the "offense" (forgot the english term) cant address her in the present as corporate representative, but the defense feels fine arguing that they are treating her as such only in the past tense.
long story short, the defense is cheating and really bad at it.

Golly, it looks like it is easier to have answers when you already know the questions. True Believers Assemble!!!
Witnesses get to practice their testimony with the lawyers they are called by. They don't get to practice their testimony with the opposing lawyers. Why are so many people acting like this is something nefarious when it happens at every trial that has ever been broadcast. When asked questions by the opposition, witnesses make sure they think before responding as they have never heard that question before and then have to make sure the question isn't worded to trap them into making a false statement or contradicting a statement they had previously made. When being asked questions by their own side, they don't have to analyze the question like that as their own side isn't trying to get their testimony dismissed or get them charged with perjury.
Oh so now the witness isn't being obtuse the whole time. Of course, it's when she's being questioned by the defense. She should have been called in contempt of court long before now yet here she is, talking about telling other people about her deposition. wtf is the judge doing?
Are you a bot? She talked with the defense's team of lawyers, which she is allowed to do. Also, this type of behavior is common in these types of trials. Have you people never seen another trial before? Witnesses are prepared for their testimony by the lawyers for their side. The previous witness, the one for the plaintiff, did the same thing when asked questions he wasn't expecting by the defense.

Daria here is considered a corporate representative at this time as well. And reminder "it depends on definition of 'something'" was her answer when asked if Info Wars had a legal right to defame and lie about something like this again. They are indefensible. And if you listen to alex, listen, i get it. He says things that seem to have an answer to why your life sucks or why America doesnt live up to your expectations. But ask yourself; when was the last time anything he said actually made a difference? His 9/11 coverage was abhorrent and disrespectful. Every mass shooting he has covered he either questions or says the government did it with no actual citations or evidence. It may be easy to just tell yourself he has all the answers, but watch his full deposition videos. If this was their big day and they told the truth, he should have the plaintiffs eating out of his hand. Including now. But he doesn't. Thats why he was defaulted. He didnt hand over the documents they asked for. Because he thinks having it in the open and on paper, live for all to see is worse for him than just dodging the requests to admit the documents. Maybe you're embarassed? And that's okay too! Being scammed is an increasingly problematic issue, and being scammed on ideas is probably one of the most damaging of all. To the plaintiffs, and see for yourself that Alex Jones and Info Wars terrorized these families for years because he saw how much money its coverage made.
This is an excellent synopsis.

@@chrislancaster1982 thank you, I didn’t think of that. It’s just odd to see. I like watching trials but most are criminal cases. Thanks for the explanation.
According to reporting from PBS News Hour, Jones and his attorneys gave notice to the court that he is dealing with a medical condition that limits his healthfully attending any of the days in court. In general, if not a capital case, defendants can waive their right to presence which allows the legal team to speak on his behalf. It does inspire curiosity for me but considering this behavior regarding the whole deal (he did, after all, ghost his filed appeals, and has filed the bankruptcy for the parent company), I wouldn't be surprised if he was diagnosed with a serious illness, possibly deathly, around the time the defamation trial was happening and he's taking this as opportunity to shut it all down. Liquidating his corporate entity is no small decision, though the timing of the filing is certain suspect. I guess I'm thinking this due to how he seems like he's giving up on a lot of things. I thought he had fallen pretty hard when I saw him hanging out with Tim Poole and the lot around a year ago. Was almost like he was saying hi to the next gen conspiracy heads

Nearly every school has an SRO (school resource officer) and the ones who don’t have one at a nearby school and that officer runs over there. Yes because it is a fixed trial that has already been decided by a judge and this is just a show trial with the cards stacked against him. Has this chap, Alex jones, lost a child as I have?
It’s obvious none working at info wars have ever lost children or anyone to such senseless violence. They are either socio paths or just fortunate to not have suffered such a devastating loss. Yet. I have and if anyone accused me of perpetuating a hoax to gain from my daughters death I honestly wouldn’t be able to stop myself from ripping their throat out with my bare hands, that’s how much it makes my blood boil every time I hear these lies and think of these families who have already suffered the worst and will never fully recover from.
Do ur children a favor and move on. How much you want to bet your children look down on you in shame for continuously torturing yourself by going out of your way to listen to this. Like RUclips didn’t make you go out of your way to read my comment ,you did. Just move on with life for your dead kid, your live kids, and yourself. If not you’ll be spending your whole lives trying to control others. This is a democracy where freedom of speech somehow means nothing because people think they don’t have the freedom to not listen. Stay off social media if you don’t like what you see.
