Granted, it is not a sports car but it is sporty. Our other "family" car is a Honda Civic Type R. The Type R is segment leading in its performance, but the C-HR is better for going around town and doing grocery shopping. I do have to admit ,that adaptable trunk space in the Nissan is pretty cool. For the C-HR I ordered a foldable trunk organizer, also from my dealer, and it really helps prevent groceries from sliding around and folds away and stores in the side compartment when not in use. Our car also has the optional roof racks for more load carrying capacity. We have some nice twisty roads here in SoCal and the C-HR handles them like a champ especially with those TRD parts. We do give up some MPGs for that power but well worth it. Bravo Toyota for not being afraid to give us something different. Toyota earned my hard earned money and with that legendary Toyota quality the C-HR is a car we will have, maintenance free for a long time to come.

Toyota has rebranded vehicles originally designed for Scion as Toyota’s but seem to replace them fairly quickly. Like the hatch that became the Corolla hatch. Toyota May be coming out with a Corolla Cross suv that would fit better in their lineup. The Nissan from side and rear is very similar to a Honda HRV. AWD along with heated seats in southern US not needed routinely plus usually get worse gas milage with AWD along with increasing price of vehicle.
Because it was the first year when CR reviewed. The touch screen was crap and some internal cosmetics. That's all changed in fact every year since the chr has changed.
