- Oklahoma vs Texas Highlights (Texas vs Oklahoma). Oklahoma and Texas played the 2020 Red River Showdown in week 6 of the 2020 college football season, and this insane game went into quadruple overtime. I edited the highlights, and voiced a halftime reminder to subscribe and hit the bell (voiced by me, Wheels).

Ou defense played great all game but Riley poor playcalling took all their shine by letting texas have the ball with 3 min to go and no timeouts. Good win for the young guys but the coaches gotta do better
Jam Drew yeah the o line was in control at that time and texas was pretty much tired. We shouldve just kept the big boys leaning on that d line. Texas had no timeouts so lets just burn as much time as we can

As an OU fan I have to agree. We hate on Texas a lot, but damn they have some talent. So does OU, it's just that neither of us are executing well right now. This game was a dumpster fire but it was a damn entertaining dumpster fire. Respect to Texas for a great competition

As an OU fan, I lost my absolute mind when Sam ran for the TD at 13:12. Refs missed a major hold on 26, but also a major hold on 80 when he held Woodi Washington. That being said, we shouldn't have been in this OT situation. No excuses for being up 31-17 with 4 mins to go and allow Texas to tie it. We put pressure on Sam most of the game, but for some stupid reason on the final drive for Texas, we only rushed 3-4 against Texas' 5-6 on the O-Line .... I was losing my absolute mind as Sam was free to throw and run as he pleased ...I knew growing pains were coming for the OU O-line. We lost 4 to the NFL and even more offensive strength last year. OU is a really young team and we'll be back in a year or two with all these big recruits coming in. Still many games left this year, but this is going to be a rough one for Sooner fans.
Facts i'm a big Sooners fan I'm tired of showing up only in 3 quarters and just quit in the 4th quarter but this game shouldn't have been close.
@canWego Backintime With the kids that are coming in, if you were to get rid of Lincoln based on this year alone, you would blow up the whole program. We have some major talent coming in. We are a young team and I am not worried. OU as a really young team with a freshman inexperienced QB that beat a Texas team that has way more on the field experience along with a Sr. QB in Sam. You would lose Caleb Williams and a massive host of 4-5 star receivers. A lot of 4 star CBs .... We are probably going to land Raleek Brown as a massive RB commitment... We have guys in coming for D as well. We are getting rid of our shorter CB and safeties ... I was honestly surprised OU won this game. I wouldn't have been surprised if we lost, but there is definitely a need to finish games on both sides of the ball.

As a Sooner fan I have mad respect for Sam Ehlinger and what he did for Texas. He went out and played his ass off in the burnt orange.
I turned the game off with 5 minutes left but was thinking "texas gon come back" i thought theyd end up winning but oh well lol

This is easily the biggest choke for Texas. It’s incredible. They play a young rebuilding Oklahoma team, get 3 turnovers in the first have and couldn’t capitalize. Such a Texas thing

Alabama gave up 647 yards and 48 points to Ole Miss, yet Alabama has a great defense (I believe they do have an excellent defense, but a good spread offense can make a good defense look bad). OU gives up 428 yards and 45 points to a much better team than Ole Miss, and somehow they have a bad defense. OU's defense got three turnovers, six sacks, one blocked punt, and held a good Texas team to 45 points in 4XOT. OU has an outstanding team; they need to mature on offense and continue to build the defense. In one to two years, OU will very likely be in the National Championship game.

I am an OU alumni and I still can't figure out how OU pulled this miracle win after giving up 14 point lead in the last 3:29 of regular time and missing a FG in OT to win it. This is another game where OU gives up leads at the end of games. I have to admit that OU they STILL have an awful D, can't rush the QB and can't defend leads and put teams away for good. It is going to be a long year. OU needs to fix that D. It is always weak. When will OU ever have an SEC type of Defense like LSU, BAMA or even Georgia? I am still waiting for that to happen. Great Defenses Win Championships.

Javy C Yeah, those jabronies obviously didn’t watch the game. They just look at the final score. I guess they ignored the fact that LSU/Missouri and alabama/ole miss had similar scores...but they gave up all those points in just four quarters! OU actually played good defense for 75% of that game!
There's no such thing as a good ugly game. It was like watching two middle school teams screw everything up. And the worst part is is Oklahoma fans are celebrating when they should be embarrassed. Thank God we don't have to play a non-conference opponent.

There's a saying at my house...no guts no glory. Too many coaches are by the book and extend games needlessly instead of striking while the iron is hot. OU returned the favor in OT by just playing for the field goal, which they missed. I'm a Sooner fan and I breathed a sigh of relief when Texas elected to tie it up.
There was everything in this game: Passing TD's, rushing TD's, fumbles, interceptions, blocked punt, field goals, blocked field goal, missed field goal, multiple overtimes, 2 point conversion, game winning TD by the son of the former coach, a game sealing interception.
Big 12 football really is the most entertaining football to watch.

To be completely honest, Texas should have done a 2 point conversion right before the end of regulation to win instead of going into overtime. But that overtime was interesting. The way Texas lost was so similar to last season when Ohio State lost to Clemson. Texas and Ohio State lost due to an interception at the end zone.

@@broskiblue726 he played backup in like 2 games last year but that didn't affect his eligibility. So yeah, he's a redshirt. He has 3 more years after this year presuming he doesn't develop to the point where he can enter the draft after his junior year.
@@broskiblue726 redshirt just means that he opted out of being a full-time player last year in order to develop. But in extraordinary circumstances he could fill in as a backup. Not sure what the rule is but he didn't play enough last year to affect his redshirt status. It's weird and complicated. Hope this helps.

Its too bad that Sam never had a great on-field coach or a decent talent development system around him. A 4-year starter who wasn't repaid for his contributions- and honestly probably the only reason Texas was having winning seasons at the time- he covered up a lot of flaws in our team and kept us in games we had no business being in. We now have that development with Sarkisian. I can only imagine how well he could have developed Sam, who never seemed to get much better past his second season. Looking back at this, Herman needed to go. This game made it obvious. There was no reason we should have lost to the 2020 OU team. They weren't nearly as good as the OU teams with Hurts, Murray, and Mayfield.

Tale of two struggling teams. OU has talented but green players overall. Secondary most of the time is atrocious with so called veterans. Texas underachieving with the talent they have. Sam Ellenger (sp?) is a beast. I cannot stand texas but this guy is the only thing keeping the ship from totally sinking. Will almost miss not seeing him play in next year's RRS.

Historically in this game Oklahoma always brings out the very best effort from Texas regardless of the talent Gap this game is always a hard-fought struggle and usually Within a touchdown or so for a margin of victory. No matter what each team's win-loss record is this game is always a hell of a fight. Obviously Oklahoma played a little better their defense was awesome and I am intrigued at least why the Sooners didn't win by morphe with all that turnovers Texas had and as many times as ehlinger was sacked I will at least say Texas never gave up.GO SOONERS!!!!

As a Texas fan you'd hate to see them lose this one, but perhaps if this Sarkisian hire works out then we'll have to thank Tom Herman for foolishly choosing not to go for two on the TD near the end of regulation. Texas had all the momentum in the universe by that time. Oklahoma's defense was both physically and mentally fatigued to the point where damn near any play would have worked. But no, he has to kick for 1 and go for the OT.

This was one of the poorest officiated games ive seen in my 40+ yrs following ou football. And I've seen some bad officiating, in this very series but this is right up there. Both teams were victimized by and benefited from bad/blown/ missed calls. The clock error stands out to me. Not that 39 less seconds would absolutely mean texas would have lost/ ran out of time in regulation. Different plays would have been called and so forth. Ou had a couple chances to put it away by gaining one first down and failed both times. But adding nearly 40 extra seconds to game is ridiculous.
