As an OU fan, I lost my absolute mind when Sam ran for the TD at 13:12. Refs missed a major hold on 26, but also a major hold on 80 when he held Woodi Washington. That being said, we shouldn't have been in this OT situation. No excuses for being up 31-17 with 4 mins to go and allow Texas to tie it. We put pressure on Sam most of the game, but for some stupid reason on the final drive for Texas, we only rushed 3-4 against Texas' 5-6 on the O-Line .... I was losing my absolute mind as Sam was free to throw and run as he pleased ...I knew growing pains were coming for the OU O-line. We lost 4 to the NFL and even more offensive strength last year. OU is a really young team and we'll be back in a year or two with all these big recruits coming in. Still many games left this year, but this is going to be a rough one for Sooner fans.

We are a young team and I am not worried. OU as a really young team with a freshman inexperienced QB that beat a Texas team that has way more on the field experience along with a Sr. QB in Sam. You would lose Caleb Williams and a massive host of 4-5 star receivers. A lot of 4 star CBs .... We are probably going to land Raleek Brown as a massive RB commitment... We have guys in coming for D as well. We are getting rid of our shorter CB and safeties ... I was honestly surprised OU won this game. I wouldn't have been surprised if we lost, but there is definitely a need to finish games on both sides of the ball.

I am an OU alumni and I still can't figure out how OU pulled this miracle win after giving up 14 point lead in the last 3:29 of regular time and missing a FG in OT to win it. This is another game where OU gives up leads at the end of games. I have to admit that OU they STILL have an awful D, can't rush the QB and can't defend leads and put teams away for good. It is going to be a long year. OU needs to fix that D. It is always weak. When will OU ever have an SEC type of Defense like LSU, BAMA or even Georgia? I am still waiting for that to happen. OU's defense got three turnovers, six sacks, one blocked punt, and held a good Texas team to 45 points in 4XOT. OU has an outstanding team; they need to mature on offense and continue to build the defense. In one to two years, OU will very likely be in the National Championship game.

OU returned the favor in OT by just playing for the field goal, which they missed. I'm a Sooner fan and I breathed a sigh of relief when Texas elected to tie it up.

To be completely honest, Texas should have done a 2 point conversion right before the end of regulation to win instead of going into overtime. But that overtime was interesting. The way Texas lost was so similar to last season when Ohio State lost to Clemson. Texas and Ohio State lost due to an interception at the end zone.

Its too bad that Sam never had a great on-field coach or a decent talent development system around him. A 4-year starter who wasn't repaid for his contributions- and honestly probably the only reason Texas was having winning seasons at the time- he covered up a lot of flaws in our team and kept us in games we had no business being in. We now have that development with Sarkisian. I can only imagine how well he could have developed Sam, who never seemed to get much better past his second season. Looking back at this, Herman needed to go. This game made it obvious. There was no reason we should have lost to the 2020 OU team. They weren't nearly as good as the OU teams with Hurts, Murray, and Mayfield.
Tale of two struggling teams. OU has talented but green players overall. Secondary most of the time is atrocious with so called veterans. Texas underachieving with the talent they have. Sam Ellenger (sp?) is a beast. I cannot stand texas but this guy is the only thing keeping the ship from totally sinking. Will almost miss not seeing him play in next year's RRS.
The teams both have a chance to score with them receiving on the 25. If one team scores more than the other team, they win. If not, the next round of OT begins. On the third round of OT, it's required to attempt a 2 point conversion following a touchdown.

Tale of two struggling teams. OU has talented but green players overall. Secondary most of the time is atrocious with so called veterans. Texas underachieving with the talent they have. Sam Ellenger (sp?) is a beast. I cannot stand texas but this guy is the only thing keeping the ship from totally sinking. Will almost miss not seeing him play in next year's RRS.
What are the overtime rules?
The teams both have a chance to score with them receiving on the 25. If one team scores more than the other team, they win. If not, the next round of OT begins. On the third round of OT, it's required to attempt a 2 point conversion following a touchdown.
