So the thing about this is that the heroes canonically lost against the deadly alliance, as you saw in the deception intro which took place right after Deadly Alliance, Raiden was the last one standing and he would lose against them too.

This was my very first Mortal Kombat game ever.
Same. I was almost 11 when it came out and had been playing older MK's with my cousins and all, but THIS ONE made me a true fan.
This was the game that got me a big fan of Adema. In case you don't know, Adema is a metal band that made a song called Immortal which was made specifically for this game. When I first listened to this song, I became a huge fan of them and that song is my #1 favorite song. I even saw Adema in person at a concert in Dingbatz, Clifton, New Jersey at April 14th, 2023. Got pictures with two of the members of the band as well
Just to let you know that Nitara's, Cyrax, and Reptile's ending are all canon and all came true in the next game which would be Mortal kombat Deception.

I'm not big into Mortal Kombat but I played Deadly Alliance when I was a kid and for whatever reason the intro stuck with me so sometimes I will randomly walk into a room and go "For millennia the forces of good and evil have been locked in eternal battle"
You need to do that the next time you walk into a Starbucks or some other kind of coffee shop/restaurant or just a public space 😁😇
Its interesting because I didn't know/hear about this game until after I played Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. After playing Mortal Kombat 4 & Shalion Monks, Liu Kang became my favorite character. So I was really confused when I saw him as a zombie in Armageddon. When I saw the intro of Deadly Alliance, I was completely speechless and hurt. That's when I heard Ed Boon wanted to do something different for the franchise.

I love how Drahmin and Moloch were supposed to be specifically onis but neither of their names can be pronounced in Japanese. Then again, we are talking about the series that consistently butchers the pronunciation of Shirai Ryu, Kano (back when he was Japanese and not Australian) and Takeda.
And 'Raiden', too, is the big one that's being mispronounced.
@@Fxrrxt2x It would have been acceptable if they kept the name "Rayden" since it could give them plausible deniability and I've been told that it was meant as a tribute to someone on the development team (though I can't find any evidence for it). But yeah, now that it's written as Raiden, it should follow the proper Japanese pronunciation.

In the lore the deadly alliance actually won. They killed all of earth realms heroes and defeated raiden. They were only defeated when the dragon king onaga was returned from the dead.
Of all the endings from MK: DA, I enjoyed Kung Lao, Raiden, Cyrax, Nitara, Reptile, Kitana, Sub-Zero, Jax, and Johnny Cage’s the most. Nice job to you both as usual. Oh and MK: DA has the best end credit sequence ever
This was my first mk game so I really didn't know who Liu Kang and Shao kahn were that were killed in the intro. Sub-Zero was my favourite and it's nice to look back at it and see on his ending that Raiden more or less made him Earthrealm's new champion.

After MK4 for me Deadly Alliance was the Ultimate MK come back, I remember buying this game for the Original XBOX but I will say for the 3D era Deception was the definitive instalment ! The intro movie was absolutely epic on a major scale
Raiden in 3d era didn't need to consult with the elder gods. Which is why I like that version of Raiden

Despite never owning or completing Deadly Alliance, I still consider it an invaluable game of my childhood. I only ever rented it (from movie rental stores that no longer exist). It was my first Mortal Kombat game, one of my first fighting as well as first multiplayer games, and one of the first and very few games I was able to play on my then innovative PS2 which at the time I saw as the peak of gaming. I don't really play fighting games or Mortal Kombat anymore, but this game in particular holds a special place for me.

It’s been so many years since I saw these endings as they was insane to watch again and get more story with the characters who are going to show up in MK 1 (2023) version coming. As it seems interesting for each character till the last one being MoKap as he seems to be a interesting fighter that is just being a funny gag character that is just being a developer having fun till adding him in the game 😅

This was the first Mortal Kombat game. I knew quite a bit about the MK Universe before playing it because I had also watched the first Mortal Kombat movie. You could imagine the shock of both veteran players and new players at the time of this game’s release. Seeing Liu Kang, the series protagonist and Shao Khan murdered in the opening cinematic. This was a game changer in storytelling for the series.
This Mortal Kombat game changed all of fighting game history. This is my 4th favorite MK game and involved in the 3D Era of MK which is this, Deception and Armageddon which I still play currently.
12th: MK4
11th: MK2
10th: MK (1992) the very first game of the series.
9th: UMK3
8th: MKX
7th: MK9
6th: MKvsDC
5th: MK1 (2023)
4th: Deadly Alliance
3rd: MK11
2nd: MK Deception

Something to note: multiple characters playable in this game are notably absent in the next game Deception (a game youve reacted to already) due to them dying in the battle against the deadly alliance notable people who died are Johnny,Sonya,Kitana,Jax and Kung Lao
this is deadly alliance, the next game is deception… and the heroes died against the deadly alliance, not onaga. they were forced to serve onaga but were freed. it’s also interesting to note that the deadly alliance roster of characters can be bundled into three categories like the notable absentees from deception due to them dying from the sorcerers (sonya,jax,johnny,kitana,kung lao), characters that died from other causes (reptile, hsu hao, mavado, frost), and those who’s stories had clearly not been finished or resolved and did return in deception (sub-zero, scorpion, li mei, kenshi, raiden, and bo’ rai cho)

And now you know why Liu Kang and Onaga never met. MK1 will feature the Wu Shi academy (this is where Raiden and Kenshi spar) and Arena of Souls. Nitara is likely to be shown in MK1 in the next two weeks. Almost all of DA's ending are actually... kanon.

I had MK Armageddon, and I never knew that Liu Kang being a zombie was because of the Quan/Shang Alliance. As for the other characters, they’re still something I have to research more on. But now that Liu Kang changed time in MK1, we’ll be seeing a percentage of them as playables and kameos…

If you 2 are still interested in learning dead by daylight lore there is someone who goes by the name of Spoiled Fruit who has done narrations for all the chapters(except the 3 most recent ones) I think you might like also they get better as it continues and I have never seen anyone do reaction videos to his stuff so I think it would be cool but it's up to you of course

There's a conquest mode in mk deception that is like the story mode of the game I don't know if you guys reacted to it but it tells the story of some of these 3d era characters more

Mokap is a secret character in this game. He's essentially just a mocap actor and a joke character.

The reason why Quan Chi had to "escape from the Netherrealm" is due to the fact that Scorpion's MK4 ending is canon. Quan Chi was about to banish Scorpion to the Netherrealm and Scorpion rushed to him and dragged him to the Netherrealm with him.
That's also why Quan Chi was running desperately towards the portal: Scorpion was trying to get him lol

Yeah the original MK timeline got worse and ended with a lot of bad endings including the end of the world(s).
the problem is the endings never played out instead the dragon king awoke again forcing raiden, Quan chi, and Shang Tsung to work together with raiden self destructing to go to the past and fix the issue before liu kang's death. It went straight into the apocalypse game so quickly. with the next game having cassie cage the first time. every Mortal kombat game flows into the next so easily
