Just kissed my baby, by the meters. A great tune. Josh is superb. A great player, teacher and his voice is sounding great on this tune as well. I know that with guitarists we tend to focus on the solos but Josh’s rhythm work is the business.
@@johnbenevoli2066 Lines and phrases, bro. Nobody cares about legato, portato or ficcatto. Lines must be interesting. I don't like blues too much and prefer Michael Brecker or Hiromi's music over 99% of boring guitarist. Just appreciated this one from this video.
To say 'nobody cares' about a particular style is a bold claim. I agree with you that lines must be interesting/melodic too, but if one plays a 3 minute solo for example, legato lines can act like a glue in which those interesting bits can exist. And the other thing is that all of that may have been improvised right there on stage so I would rather credit him for that, given the fact that he has quite a stature in that 'fusion' style. I will check out both Brecker/Hiromi, thanks for the suggestions.

yeah right... "no soul" just because u hear it differently doesnt mean it has no soul... and josh's playing is as much about having lots of chops. just another style.
Tom and Josh the two guitar kings of this world !!!
It's nice to see/hear Tom play with a live band and not a backing track. Terrific!
Tom is out of this World. What a groove.

I love Josh just grinning away over there at Tom.
Jon D'oh Really? I don’t think Josh would do that. He is a good guy.
Black belt playing right there. Well done fellas.
yeah!! amazing love this jam joe quayle
god I'm looking fwd to going back to the greystones - getting pissed watching a band ain't asking so much is it - stay safe brothers and sisters
Made my day loved it
Two of the best there!
Wow this is incredible. Thanks so much for sharing.
GREAT MUSIC!!!!!
Josh just WOW
I came back to the Tomsline pedal, but googled Tom Guayle live, being a guitar player this is one of the reasons Im loosing hair...
extreme virtuosity !!!!
Tom killer !
Technically excellent emotionally devoid
Try again.
Serious hybrid pickers will loose hair.
Wonder what the issues were with Toms side of the rig. Amazing and thanks for sharing.
from what I can tell crappy guitar cable, made a difference when Josh messed with it.
@@5se7en yes
Outstanding players. What happened to Tom's signal? Did Jerry chew his lead??
Name song ?
Legend as fuck
He is a big bite!
Not sure whether this inspires me to pick up my guitar, or just throw it in a skip 😅
Heavy strings matter
Wow, guy on left is so much more creative with a lot of better sound also. Tom Quayle playing is really boring in this duel.
Its a legato style, just different to trad blues..get over it Kiddo.., its not about you!

Very tasty solo from Tom, don't really hear any 'wanking'
Josh exposed the problem with a lot of these new guys...all chops and no soul.

Agreed. I fully get Tom is a genius guitarist but I never felt it.
Josh's lines have melody, dynamics and emotion, Tom just sounds like he's playing a lot of notes with no dynamics or feel.
lol all that comes to mind...
its a gig. theyre just playing for fun. not to mention he is heavily jazz influenced
hahaha genius you bro
