    Looks like the words on the paper the rat/mouse is holding says "Peace, joy, health, happiness" in French, so they are on a noble mission. The following part about fish and april fools is interesting because we have an april fools nursery rhyme about getting pranked and having to eating herring and i always wondered about the herring part since fish has no relation to april fools here otherwise, looks like it comes from that French tradition through Sweden so that's something new to learn

      The fish and April Fools is fascinating honestly. I'm curious how many other countries have fish pranks in April, I don't recall America having any.

      @PrincessBunhead France, Belgium, Italy and parts of Switzerland apparently share the same tradition, in Netherlands there's something about slinging herring at neighbours and Sweden & Finland have the similar rhyme after pranking. It's a relatively widespread theme I guess!
