Since this matter is too serious as the topic it relates to is Islam which is undoubtedly the Supreme among all topics and according to my knowledge a mere 'zeer' or 'zabar' in Arabic can alter the meaning of a word so one MUST be certain about answering a question related to Islam. But, since you wrote "the latter *seems* to be correct" So, that *seems* got me a bit confused since it does not express certainty. Now, if you're absolutely certain then please tell and if not then you may ask somebody who's certain. I would be very grateful.
@@katto44 Salaam Alaikum. Both are correct, brother. Arabic has slight variations in pronunciation based on region. While I personally have heard it be pronounced "Fi Amaan Illah" many times, "Fi Amaan Allah" appears to also be correct. I apologize for the confusion.

The third time you said it differently, is it amaan Allah or Amaan Illah ?
The latter seems to be correct however it may vary by dialect
