I'm really enjoying the current storyline of "Superman: An American Alien". It's currently on issue 4 of 7 and tells different stories of Superman growing up and becoming the hero he is now. Each issue jumps forwards in time and has a different artist to tell the story written by Max Landis. It's nice to see some character building moments of Clark before he truly becomes Superman. It's also a nice distraction from what's going on in the main Superman title that I'm only following because of John Romita Jr.
No ones talking Superman Secret Identity that is an amazing book and the best part about it is that it had a beginning a middle and an end that is what I find so special about it and it’s just plain great people need to talk about tht just as much as All Star Superman or any other books by Geoff Johns Update: 8:45 no they never did put Camelot Falls in one book until now and thankfully in a beautiful oversized deluxe hardcover which is even better
I've started trade paperback collecting due to your videos xD It'd be great if you'd did more comic book recommending :) (I've so far bought the Batman books you recommended a few years ago)
I hope you can do these for a lot of dc characters. I love these videos and I count on them to pick up stories that might be new to me because it wasn't so commercial.
If we're talking underappreciated Superman stories, I would say the entirety of Martin Pasko's run during the late 1970s, particularly the Laser Defense Initiative storyline with Parasite and Solomon Grundy. Pasko did almost everything with Superman that John Byrne was trying to do, and he managed to do it in the existing continuity of the time. Also, Clark Kent Forever, Superman Never, which featured an alien who landed on Earth around the same time as baby Kal-El for the purpose of destroying the Earth to make way for a intergalactic development project.
I have some recommendations for Superman fans but I'm going to go a different direction here. Being a huge Superman fan I think if you like the character you'll like these. First, the Superman Adventures series. It's the tie-in for Superman:TAS, which I also strongly recommend. The modern Adventures Of Superman series is great too. It's an out-of-continuity series featuring different writers and artists' takes on Superman stories. I enjoy it a lot. John Byrne's run, especially the Man Of Steel miniseries, is the quintessential Superman run in my opinion and that's the origin story I love the most and go back to again and again. Byrne may be a terrible human being but his Superman comics were top-notch. Next, I would say watch the Superboy series. Some very good episodes in there. A lot of bad ones too, but it's a fun show that is not nearly as well-remembered or even known as it should be. Continuing with TV, watch the Lois And Clark pilot episode. It's two hours long and it's surprisingly good. There's some cheese in there (the Luthor snake scene most prominently) but it's worth it because of the overall quality of the piece. The first season of L&C is generally quite good too. "All Shook Up" is a great episode which is based on the George Reeves episode "Panic In The Sky." If you like those, also watch the Superboy episode "Superboy... Lost." It's based on the same story. All three are very good. Smallville's first season is a solid recommend, as are many episodes throughout the series' run but there are too many to list here so just watch the series and you'll get some gems. Also check out the first season of The Adventures of Superman and its movie precursor Superman And The Mole Men. Of course I should also mention Superman For All Seasons but we all know about that one already. Even so, if you've not read it, read it. It's good. And finally, watch Supergirl. It's a good show. I consider it far truer to the spirit of Superman than the current DCEU incarnation. So anyway, that's what I'd recommend for Superman fans. If you have more please add them and we can get a good list going for other fans.
The Wulff Den Well at least in my circles, no one seem to know Kingdom Come or apreciate it as i do. Whomever i know are always like "But Zuperman is incapable of doing evil and can be as strong as he wants" I introduce Kingdom Come and they go "Butz he is so old, and is not a continuity and hec cannot not carez"
I remember reading issues of Action 800-890, one of the only times I can remember reading a masterpiece issue by issue off the shelves.
This is a fantastic list. Thank you for recommending these Superman comics. These are truly underrated.
I'll have to pick these up!

+Wiz Koulikov (WorkSh3d) American Alien #4 was my favorite issue so far.
I'm back in the saddle again. Glad to see the channel is picking up steam. Keep it up. Love the videos.

Can you recommend a Superman comic where he's not "trying to find his place in the world?" the badass side of Superman.
Love all your selections. I know you said no crossovers but... Superman/Batman Apocalypse is one of my favs.

Glad, I found this channel. Really like your content.
I LOVE Godfall. I've seen people rag on it but it's good.
Thank you for this and for linking the batman video to this one. Just purchased heart of hush thanks to you. #comixology #DC #givethismanacontract
Other Superman comics that deserve more readers are: Up, Up and Away, World of New Krypton/War of the Supermen and Grounded.

Keep doing this underrated comics things...and I might even subiscribe to the channel...
What happened with lex author's robot assistant? I wanna know, I don't have the money for comics so I wouldn't find out otherwise.
yess carlos pacheco
Carlos Pacheco drew one of the ugliest versions of Lois Lane ever.
Is it just me or does the thumbnail for this video look like the icon is censoring superman's hotdog and his face looks soo...
It's a Bird and Lex Luthor The Man of Steal.
I'm getting your number ones from Amazon for like $9 in total lol
speeding bullets is fucking awful lol
Is the new 52 action comics any good
+Liam Early everyone seemed to like action when Greg Pak and Aaron Kuder took over the book (issue 25). I'd say start there
Any good DC titles worth reading
WILLLLLLLL
What about the storyline Dominus Effect?
Show show
Any story illustrated by Tim Sale, such as Confidential and For All Seasons is turned into a mediocre comic just because of Sale's art.
Underrated?
Kingdom Come
Overrated?
Everything else.
My two cents.
+Castian Blake Oh and uinderrated Sovietic Superman
Wait, is Kingdom Come underrated? I thought everyone loves that book!
The Wulff Den

+Castian Blake You might need to run in new circles.
Kingdom Come is in way underrated. It's one of the most celebrated DC stories ever. So you're an idiot.
