The Legio is named after him - Legio Kralticus ! I’m currently working on my own Legio, The Fire Wasps - and as such I was very lucky when he loaned me his Legion so I could play!
I think it depends on your goals for the game. Titanicus is a much more balanced and immersive system, but if you're throwing around 20-odd Titans per side, Imperialis will at least get you home by Christmas.

First exposure to LI. This seems MUCH faster paced than standard 40k. Units are also more aggressive, as they all have shields, so you can afford to take a hit or two, and trust your shields to regen. I also love building destruction (kinda bugs me that in standard 40k that when a Knight or tank roll over a building it doesn't destroy it and remove the cover). Looks like loads of fun.

Full disclosure, only Titans have these void shields and this is a specific game mode within Legion Imperialis. Regular LI units do not have shields and are very much don’t make the save, the guys are dead. But it is more fast paced and strategic than 40K

JIND HERE: as I said the day of filming when I was on a a guest, the Terrian really added a lot of joy to the game! The pieces are very evocative and tell their own narrative! It took Nick mere seconds to envision an airfield and before you knew it he added a crashed bomber that was taken out on its desperate attempt to flee the doomed city before the traitors seized control! A crashed Baneblade on the main highway! Suddenly buildings became Knight Keeps or a Planetary Governor palace - and we had so much fun talking about the battlefield before the game began! Did it factor into the mission? No! But did it elevate our game play experience and turn this into just “a game” into a hard fought recreation right from the most bitter Engine Wars from the Horus Heresy? YES! And the set is SO PLAYABLE! - sturdy - no annoying “easy to break off” parts - well painted - well detailed AND BEST OF ALL… - RUINED versions that made me lose my cool and accidently bring down the mega Keep that ultimately was my ONE BIG MISTAKE and cost my the game! But as I said on the video.. no regrets! I’d do it again! Thanks for giving a humble guest the chance to use this incredible Terrian set! Can’t wait to add a set to my home table!!!

Agreed I would love to see some Classic Alpha Strike Aces or Even DFA's Override Any and all would be sick Also just because I had no clue and every one I have heard from didn't know, Penny Arcade runs a Destiny campaign called Black Remnant With Tyco as the Merc Commander.

@@Waaagghhh Yeah, I didn't mean this particular battle. Titandeath is probably better for that. A fun shooter where you can field your entire collection of Titans. I meant they should try playing standard Titanicus game of 2000 points. That would be fun 😄
I can't tell you how much WH40K I've watched in the past 5 years but this is the first game where I've said "I'd like to play that!". I knew they would hook me at some point! This is going to get expensive!
JIND HERE: As a MAD fan of Legions I can't tell you just how incredible the game is - AND surprisingly affordable! Literally just buy TWO starter sets and you're good to go for a LONG, LONG time as that gives you a really solid Marine/Solar Auxila force with 4 Warhounds. Use magnets for the guns on the Titans. I'd also suggest from there you play a few games and lean into which faction makes you tick - and then see if there is a 'battle force' box available - as they hold tremendous value - at this point you don't need much more to invest OTHER THAN wanting to get cool looking things for the sheer pleasure of it!
JIND HERE; yes! Isn’t it glorious! These models date back to when there was a game called “Adeptus Titanicus”, a very elegant and amazing game that ONLY featured Titans and Knights! It remains a beautiful game! But recently GW surprised us when they featured infantry and vehicles and gave us Legions Imperialis! It’s my fave game of all timem

@ the passion shined through! I’m an older player who had epic back in the day and I agree. LI is the best game GW has. That, and Warmaster, are virtually the only GW games I still play now.
@ as a fellow old timer I’m right there with you! My first table top game was Epic Space Marine at the tender age of 16, and we moved to the next edition with the Emperor Titan and Mega Gargants & that was my highlight of gaming! Fast forward almost 30 years later and imagine my sheer joy when LI was released Epic is my main game once more!
JT plays Battletech? Unexpected but welcome. Wouldn't mind seeing some matches of Battletech from him. Its also reminded me I still haven't painted my five lances of late succession wars era mercenaries I have.
I'll admit, I'm mostly into LI for the infantry, tanks, and flyers. But, I'd be lying if I said I don't enjoy big, stompy robots. Good show! The GF9 terrain looks great... might have to add some more to my collection.

When I was asked if I’d like to guest on the show and play Titan Death I JUMPED at the chance - as like you I personally love the combined arms approach in my own games of LI, BUT the spectacle of pure Titans is exhilarating! When I then saw the exclusive Terrian I was blown away! It not only LOOKS cool, it’s incredibly good from a gamer point of view. Well detailed, DURABLE, no annoying “easy to break off” parts, but also told a narrative and became part of the game RATHER THAN be something to just block line of sight. Best part… They have the ruined versions so it was so much fun smashing them down!!

For Loyalists it’s going to be Ultramarines, but I’m most likely going to also add some White Scars at one point in life. For the Solar Auxila it’s deliberately neutral so can be used as either allegiance. BUT for the Mechanicus it’s just Mars, House Taranis, and Legio Ignatum!!!!

As someone who grew up in the hood/ around gangs in Chicago living that life style of always absolutely loved Warhammer and now have my own models and find this stuff so intimidating coming from my background, the few others I’ve met where kinda mean? Rude when I used the improper terms for certain models or modes of gameplay??? Watching these is a great help and I wish you guys luck in creating more bangers

I’m so happy to see more LI content! I’ve really enjoyed the handful of games I’ve gotten to play. One thing I’ve learned is that I THINK you’re making a slight error with void shields- I think you don’t roll saves when hits are allocated to void shields, and it looks like you are. I was only corrected on this on my most recent LI game. It’s hard to pick up on because the rules don’t explicitly call this out, just leave it as an implication. Great video regardless!
Hello! The expansion book, The Great Slaughter, brings all the expanded rules for playing JUST Titans vs Titans (and Knights!) games using ONLY TITANS & KNIGHTS! As such we have access to a few extra rules such as the void shield saves, and restrictions on targeting enemy units - it’s an incredibly amazing book with a fantastic campaign, and great rules for Solar Auxila and Astartes besides, 100% suggest you get this book!

JIND HERE: thanks! Play On Tycho Painted most of their forces, except the Warlord that was done by Nick! The ones I used were loaned to me by Jeremy (painter) and Colin (owner) as my own Legio (Fire Wasps) is current under construction!!!
JIND HERE: actually they were painted by a great friend of mine, and this was before we had a lot of source material for Titanicus, so he created his own Legio Kraulticus (after his last name) and it just so happens to look similar to Krytos!

This battle was not so balanced from my perspective. Loyalist player was less experienced and that warmaster was truly a definition of deadly. They are basically an improved and more sophisticated versions of emperor class walking churches.
JIND HERE; it was mostly the fact I was too overcome with excitement of playing Titan Death, and then add in the fact it was at the studio with Nick, and then add in that amazing Terrian we got to use which included the destroyed sections, that I was dying to use, and it became just a blur of excitement - and after it was all said and done and we finished filming I had to go search for my Tactical mindset which i found dropped under the table !!!😂😂😂

You missed making some of the building take mortal would from the exploding units from the get go. With the destroyed terrain you have it would have been kinda cool to assign wounds to the buildings.

ik it may seem a little silly but there has got to be a battle where both sides have a emperor class titan and a bigger playing area to accomadate for it maybe double or trip the size of this board depending on the scale of the emperor titans in said form but it seems as a silly idea though.

I love that you used the names for all of the Loyalist titans. My own titans all have names and their own custom command terminals for Titanicus.
use titanicus rules for an all titans game X use legiones imperialis which is a less good system for titans!

i wanna see so many more epic scaled battles! it seems like a really fun way to play the grimdark future. its actually inspired us to start the creation of our own grimdark galaxy and if it turns into a tabletop game itll definitely be in epic scale

I can't tell you how much WH40K I've watched in the past 5 years but this is the first game where I've said "I'd like to play that!". I knew they would hook me at some point! This is going to get expensive!
JIND HERE: As a MAD fan of Legions I can't tell you just how incredible the game is - AND surprisingly affordable! Literally just buy TWO starter sets and you're good to go for a LONG, LONG time as that gives you a really solid Marine/Solar Auxila force with 4 Warhounds. Use magnets for the guns on the Titans. I'd also suggest from there you play a few games and lean into which faction makes you tick - and then see if there is a 'battle force' box available - as they hold tremendous value - at this point you don't need much more to invest OTHER THAN wanting to get cool looking things for the sheer pleasure of it!

These models date back to when there was a game called “Adeptus Titanicus”, a very elegant and amazing game that ONLY featured Titans and Knights!
It remains a beautiful game!
But recently GW surprised us when they featured infantry and vehicles and gave us Legions Imperialis!

@ the passion shined through! I’m an older player who had epic back in the day and I agree. LI is the best game GW has. That, and Warmaster, are virtually the only GW games I still play now.
@ as a fellow old timer I’m right there with you! My first table top game was Epic Space Marine at the tender age of 16, and we moved to the next edition with the Emperor Titan and Mega Gargants & that was my highlight of gaming! Fast forward almost 30 years later and imagine my sheer joy when LI was released Epic is my main game once more!

I'll admit, I'm mostly into LI for the infantry, tanks, and flyers. But, I'd be lying if I said I don't enjoy big, stompy robots. Good show!

When I then saw the exclusive Terrian I was blown away! It not only LOOKS cool, it’s incredibly good from a gamer point of view. Well detailed, DURABLE, no annoying “easy to break off” parts, but also told a narrative and became part of the game RATHER THAN be something to just block line of sight. Best part…
They have the ruined versions so it was so much fun smashing them down!!

For Loyalists it’s going to be Ultramarines, but I’m most likely going to also add some White Scars at one point in life. For the Solar Auxila it’s deliberately neutral so can be used as either allegiance. BUT for the Mechanicus it’s just Mars, House Taranis, and Legio Ignatum!!!!

As someone who grew up in the hood/ around gangs in Chicago living that life style of always absolutely loved Warhammer and now have my own models and find this stuff so intimidating coming from my background, the few others I’ve met where kinda mean? Rude when I used the improper terms for certain models or modes of gameplay??? Watching these is a great help and I wish you guys luck in creating more bangers

I’m so happy to see more LI content! I’ve really enjoyed the handful of games I’ve gotten to play. One thing I’ve learned is that I THINK you’re making a slight error with void shields- I think you don’t roll saves when hits are allocated to void shields, and it looks like you are. I was only corrected on this on my most recent LI game. It’s hard to pick up on because the rules don’t explicitly call this out, just leave it as an implication.

Hello! The expansion book, The Great Slaughter, brings all the expanded rules for playing JUST Titans vs Titans (and Knights!) games using ONLY TITANS & KNIGHTS! As such we have access to a few extra rules such as the void shield saves, and restrictions on targeting enemy units - it’s an incredibly amazing book with a fantastic campaign, and great rules for Solar Auxila and Astartes besides, 100% suggest you get this book!

JIND HERE: thanks! Play On Tycho Painted most of their forces, except the Warlord that was done by Nick! The ones I used were loaned to me by Jeremy (painter) and Colin (owner) as my own Legio (Fire Wasps) is current under construction!!!
Some beautiful Legio Krytos models.
JIND HERE: actually they were painted by a great friend of mine, and this was before we had a lot of source material for Titanicus, so he created his own Legio Kraulticus (after his last name) and it just so happens to look similar to Krytos!

This battle was not so balanced from my perspective. Loyalist player was less experienced and that warmaster was truly a definition of deadly. They are basically an improved and more sophisticated versions of emperor class walking churches.

You missed making some of the building take mortal would from the exploding units from the get go. With the destroyed terrain you have it would have been kinda cool to assign wounds to the buildings.

ik it may seem a little silly but there has got to be a battle where both sides have a emperor class titan and a bigger playing area to accomadate for it maybe double or trip the size of this board depending on the scale of the emperor titans in said form but it seems as a silly idea though.
