That missed strike call that gifted Philly three runs might be the worst non strike call I have ever seen in my entire life.
For real. That guy is a walking petition for robo umps
They need to discipline that umpire, that is egregious.
I agree even though Fried didn’t pitch well that pitch would have gotten him out of the inning. What pissed me off was the ump just standing there like it was the right call. He should be fined or sent down to double A.
That was very egregious, I’m surprised that the 1st or 3rd base umps didn’t confer with the home ump. The ball was like 4 or 5 inches below the top of the K zone.

@@2TONKA As long as they keep matching up, they inevitably will. Just like you can't count on the Phillies to keep winning their wildcard matchup. It's going to look 10x worse if the Braves go all the way afterwards. Keep praying.

I’m not saying Fried was on…but that missed called 3rd strike should have that umpire questioning his own ability to continue this line of work. It cost 3 runs in that spot and required early use of the bullpen. Inconsistent strike zone but consistent horrible calls.
So, my question is do these shitty calls get reviewed with the ump after the game or is it just swept under the rug? A rhetorical question of course, but they should get called down on the carpet for these bad calls. It was a costly mistake. Luckily the Braves said FU and hung up 12.
Yeah, I thought that and was like “Fried isn’t throwing another fastball after that pitch.” That ump probably had bets on this game.

Man, any pitching staff is going to have major issues dealing with this lineup. Kelenic has such a quick swing and barrels the hell out of the ball. Harris is taking what they give him, struggled with that early last year. Olson is a friggin monster, we all know about Acuna. Albies, Arcia, Ozuna and Travis with great ABs. Only one that is in a mini struggle is Riley and we also know thats not going to last...this lineup is legit dangerous.
Yea, Riley had a mini breakout there at the end too, that double was barreled, looked like his timing was finally fully on

Looks like Jared Kelenic is gonna be a great addition for the Braves in left field...base hits everywhere and a great diving catch. It's so good to see the Braves beating Philly and sending their fans home disappointed. That homeplate umpire needs to be sent home...permanently.

I'm not worried about LA because we've beaten them in the regular and post-season. The Mets are, well, the Mets😆. We gotta get past Philly in October. They own us in post-season play going back to the '93 NLCS.

The worst part of the missed call at 3:10 is that the ump will almost surely face zero consequences for it. That was a massive call to miss. It’s time for roboumps.

Mike Harris and Orlando Arcia have 12 hits in 2 games. The Philadelphia Phillies have 13.
They say that they will “Run it back” huh? As a Braves guy, that Philly formula isn’t guaranteed to work as their players age. San Fran has Webb and Snell who are every bit as dangerous as Wheeler and Nola and AZ is certainly on Philadelphia’s level. A hot Philly team would still get smoked by a hot Braves team anywhere….just haven’t seen it in the postseason. This series is all good but the “faux phightin’s” aren’t at their best yet. Braves vs Phillies regular season doesn’t mean anything to me, Bravos need to “take their hearts” in the postseason.

Phillies have been gifted a team with a week layoff the last two years. I hope the Braves organization has found a way to keep them fresh during that because they will win the division again

What I suggest is an informal short series during that off-week with the AL Champ to keep things in order. However, you know the MLB would never let that happen.
Like i said yesterday, its always a good day when the phills, mets, and/or yankees lose and Bravos win. Its especially good to watch Harper go A$$ over teakettle into the dugout.

He had NO CONTROL Today, and it worries me greatly that it could be something WORSE than performance. Let's pray it's not.

Umpires tried to help philly out yesterday but didn't matter. Also hilarious that Aaron Nola is already in classic Aaron Nola form. He can generally eat innings and that's about it. He was a definite overpay

3 things I am excited about: 1/ there is no hang over with this guys, right off a great offensive season, they came out on fire and looks really hungry, the "stay together" hand sign really fit this group well, everyone stick together, its team work ! 2/ It's only one game, and Jared Kelenic if its advertises, this is going to be a fun year, it's a threat everywhere in the line up, I hope Jared tear up his opponent this year, it will be a new Harris at 9th spot before Acuna ! 3/ Phillis is still a good team in my opinion, I am glad that they bear them, but there are still plenty of games, I am much more looking forward for Phillies to go back in and face us again, as a fan and competitor, I want to beat them in playoff instead of regular season.
