What a glorious performance! I'm a former trumpeter and Cantata 51 has been a lifelong favorite. But I've never heard it played and sung with as much pure JOY. The singing could not be any clearer or more musical. Brava!

Besonders positiv fällt mir ihre klassische Gesangshaltung auf - nicht steif, sondern auf das Nötigste reduziert, um so wenig wie möglich von den Tönen abzulenken. Ebenso angenehm empfinde ich ihren „mimischen Minimalismus“ - es gelingt ihr ohne übertriebene Ausgleichbewegungen die Töne voll zum tragen zu bringen. Just because something is hard to achieve (or sing) doesn't mean you shouldn't do or (or sing) it anyway! This performance is beautifully mind over matter to me. Sometimes people in my country never work at something like this a skill and want it that much. Achieving something like this and being a genius at it rich or poor, brings nothing but joy into one's life no matter what nationality you are! It gave me such joy to be one as well and write over 200 compositions, 8 books and 435 poems and study early music like you. That is a wonderful voice. It filled me with jubilation, well done!

Mag-NI-ficent! What a glorious voice, pure and clear and perfectly even across the range - even the high C sounds effortless. Bravissima. And GORGEOUS playing from the trumpeter and the orchestra - what a perfect ensemble!
I have listened to countless recordings of this piece over the last 50+ years - Schwartzkopf, Battle, Stich-Randall and Sampson stand out - and this one not far from the best, not least due to Wunderli's wonderful playing. When I learned to play the trumpet, the "modern baroque" instrument he plays did not exist. After being 'invented' it was played badly for many years, but today musicians such as he have revived the golden age of Bach trumpet playing. Fabulous!
I confess I was looking for where the orchestra was, it doesn't seem that there are only three instruments. I've watched the video a few dozen times. Kathrin has an impressive talent and a beautiful voice. I would like to watch more of your presentations
This really is the very best performance of this Aria I ever came across. Kathrin absolutely has the most beautiful voice (and the looks to match, tbh), and carries said voice with an astounding clarity and flow. I hope we see more videos from her!

This was simply delightful. Very clear, exact and pleasing in all respects. Four excellent musicians made this aria appear much bigger than it actually was. I liked the surprising pause at 1:40. I enjoyed the grace notes used by Kathrin and I loved the last trumpet ornamentation. I have played the organ part before (with pedals!) so I appreciated how Frederic made "the orchestra" come alive!

@@tomsport4537 warum sollte es. Viele Stimmen sind so entdeckt worden. Blazikova zum Beispiel die mit dem damals kaum bekannten Vaclav Luks in Tschechien auftrat und heute eine bekannte Sängerin der barocken Szene ist. Gardiner setzte sie in seinem Monteverdi Opern Cycle als Pompea ein
