I think I found my bass spirit animal. Love all these. The Roscoe had the best B, unbelievable how huge but defined it is and the Smith and Warwick sound great too . If I had to take one it be the Roscoe
Moreover after listening again with headphones the Roscoe and Smith sound very similar. They both have that “Rasp”. Both have similar pickup locations. The Roscoe has a bit more “p bass” in the mids that makes it fuller than the Smith just from this sound sample. The Warwick sound cool too , no doubt unique non traditional basses but that’s what I like about them. Thanks for making this
You're welcome! I think you're right about the Roscoe having more mids. They both may sound similar in this mix but if you were demoing them side by side you would have no problem picking out the Smith, it is definitely has a distinct character.
I would have bet Sadowsky for the win before Listening but honestly the Ken Smith was the most balanced for all sounds to my ears .very cool. Do you have a favorite?
Ken Smith 🔥🔥🔥

I also have a Roscoe fretless with a B string that kills.
My friend you will never go wrong with a Roscoe.

I have since sold the Warwick, the Ken Smith, the Sadowsky, and the Modern Vintage so I guess the others are my favourites.
