@@Rush1017 It all depends on whether he practices or not. If you practice lead, you'll get good at lead. The skills used for rhythm aren't always transferable to lead playing.
davidxrussell The guitar is too loud, and it kinda lacks (cuz pat is playing lead guitar (nothing against him I love his guitar work) again) plus it's not that much different. The original has synths and I think that brings the nostalgia home.
What I like the most about Weezer is that it doesn't how many years have passed, their style remains authentic, they always find a way to keep their music being great, they create new music, but without losing their essence.
I'm mega late to this comment ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°) but really, it's likely not up to them; a lot of these recording sessions (RedBull, AOL, etc.) do it in post. It's not necessary, especially with a voice as clean as Rivers', but it is what it is I suppose.
They don’t use autotune, rivers has just got an extremely acute sense of pitch, and with the addition of a few effects like gated reverb and strange eq it can create the artificial feeling you’re talking about. But you can see pretty clearly in this performance (especially 2nd verse) that there is no pitch correction
jeankil He sounds rough in a bad way here. On Pinkerton he sings with passion. Here it's forced, gimmicky and he's straining and missing notes left and right. imho.
This video pissed me off. Not because it was bad or "Meh Pat idnt hittin da drum and River haz no geetur" It's that. People are bitching about anything that isn't Blue or Pinkerton. I mean now we're two albums in the green with EWBAITE and White but there's still so much bitching. I don't care that Weezer "got you" back in middle school and now they're different and you don't like change. Be constructive and open minded.
Its because it's in the middle of their discography. It's not like a high or low point in their career, more of a footnote that's why people don't pay much attention to this album
oooh i have a theory that when band start to post more stuff they are either working on an album or about to go on tour. but the question is which one?
I actually like this recording better than the album version! Makes me appreciate the song a bit more.
Just proves how awesome nerds are!
From Weezer to Foo Fighters! Congrats, Josh Freese! 🥁
This version kicks ass. I like the way this one sounds a lot more than the one on Hurley.
Gnomes make Rivers get into an emotional state
AMAZING!!!!
Awesome!!!!
weezer rules!
Love it :D
so when are Weezer in the UK? I can travel lol
☮️
3:02 is a list of all the sections from Pink Triangle on the kit. Interested to know if there's more recordings from Red Bull Studios to be released.
Weezer and jackass, it's just right x
3:02....
I'm pretty sure that's Brian's guitar, not synth.
Isn't live from studio an oxymoron??
Not necessarily, this is still being performed live in one take, without overdubbing or post-production mixing.
I love how Brian's been second guitar since the dawn of time and Pat still gets the solo.
Brian's not a very good lead player though.
+lazrpo I don't get how you can play guitar for 20+ years and not be good at lead
he actually plays lead guitar on some really good songs
Maybe he just prefers playing rhythm guitar

I want a re-release of Hurley using this setup please and thank you

Uh, have you heard the Black Album?
@@jaden_bricker yeah Black album was kinda bad imo, but then they came back with Ok Human and Van Weezer, which I think are very cool.
The responses to this comment were surprisingly tame. Lol. I don't care, I enjoy some of Black Album.
Pat, the most bored guitarist on Earth XD
Lol
Damn these guys still got it. =W=
Pat! Nice Radiohead T-shirt! I love that CD!
I love weezer, but why do you use autotune? your mega without it!
I'm mega late to this comment ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

Rivers Cuomo is one of my few favorite vocalists that sounds better live than in the recordings haha forgive me if you disagree
Nah, dude. I saw them last year. It was amazing. I couldn't believe it.
Definitely not the case in this video. He sounds pretty rough here.
Dermot that's extactly what sounds good and why Pinkerton was so good

I'm a 2000's kid, so, by extension I wasn't around when weezer released Blue and Pinkerton, so albums like Hurley and Green are like that to me
3:24 rivers going through stuff
He was imagining he was a forest gnome battling elves or something
I'm pretty sure Rivers rectified the traits of the song through Eulogy of a Rock Band, same vibe quite the same melody.
damnnn this guy looks the same since i see him when i was 17
When the drummer wants too play guitar and the front guy wants to write music fir 11 y.o. kids
Forest nomes lol

Daniel Carlile Let us not forget Hurley. It's a bit controversial but coming off of Raditude it's amazing

I can hear auto tune on the voices, I'm sure it wasn't up to weezer though
tribute to ryan dunn
Love recording like this. Whole band going down at the same time :D
Brian's harmonies sound really good
More stuff from the Hurley era needs to come out, that was one of your best albums and you skipped right to the Blue/Pinkerton memories era!
=w= song rocks =w=
that is the guy of The All American Rejects?
Daniel Pérez no.
Wow. Rockin' guitars!
Almost wanna say I dig this more then the LP version.
Awesome
Nord Lead, Nord Stage, Moog Subsequent 37 (I think)
MORE SONGS OF THIS SESSION PLEASE!
Love Josh Freese!!
3:24...
That part makes me cry men :')
This mindset is exactly why we never got more Pinkerton esqe music rivers wants to people please to much
Basically magic the gatjerimgi
Inspired this:)
Is that a setlist by the drums? I hope we see more videos from this recording
This is such a good song. The live recording just brings me back to listening to this and need to get it back on my phone. Thanks for it.

Josh Freese!
Good
great song
Weezer Is the best =W=
Love it
One of my favorite Weezer songs.
So the drummer is the guitar player now...?
Yeah
Why did Pat stop doing drums?
+Jayde R Maybe Rivers should play the lead guitar, and Pat should play the drums.
+Patrick Lee take me back back to the shack
That synth is playing itself in the chorus!
ah, the whole damn thing is an overdub.
