    Am I the only one who gets emotional watching these missions? This is such a massive accomplishment, I don't think a lot of people appreciate how much work goes into making it all happen.

      yip, always feel overwhelmed with the progress. But I also feel sad because I don't think ill experience the fruits that this labour will bring us, I hope to experience space and the views and the micro gravity before I die.

      They never left earth atmosphere clearly it took 2hrs that is just a trip to the top almost space. Still no stars no planets no moon or sun live ....smh ppl are so 😒 they are hiding another still hence the thermal video of landing ....not transparent at all waste of money ...

      Heat from the re entry is at plasma level, radio/video signal are easily lost inside of that plume sonit's basically impossible/mega hard to get any signal from and to the capsule.

      Technically speaking they are not in 0 gravity, they are in constant free fall. The ISS is not in space, but as matter of fact in the orbit at height of 250-260miles above the ground. Or aprox 400kilometers above the ground. Gravity is still nearly 90% as strong as at the Earth's surface.

      1. The ISS is in constant freefall and is experiencing 0 apparent weight, which is essentially 0 G.
      2. 'Space' starts at 100km, the ISS is well into space.

    We are watching the beginning of the end of the astronaut as this sort of emotional human.. the hugs, the professional camaraderie. In 10 years, if not sooner, these events will be commonplace and not all people working in space will be as highly trained and vetted as these people. There will be a levelling of standards and different peer cohorts will become established. Space is becoming less mysterious. Some amazing times in which we live.

    I was out taking night time photos of celestial bodies and there on my camera was this thing I had no idea what it was. I had no idea about SpaceX at the time as far as their launch/Re-entry. I knew it was the wrong shape for the space station. So after examining the photos inside later and did some research I discovered it was SpaceX.

      They are hypergolocmthrusters so will look a bit different from the cold gas ones were used to

      Not the same kind of RCS as you probably know from Kerbal Space Program. These are a bit more like small rocket engines, there's fuel being burned, and they're making their own light.
      Cold gas thrusters, like you do see on KSP, are used on the Falcon 9 boosters for their RCS. Watch some of the booster landing videos, you'll see them. They look quite different!

      One astronaut was able to walk after leaving the capsule (with assistance) the other three left on stretchers (not a very dignified exit) because after a long duration spaceflight your legs don't work correctly.

    Truly AMAZING! I have been a fan of NASA since the Apollo 8 thru 17 missions when I was in grade school. I am now 64 years old. Our generation was truly blessed to witness technology advancement in such a short time. Next stop the moon and beyond (Mars ) Thank you President Kennedy for inspiring us to reach the Stars.     All these videos have little specs on the screen that look like stars. Can anyone enlighten me? From using the cameras to shoot stars, burnt their sensors? I thought dust at one time but can't figure it.

    My question is that how long does it take them to reach the ISS when they are going and how long does it take them from ISS back to the earth when coming back?

      It depends on the ISS relative position, location of a launch site and the launch time.
      It usually took about 50 hrs.
      In some cases Russia is capable to reach ISS in 3 and half hrs.

    Am I the only one that notices at 9:13? They said the white dot is the capsule then it moves like a cursor and they said they were adjusting the camera but nothing else moved in the shot but the white dot?

      What confusing about that? :)
      The capsule is very close to the earth, the background is up to thousands of lightyears away. Even slight changes in the camera angle will be visible when focusing on the capsule, but the background won't move due to the distance! Keep in mind that is a heavy zoom as well!

      No, if they push them self from the wall of iss, the iss will move a tiny bit, but when they hit the other side, the forces cancel each other out

    This is an amazing accomplishment for the engineers, designers, and mission control staff that built and operate these craft.
    I fail to see any mystique for the passengers. These days, they are merely passengers on a fully automated ship. They are no more astronauts than the people riding in an airliner should be considered as aircrew.
    If you disagree with me, my question to you is “What is the threshold that you WOULD consider them as merely being passengers?” Keep in mind, sooner or later, even families with young children will be riding on rockets simply to “hitch a ride” to where they’re going. I contend that we’ve already crossed that threshold.
