I love how the seething anger of this song is then immediately replaced by the jaunty feel-good strains of"Lazing on a Sunday afternoon."

It's a pity to think of the millions and millions who only know Queen's greatest hits and how they're missing out on this song/this album. Night at the Opera is one of the world's greatest records and if you love Bohemian Rhapsody you HAVE to hear the Prophet's Song, Death on Two Legs, Good Company, etc. THEY'RE WALKING AROUND OUT THERE AND THEY'VE MISSED OUT!

Beth Jersey I thought he did a great job! Brian said in an interview that he thought Freddie was a bit vicious. He should have been.! The whole band got ripped off while execs driving Rolls Royces!!! Kind of wonder what Freddie was like when he lost his temper. I would just have stood there all dopey-eyed and taken it while getting lost in his eyes!!!

In one of his interviews, Freddie said he could be a real c@unt and that he'd a terrible temper and would smash up things which got quite expensive darling! God bless his heart! Of course I'd never met him but somehow I feel that I have thx to these documentary videos!

2 parts of this interview made me laugh. Roger: "...we just had a great album, and a hit with Killer Queen...and we were BROKE." Brian describing how vicious the song is and screwing up his face thinking "Freddie are you SURE about this...geez, well OK..."

    • @CB-xr1eg

Clive Bindley the situations weren't funny but their recounting them were funny (at least that's what I got). Sometimes you have to go with some wit and humor wronged. It's a coping mechanism that helps both the wronged and the person/ppl receiving the recounted story.

It amazes me how so many people still love Queen and Freddie. And Queen was my generation- I am two months older than Brian and to see younger people discovering Queen and Freddie and being as wound up over them as the rest of my generation, is awesome. Freddie was the oldest, born in 1946, then Brian (and me!) in 1947, Roger in 1949, and John in 1951. The REAL Baby Boomers! And my generation has musicians playing well in to their 70's, which previous generations never saw! Look at The Stones, in their middle 70's and still performing even if not touring. Darn you, Freddie-- your foolishness caused the world to be denied of you and Queen. And you would still have pranced across that stage today at 72 as only Freddie Mercury could have. I still love you, my Persian Beauty and you still take my breath away.

Been listening to Queen since I was just a toddler back in the early 90s since that's what my parents listened to along with AC/DC, Def Leppard, and so on. Sitting in my late twenties and I still love Queen. I finally got the opportunity to check out this entire album and I was simply blown away by it. Plus, Freddie's venom in this song is fantastically brutal, but for good reason. Sadly, he died somewhere around the time I was born, so I never had the chance to see him in person, but his legacy still lives on and will continue to live on through generations, I'm sure.

    • @brittneybrisbin744

I'm 19 and I recently found Queen just by going back to the few songs of theirs I already knew and I eventually found nearly all of their discography. I can't believe how amazing this band was and even now still is. Freddie's voice is just incredible and the instrumental arrangements the rest of the guys came up with for every single song they ever did are amazing, too. Plus, for me, when I saw Freddie and learned more about who he was as a person, I really felt I had found someone I identified with. He was someone who was made fun of in school, as I have been. A lot of people thought he was weird or odd, and a lot of people have thought the same of me. Plus he had a huge passion for music, as do I. I can see so much of myself in him, which made me fall even more in love with Queen. Never again will there be a band as incredible, iconic, and legendary as Queen.

But I remember being 15 years old and listening to the entire Night at the Opera album, on my headphones, over and over. Death On Two Legs was a favorite.

But if someone can get away with publicly shaming that behavior, then more power to them. Especially if they can do it with half the style Death on Two Legs does.

The man in question is Norman Sheffield...the owner of Trident Records, which Queen had signed to early on. After ANATO was released, he sued the band for libel...and won. Rumors are that the settlement was 100,000 pounds...can't tell you what that was in US dollars at the time. The guy they hired to manage them after that...John Reid, ended up screwing them as well. All of this is in the book "Queen As It Began" which was written by two people very close to the band and was endorsed by Brian...it was published shortly after Freddie died. It's a good book if you can find it...really goes into detail...unlike the movie, which kind of "wandered around" a bit, IMO.
