We were lucky. I saw them in 2021 recently. Amazing. Saw them on the side stage at Lollapaooza in 1992 too, and half a dozen times in between. Like you said the best of our generation.

Loved the 60s and 70s, and other than a Very few bands in the 80s, couldn't stand (especially the so called Metal bands geared toward 12 year old boys) Thought I was going to stick with the Great music I grew up with, THEN THE 90S Happened, WOW what a breath of fresh air bringing Art back to the music again and TOOL IS ONE That Definitely took me there!!

Most people consider Tool prog-rock/metal, but they really are their own genre. It's also worth mentioning that their lyrics are usually pretty deep.
Haha... Yeah. I don't bother at all. I just find the beat and bob my head to that. Eventually it lines up or the emphasis is left for a bit then it's right. No biggie, lol.
It's a 6 minute song that you don't ever won't to end.
This song lights my soul on fire, it's a great wake up song.
If The Pot was 20 minutes long it would not be long enough.
Please listen to more tool. For a lot of us tool fans, we love watching someone appreciate them like you do. It's like reexperiencing our own discovery of them.

Hahahahaha I was waiting for that. A lot of people think that chord is end on the first listen. Same with the last chorus of Pneuma. The feedback is held out extra long and hits that much harder when it goes back to the chorus riff

Go for Right in Two with Tool, the buildup and climax of the song is absolutely beautiful. Not to mention the silly monkeys that we are.
My favorite Tool song has got to be "Hooker With A Penis" as for memories or soul connections. The album Aenima is beyond special to me. It was life changing. Just a masterpiece of an album.
I was playing in bands at that period of my life, and this album actually threw me into a Savage depression that lasted for about a week after it came out.

So with TOOL you get SEGUES, HIDDEN TRACKS, BACKWARD MESSAGES, INCREDIBLE ALBUM ART, and AMAZING ENGINEERING, and 4 of the MOST INCREDIBLE MUSICIANS on the PLANET. Start at their first EP OPIATE and just plow on through from album to album.

You have entered the rabbit hole. Tool is amazing. The entire Aenima record is incredible. Probably my favorite from them. You can't go wrong with any of their stuff though. I've been a fan since 1993 when I picked up Undertow from a record store on a whim not knowing a thing about Tool. Best impulse decision ever. Not the biggest fan of their latest release, but you can't question the musicianship.

Enjoy....Tool have been my favourite band for almost 30 years...you might have to wait 10 - 15 years between albums but they never disappoint, each one an evolution of the next
And this is one of their simpler time signatures ha. Maynard does so many different things with his voice as well. I am a 60 year old woman and Tool is my favorite band, you will be doing yourself a great favor if you dive further into their fantastic catalog. With this song as your intro I think you would love these songs by them: 46&2, The Grudge, Jambi, Lateralus, Vicarious...too many more to list! My fave song is Descending, what a mind trip, but it's off their latest album and is a long song. Their song 7empest, also off the latest album (2019), is 16 minutes of insane energy ha. The vocalist Maynard is front man on 2 other bands as well, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer so he's a busy guy! Owns his own winery as well.
Almost every reacter that does Tool says at one point "why have I not listened to them before, these guys are amazing!" You will too...

This is by far my favorite band. Keep doing Tool reactions and the Tool fans will be very appreciative. And you might just discover your new favorite band. This is a perfect introduction to them but trust me you are just getting started. These guys’ catalogue has some of the most epic shit that’s ever been written and put into song. I suggest doing Forty6&2 for your next one so you can see their range and diversity. Also pulling up the lyrics will greatly benefit your appreciation of these guys. It’s pure art.

I've been watching your reactions on Slaughter to Prevail and its always a joy to see you get amped up. Tool is my favorite band of all time, full stop. You gat a sub from me because of this fact. Every song is different and great in its own right. After you get about 15 songs into their catalogue you'll start to compare every other group to them and those other bands will seem bland and nondescript comparatively. I know you like chunky beats so the next track you react to should be Jambi... great bass riffs. The drummer Danny Carey is nicknamed "The Octopus" for good reason... considered the GOAT among fans. The more you listen to them, the more nuances you will hear... so in essence, even if you hear the same song its like hearing it for the first time with new ears. All of this and more is why Tool fans are diehards and are called "The Tool Army" for a reason. Keep your mind open and enjoy spiraling out brother. 🤘🤘🤘

The best rock band in the world
I saw TOOL live in Nashville and it was literally soul cleansing, and the beat with each song they played would change the pattern of my heartbeat to match. Incredible live although when I saw them that’s when Maynard didn’t reveal himself on stage, just performed full get up in the dark shadow off into the back of the stage out of the audience sight. There are no bad songs by them, and he also has 2 other bands along with featuring on other artist tracks. We’re not worthy 🤘🏼 welcome to the TOOL army 👽

tool has a wide spectrumof songs, , they do have a couple heavy songs , some of the older one. but they are very interesting. i have been a fan since early 1994 . sober was the first song i heard, 1 daylater i had bought the album undertow. great band

I don't think Tool can be categorized. They are something different. My wife is the biggest Tool fan. We keep their tunes on our playlist. Their music never gets old. Timeless.

'Spaced Proper' seems apropos - this band has mastered the power of the silence in between the music. Amongst a plethora of other things that make this elite level rare.

I thought Tool were growl metal too dude until 3 years ago. And I now eat breath and sleep Tool. I saw them for the first time in Dublin in May of 2022 and was dumbfounded. I cried for 5 minutes because I never thought I’d see them live. I love your reaction when you thought the song was over , I think you said under your breath “good” 🙂

One crazy fact that is often overlooked... 4 guys and 4 natural instruments. Sure they have an awesome support/sound group but its bare bones 4-man band. Think of that when you are jamming on super HD sound!! Amazing!

Welcome to the Tool rabbit hole. I've been in it for 20 years and still doing great :)... Next one? 'Vicarious' , 'the Grudge', Schism', '46&2'... and then after that 'Lateralus', one of their masterpieces.. I recomend to do reactions to audio only - if you're new to Tool you have to hear every sound. And please pay attention to lyrics, they're really deep and universal..
