@@MB-fx6vb Yeah he can be somewhat intelligent (though I doubt it bc even Vendy a vending machine is more intellectual than Axis, letting alone Alphys’s creations), but the point is I don’t even get what an army of boss monsters really benefits. It’s kind of a headcanon, but I don’t think boss monsters are necessarily stronger than regular monsters in terms of stats - Chujin himself, being a boss monster, certainly is not as strong as Ceroba or Undyne. Moreover, more boss monsters means more chances of a human absorbing monster souls and just become a god.

It’s kind of a headcanon, but I don’t think boss monsters are necessarily stronger than regular monsters in terms of stats - Chujin himself, being a boss monster, certainly is not as strong as Ceroba or Undyne. Moreover, more boss monsters means more chances of a human absorbing monster souls and just become a god.

I mean, to be fair, there really was no other candidate. It had to be a Boss Monster, and the only other person besides Kanako in existence Ceroba could’ve found out about was Asgore. And even if she didn’t hate the guy, he would certainly say no to being injected, and shanking him with a syringe while he isn’t looking would probably get Ceroba arrested even if she could manage such a thing and if the serum worked. So Chujin effectively left Ceroba with conflicting dying wishes. “Finish the serum that’ll bring about a better world for our race and daughter.” and “Don’t involve our daughter in our research so she can live a normal, and therefore happy life.”

But in all seriousness, it has been an established flaw of Ceroba’s that she has trouble acknowledging the idea that her family (especially Chujin) would ever have a bad, stupid, incorrect, or inherently flawed idea, and she has proven nearly incapable of realizing that Chujin Ketsukane might not have been anything except for a great, and perfectly competent engineer. Like, her takeaway from seeing that the man got a “You Tried in Engineering” award was “Woah, my husband got an award; that’s so cool!” She thinks the man was more of a genius than he was, and she was too desperate for everyone else to think that too what with her desire for him to have the great legacy he “deserved.” So if he says “Ceroba, finish the serum I started making and it will definitely work on a Boss Monster SOUL,” she’ll immediately think “That makes perfect sense because Chujin is very smart!” Which *is* stupid of her, don’t get me wrong, but is a great character flaw because of that. She has too much faith in her family’s ideas.
