The 124’s use the 1.4 multi air unit which is a small and solid little engine with decent reliability, and is widely available and used among multiple car brands, so it’s nice and cheap to repair and easy to get parts for in that regards if anybody was curious.
Ayyy! Thanks for featuring my 124 Spider Abarth with the Ragazzon exhaust clip and giving credit 😁 Great video, loved it! When I first got mine, I also kept hitting the center console infotainment/volume buttons lol Surprisingly shortly after I started never hitting it. And yea they definitely need an aftermarket exhaust. Unlike the 500 Abarth's, the 124 came pretty quiet from the factory. But they sound phenomenal ounce you open them up!
You’re very welcome! And thanks for sharing your amazing-sounding Abarth with everyone online! Yeah, all the little things that are quirky about it are so easy to get used to. Such a fantastic car
Japatalian Mopar baby! Love my 124! 3 year, low-ish production, branch off the beloved Miata family tree. America's best selling roadster before the Miata came out. In my opinion an instant classic
Subbed! Love your review style, you’re underrated! I have an NA Miata now but am looking to sell it as a down payment on a 124 next year. Love the honesty!
I appreciate that a ton! Totally, I love the Miata, but there’s something about the Abarth’s style and tunability that make it more appealing (imo). Thanks again for the sub!
I bought my new 2017 in August 2018 and it's my daily driver to and from work, and our toy on the weekends. Bit oif a long winter on the west (read wet) coast of British Columbia, making commutes home in the dark with semis and atmospheric rivers a bit of a drag. I chose the mid model with the Bose sound system and navigation package. The bluetooth handsfree phone feature has amazing clarity on both ends even with the roof down. The Bose sound system is my favourite part about the commute as I like loud music. I love the handling of my 124 and highly recommend picking one up.
These are wildly underrated cars. Everyone hates on them for having softer stock suspension than the stock ND Miata but... anyone buying *either* who cares about handling should throw away the stock suspension immediately so it's a moot point, and the Fiat can make, what, 210hp with a piggyback tune? Wild.
I couldn’t agree more. If you’re going for the grand touring feel, the suspension is nearly perfect. If you’re going for something sportier, upgrade it. But just with an exhaust in a tune, this thing would be fantastic. The exhaust note of these and the tunability are reasons alone to buy one over a Miata. But I actually much prefer the styling of these over Miatas.
Thanks man! Took a break for 10 months because I was helping out on CarTrek and producing Dustball Rally videos. But a new vid is dropping today in 2 minutes!!
I died laughing when you put the long hair on HAHAHAH! you two are so cute. Love the vid! I just got a Spider in the Lusso trim with the tan interior. Im obsessed with this car!
Super review, couldn't agree more with your assessment. I'm debating this or a 2003 Boxster base model. Boxster is cheaper and faster and roomier but i have a bit of a thing for the Fiat.
Thank you thank you!! The Boxster is super fun to drive, but the fiat is more fun to drive slow, because of that low end torque. With the Boxster, you’re constantly revving that thing out to squeeze power out of it. Also, I don’t find the Boxster any roomier than the Fiat. Thanks again for the comment!
@@NotSoHandyCarGuy pshaw, shucks [blush]. I'm surprised there's no torque or more space in the Boxster. I thought that or the Cayman would be a couple's roadtrip dream.
l have owned my 2017 124 Abarth for over seven years now, over 50,000 klms and zero problems. These cars are very reliable with proper servicing.

I've daily driven my '18 ever since I drove it off the lot and it's been pretty reliable. Hopefully it stays that way lol

In Europe it comes stock with the Monza exhaust.
Not sure why you don't get the same in the US cause it sounds amazing.
They brought the Monza exhaust in as standard on the Abarth trim (only) for North America, i think from 2019.
@@acchaladka it was an option that year, but not standard. My Abarth is '19 and does not have it.
@@aradiohead79 thanks for the correction my guy.
Great review man! Thank you
