One of the best opening scenes in movie history, along with others like Raging Bull and Manhattan. The beauty of the music and the cinematography contrasts with the harshness of the life of the homeless in Detroit and the grittiness of the city depicted, just as the warmth of the fire and the coldness of the winter. Fonts design are top notch.
There is something about that beat-down city at night look with a good soundtrack that hits right to your core...Taxi Driver is the one I always think of, and After Hours.... two Scorsese classics
Usually endings like this are sappy and leave me feeling empty. The ending of True Romance leaves me in tears but also filled with this surge of hope. This is what critics mean when they talk about powerful filmmaking
Oh I don’t think they meant it in a bad way. Just that the characters that the movie centered on are “low life” types. Most romance movies are like rich families in nice houses. These guys are from Detroit.
I fell in love with this movie the first time I seen it and it's been one of my favorites since. I fell in love with Hans Zimmer's song too...I want to walk down the isle one day to it and say to my soon to be husband, "You're so cool."
This movie is just perfect. There's no other way to say it. The cinematography was just breath taking its just perfect. The fight scene with James Gandolfini was, for me, one of the most intense fight scenes I have ever seen on film. If there was a word other than perfect to describe this movie it would be visceral. This movie simply grabbed you by the balls and didn't let go ❤❤❤

In my opinion, this is Tarantino's best script. And the cast is simply beyond belief.
This is Tarantino restrained by reality.
