I have literally watched, or played this movie in the background while I was doing other things, close to 500 times since it was released. I am scared that the Prequel coming out soon may not be as good, but the original and I are old and familiar friends.

I don't consider many movies perfect, but this is one of the few movies I actually consider perfect. It was the first movie I saw in theaters that not only left me speechless but it was the first that had me crying my eyes out.
I think it is because we are all gladiators. We are bound to this world, and grow old and tired from fighting many battles throughout our lives. Bodily death is just a welcome release from our chains. A beautiful hope of Paradise, and a wonderful promise from God. We may close our eyes in a final rest from this life... but we will open them again in the glorious next. Never fear Death. He has no hold on Life.
I lost a friend to depression. Her name was Anna, and she passed away on February 10, 2023. She was an angel in the lives of many. We lived in difficult times at the university since a girl was brutally murdered inside the university, and we were all quite shaken by it, including Anna, she decided to wrote a poem in honor of her and asked me to help her paste it all over the university, it was her last wish, she took her own life, I couldn't save her. Anna and I wanted to be teachers in the future, and we always talked about working together one day. But I honored her wish with dedication and love, and while I was pasting the poems all over the university, I played this song for some reason. Anna will always be my inexhaustible source of inspiration. All the classes I give will be for her, she will always be the angel of my profession, and she will always be with me. Gladiator 2 is coming out on Nov 22, 2024. There is NO way it will even compare/come close to being as good as the original......but of course I am going to see it. Gladiator is one of my all time favorite movies and a movie that good should NOT have a sequel....especially since the main characters in the original died.

One of the best movies ever...simply a perfect film. It talks about heroism, pride, self-love, honor, courage, friendship, sacrifice. General Comodus, the "Spanish"...he went straight to Heaven!
