Poor Charlie. Poor momma. I feel bad for you both. God love us, we screw up sometimes. Give yourself grace. You took good care of him, got him to the vet and lots of extra lovins!
Thank you for your touching & insightful video. I hope you all don’t mind me sharing my story~ if so, delete or just scroll on by. I went through a ‘resilience transition’ 2 years ago when I was 73. I had fallen and broken my arm badly and had surgery and a long recovery. That was the first bone I’d ever broken in my life and now I had so much attention on my body for so long after that & felt so afraid of falling again and became quite introverted. Then finally one beautiful day~ all crisp, clean & clear with blue skies & white clouds after a rain, I took the dog out and as I walked around I noticed so many beautiful things and began to feel more extroverted. I’ve always really related to nature & after being so home-bound it felt great! I took out my phone and began taking pictures of things in nature and in the garden like I used to before the accident. I loved seeing raindrops on the plants and took lots of close-ups of that and all I could think was… cleansing, renewal, nourishment, health, growth and beauty! After just a couple days of rain the green was returning to the hills around us! And I thought nature is so resilient! Things die off and come back in the spring and look at how things grow just after a rain. "We are resilient just like nature~" I felt a sense of renewal, hope & optimism and knew that I 'was' resilient like nature and that my body would heal. Then I saw this quote: “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” Like you, we planted a garden every year, but I hadn’t thought of it this way before. I started looking up more quotes about resilience and these resonated with me: “Do not judge me by my success, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.” ― Nelson Mandela “I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.” ― Maya Angelou “Rock bottom became the solid foundation in which I rebuilt my life.” ― J.K. Rowling “Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up to Me” - by Richard Fariña from the 60’s Like nature, I think we are all resilient… sometimes we just need to be reminded…
Thank you for sharing that! When we really stop to see our world, our surroundings, we realize how rich and fortunate we truly are even... without the monetary backing!!!
Oh thank you! I needed this today! I am a 65 year old living alone in far PNW. I love the beauty up here but it is now in our rainy, cold season and I sit wayyyyy too much. I haven't owned a treadmill in 30 years but saw yours and was 'THAT's what I need!' I got mine even cheaper on Amazon. I also am trying your lemon drink and restarting meditation. I have loved CALM in the past. You are an inspiring young woman and I love your little dog! BTW, in my life resiliency is definitely learned through life's struggles. You will get more confident every year, more at peace and more adventurous.
I think you’ll be very happy with the results of the L-Reuteri on your gut biome. I had dental implants that required a bone graft and I did all this in stages over a year so I ended up with three rounds of antibiotics in that year. My entire system went haywire. Long story short, I made yogurt with L-Reuteri and inulin and, not to be overly dramatic😂it really did change my life in so many ways. It doesn’t happen overnight, you’ll start seeing gradual changes. The first thing I noticed was bowel changes, you’ll become very regular! My hair, skin and nails…. But the ceasing of panic attacks is something I did not expect, but was so grateful for. I’d had a sudden onset of panic attacks about 10 yrs ago, just out of the blue, no apparent reason, it was really hard to deal with, I was always the rock of my family and suddenly I had these paralyzing panic attacks. I hate pharmaceuticals so I tried everything natural. Meditation and breath work saved my sanity, but I truly believe getting my gut healthy, especially the addition of L-Reuteri is what finally stopped the panic attacks. I made it through COVID, the death of my father in law, the death of my mother, and my husband’s prostate cancer without a panic attack, I never could have done that before. The L-Reuteri really seems to calm the system. I hope you have good luck with it too. Keep us updated please. Hugs, Jessie ❤
May I recommend several slices of fresh ginger steeped for 10 minutes with your lemon and a little honey. Ginger is an excellent anti inflammatory and honey has antibiotic properties. It is yummy and so good for you.
I really look forward to your videos. I was so glad you came back on this week.! You help this single woman be inspired by how you look at life, your walks 9:38 in beautiful nature, or your indoor cozy living. Cooking, baking, reading , crafting, exercising are motivational for me to do the same. Thank you .
Don’t feel bad. I made my dog fat cuz if momma has a donut baby gets some donut, momma has a strawberry sundae baby gets some. Momma liked lots of sweets. My dog is only 10 lbs. so over a year ago we gave up all those DAILY sweets. It wasn’t good for either of us. Love your goals. And your videos. Smooches to Charlie.
Awwwww ... you know, we're all trying! We just love our babies and want them happy. Good for you (and your pup!) for giving up the sweets!!!!! Hope you guys have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
I understand your sensitivity to chemical smells. I always have to hold my breath when walking down the grocery aisle with detergents, air fresheners, and candles. I have a problem with some candles and perfumes. Glad I'm not alone! Poor Charlie! When I was a kid back in the 1960s, we fed our dogs everything from chocolate to grapes. They luckily lived to ripe old ages. I'm amazed at the things dogs can't eat today. We didn't know any better back then!
Oh I totally understand the intolerance to chemical smells! There are fragrances that once entered into my nostrils burn my nose, sinus, eyes and make me vomit, within minutes. I have been sick for about 36 hours and missed work. Some people don't understand and say, "it's not that bad." I don't even respond to that comment. They just don't get it. I do what I need to do to protect myself. Much love to you and Charlie ❤
I find that during the shorter days I love to redecorate, paint on canvas, and be more mindful. Charlie will be OK. We all make mistakes. I love the bangs! Hugs to the both of you and have a wonderful weekend!❤
I have to avoid the detergent and fabric softener aisle at the grocery store...gives me a headache...and even strong detergent smells on people's clothing is bothersome. Plug-ins are also too much. I had a dog who would eat anything...one time a chamois, and another time antibiotic pills intended for her mom...the whole bottle! We had to give her bread with hydrogen peroxide on it to induce vomiting. If that ever happens again and you can't get a hold of your vet, that's the solution. I'm wanting to "nest" for the winter, also...I understand. I usually have a lapful of cat, which really discourages getting busy! Thank you for your serene, peaceful glimpses into your life.😊
A lapful of cat : ) I love that description! And yes ... that aisle is ROUGH in the store! I can't go down it either! Hope you have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
@@elizabethwidlund3859 I used to have four kitties and two chihuahuas. Hubby had the chis on his lap and I enjoyed just what you so aptly described as a lapful of cat. Smiling here in North GA…
I started walking 30 minutes a day over 6 months ago & I am now up to 6-8 miles a day. If I can’t walk outside, I do laps around the floor of my apartment building. I have looked at walking pads like the one you got & will probably get one at the first of the year. I also meditate every day, morning & night. It’s an integral part of my self-care routine! Charlie is so sweet. It’s obvious how much you love him! I’m glad he’s feeling better!! 🐾🐾🐾
It’s impressive that you were brave enough to undertake this transition and bring your pup. You are such an adventurous women. You truly find beauty and joy in the simple things. I love your attitude and your sweet puppy/dog!
I would describe myself as a highly resilient person, like I can come back from very challenging things and be okay, but I did have an extremely traumatic childhood where I had to deal with chronic stress. So I am happy I am very resilient but it's honestly for quite sad reasons. Felt like sharing that ❤❤❤
I'm so sorry Charlie that weren't feeling well. I have cat and when she doesn't feel well it makes me cry and I lay on the bed and cuddle with my sweet Calli. Charlie, I hope you continue to feel better. PS: I love your Mama's channel!
Just recently tuned in.... LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel! Your narrative, footage of landscapes, travels and uses for thrifted items and especially your gardening skills 🪴 There are a majority of us living single and frugally. Please give more ideas to thrift and how to turn old to new. I think I saw a video where you took an old find and spruced it up. Also more self care suggestions. THANK YOU for sharing your life journey with us. GOD BLESS YOU AND CHARLIE ALWAYS. 🙏
You could also try rearranging your furniture. A change in your environment can also help your mindset, even rearranging pictures on the wall. I liked the old arrangement you had where the sofa divided the kitchen and living room.
I'm really glad you'd talked about your chemical sensitivity. I feel less alone because it's so annoying to deal with. I love your vulnerability and your authenticity. It's refreshing.
I got a a rebounder during the pandemic and really enjoyed it. It is a habit I need to get back. Jumping on a trampoline is supposed to be beneficial to the lymphatic system, but you likely already know that. I always enjoy your videos. They're so relaxing with your beautiful photography, mellow music, and soothing voice. Thank you for sharing.
Lyme is kept at bay but never removed from our system. I’ve had it three times, each time different symptoms! Lyme is horrible but loving to garden in the Northwoods in Wisconsin it is unavoidable. I too make my own yogurt with live cultures from Martin, shipped on dry ice. Been doing so for a long time. Keeps the stool soft and helps keep my gut regulated. Keep up the good work! Krystyna in Wisconsin
I love your daily list! I make one myself, and in addition to including exercise (which I really don't like, but acknowedge is so beneficial), I have 1) Do something fun 2) Do something kind for someone else 3) Do something productive, preferably first thing in the morning so it sets you off on a good path right away. And productive can mean a huge project, like painting a room, or a small one, like writing an overdue letter to a friend, cleaning out a drawer, or trying a new recipe you've been hanging on to for months.
I remember snow squalls when we lived in Michigan. I’m originally from Arkansas, so they’re definitely not something that I was used to. I loved them when we didn’t have any reason to leave the house. I’m sure that was really scary about Charlie! We’re without a dog for the first time in our marriage. Our last dog, our 15+ year old, rescued miniature schnauzer had to be put to sleep four weeks ago. I want another dog so bad because they’re such a companion for me, but I promised my husband that I wouldn’t get another one for a while. I’m disabled, and he winds up doing all the care, so he needed a bit of a break. Thank you for sharing all your tips for how you plan to have the healthiest winter possible. 😊❤
Kate, your filmmaking skills just keep getting better and better. You are not the only one having trouble finding the fine line between winter cozy and winter lazy :) Goal #10: Bring your 'real' camera with you everywhere! Health-full blessings to both you and Charlie!
Love that your list has energized you, but in a restful way. Poor little Charlie will be good as new in no time; dogs can sense how we are feeling, so he knows that mommy didn’t mean to hurt him! Hugs to both of you…❤
For me, outdoors is the answer. If I didn't have my daily dose of hiking, walking, etc I'd probably go nuts. The only thing that keeps me inside is lightning. Cold weather exercise is so healthy so good for you for getting outside!!!
Hi Kate. The other day when I was making oatmeal chocolate chip cookies I thought of you! Funny how the essence of you comes through your videos to the point where it feels like I know you….a kindred spirit for sure. While I was watching you today, my cat Daisy came up and I told her little Charlie was feeling poorly and she had a very sympathetic look on her face. Have a wonderful weekend Kate.💕Love Angie.
That is a great idea - to set some healthy habits for winter. While watching your video, I ordered some Plantain chips and some of that soda you like. I have never tried them and I love to eat healthy. I have some health challenges in the last few months, so I am really making changes. Also - glad to see Charlie is feeling better.
Yikes! I hope Charlie is feeling better by now! He's such a little sweetie..:) I also hope you're doing ok..it's so stressful when our little furry buddies aren't feeling well. I love the idea of coming up with some new things to do during these colder months. One thing I really want to do is get back into drawing and learning watercolor. I actually went to the Art Academy here in Cincinnati and I just need to get back into it. I plan to set aside at least twenty minutes a day to doodle and see where it goes. Have a great weekend! Sending you and Charlie tons of hugs.
❤️ To you & Charlie! I had no idea onions were bad for dogs! 😬😳 So thank you for sharing this & giant hugs to you both. & yay for fellow walking pad peep! We just had a guest for two weeks & now I need to collect myself together: clean house & work on projects… but this video makes me think establishing better habits is a great idea! And - I find with myself that I often think/feel I could be or should be x, y or z … and yet focussing on our imperfections can make us feel worse & is there really a perfect routine or maybe more something seasonal, like you are doing? I have to aim for a balance because I can be hard on myself for not being x y or z…. and what was interesting is that, I found myself thinking that you are too so resilient! I mean, look at how you put yourself on RUclips & all the things you tackle and the challenges you cope with… I was thinking that maybe you don’t give yourself enough credit? I mean, I don’t know you so I can only mirror what I see from your videos & I know I myself have things I would like to improve… but I think, sometimes, well lately I have been thinking the Art of Life is learning to ride the waves Life sends,… deal with the curveballs with grace & maybe it isn’t perfect… but I think this helps me be more roly-poly and easy-going with life a bit? Like, learning to just keep getting up, stay in the game… pick the cliché that rings most true… but just not giving up & keeping on keeping on is in itself a kind of gentle resilience. And you DO that. You inspire ME in this! Small steps every day, looking for the beauty… I love this about your channel & life. It is a reminder to slow down, smell the roses along the way & enjoy what is beautiful in our every day… that is your strength & resilience in my eyes. If that makes sense?? Of course, we may want to improve, that it come more naturally or with less worry/fear and these are things I work on…. but well… imho I think you are resilient & strong! You are self-employed in a 9-5 world so that alone is huge kudos to you… I admire that & maybe even envy it a little? So…. just me wanting to cheer you on( & myself?) 🥰
Oh my heart, that duck parade! You capture such wonderful scenes! To remove that Goodwill stank more quickly, I soak everything in warm water with a lot of distilled vinegar for at least 24 hours. Then I run it through the wash with a big cup of washing soda in addition to liquid laundry detergent and give it two rinses. Sometimes I have to wash the clothes twice, depending on how heavily they were sprayed.
It’s so lovely up by you. Hang some twinkle lights to cheer up the early darkness. ❄️ My mom & brother were up in Rhinebeck this past weekend. Decked out for Christmas 🎄🎅Enjoy your hikes
I love ur videos so much. They are so comforting to watch. I'm bipolar and suffer deeply with depression. So ur videos help me at times. U have such a calming voice. U truly are a beautiful soul. Ur cottage is so beautiful and cozy. I just love it. Charlie is so adorable... just like my Rocky. I bought my Rocky a tortilla blanket for Christmas off of Amazon. As my baby boy loves his blankets. I hope that u and Charlie have an amazing blessed Christmas 🎄
I'm going to be 60 in a few months. When I was young, we'd get/keep stray dogs (only 1 or 2 at a time). They always got table scraps that we didn't pay attention to what was in them and I don't think any of them had any ill effects. All of your videography is beautiful and calming. That blue sky at the end with the fairy lights . . . Thank you so much!
Excellent goals! On the video at the point where you said: the next day, Charlie looked 100% Yoda! And I love Yoda!! Poor Charlie - we try and be kind and then it backfires. But.. now you know! It's a bit grey here in Cyprus today - loving it!
I feel like setting the goal "I want to be more resilient" made the universe throw some challenges at you to allow you to practice 🤔. (I hope that little Charlie feels better now...) Your determination to make small daily practices is very inspiring to me 🤗
Hi from soggy Shropshire UK where Storm Darragh is currently whipping 90 mph winds across the country, complete with torrential rain. Your hibernation with soup on the sofa sounds pretty blissful at the moment. I find this kind of weather definitely appeals to the introspective me who really just wants to hibernate. Thanks for sharing your goals. X
I’m glad you are taking a well deserved break, but I will miss your videos until they come back! Something you said really resonated with me, gratitude is a feeling we “choose” to have. We can train ourselves to be more grateful. It’s also inspiring how you love nature. And how much you love to go thrift shopping! 😂 If you lived closer I would volunteer to go with you. Have a wonderful Christmas season. 🎄
I am like, with regard to food for Charlie, with my rescue greyhound Madge. I am so careful what I give her to eat, but occasionally I have given her something, then looked it up to find it is not good for her, so have been on the telephone to the vet, really panicking, thinking how stupid I am, not to have checked first. I hope that Charlie is fully recovered now, and know that you only want the best for him, because you love him with all your heart, and he loves you back. We had snow for one day in November, here in West Devon, England, and it was magical. Our Ukrainian girls, who are my neighbors, built a snowman, and it filled my heart with joy. I too have a little trampoline like yous, tucked away in my storage room - I have never used it, but I need to get it out and do so! I do walk Madge 4/5 times a day though, so am so grateful to her that she gets me out in nature, and the fresh air every day, come rain or shine, snow or whatever the British weather throws at us! Blessings to you, and Happy Christmas, from a very windy (we have a big storm passing through the West Country, here in England, at the moment) West Devon, England, and Jilly & Madge. xxx
Even the best dog food is not very good, so I supplement my dog's food with eggs (raw, scrambled, hard boiled), liver, sardines in water, ground beef, cooked chicken, cheese, milk, etc. Never bread or anything made of flour though (not good for teeth). My Yorkie is very happy. We did that for our Chow Chow and he lived to be 16 and 1/3 years old (life expectancy 8 to 12 years). Plus it makes life so much better for them to experience the taste of what they smell. Glad you're doing that for Charlie.
It's true ... it's crazy hard and overwhelming trying to figure out the dog foods out there. I've been enjoying supplementing with good stuff, like you mentioned. I didn't know flour was bad for the teeth .... that's interesting. Thanks for sharing!!!! Hope you have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
I love that you have set some goals for yourself. I am going through a difficult time with these days of darkness moving in earlier and earlier. Once I start turning on the lights, I feel I should be heading to bed because my eyes don't want to stay open. I don't like cold weather, even though I live in Canada. It seems like Summer is so far back and we have to look ahead, through five long months of winter. What a drag! I have been putting off things to do and that is getting me down. I loved waking up early, get out on my deck, drink my coffee and listen to the birds, before anyone else. Going for a walk was enjoyable but, the thought of boots, winter coat, etc., it doesn't take much to say, "not today"! The Yogurt smoothie looked delicious. It is probably something my Crogn's could tolerate. Thanks for spending time with us. I hope Charlie feels better, soon. Tell him, Rudy is hoping he feels better, too. Stay well, be happy❤
So proud of you. Good work. Injustice started a morning meditation and gratitude journal. I’m planning on sticking with it this time. Exercise is the thing that I let go a lot.
Aww poor Charlie, me and the pups send love and healing vibes to you. Kate I have done that a couple of times myself to Zoey over the last six years too. I just bought one of those lymphatic machines. I have to be careful of my balance so I sit and put my feet on it then put a chair next to it so I can stand on it, I will let you know how it goes! Ever since have retired I have been so bad about being motivated but I promised myself I would add a couple things each week! I am like you with the days being so short it is hard not to go to bed early and give in to winter. The lights loo ll do pretty outside! I hope Charlie is better now, enjoy your weekend ❤🐶🍁
I love the goals you set for yourself. So important to care for yourself without guilt. You motivated me to get on my rebounder and total gym today. I always feel so much better when I do. Glad Charlie is feeling better. Have a great week.
Thank you for another wonderful video. The effort you put into them is greatly appreciated by many. I'm already looking forward to the next one!!! :) P.S. Don't beat yourself up over the onion mishap, your intentions were filled with love. Your little Charlie knows you're the best mama for him! Hugs to you , both!
We got just over 10" of snow the day after Thanksgiving. We were under a Winter Storm Warning yesterday, but the storm shifted and we only got another inch or so (Thank God!) I'm going to be cozy by crocheting a new afghan this winter! I'm also starting to read the Bible-In-A-Year. I have a rebounder that I actually need to get off the wall in my garage and start using it! A half hour walk everyday would be helpful too! Thanks for the inspiriation! PS: I also gave up coffee because it was really upsetting my stomach. I do have a couple of coffee substitutes that aren't too bad (Postum & Pero) because I can't give up having a tasty warm drink - especially in the winter!
It's a gorgeous day today where I am. As soon as you talked about challenging yourself to get outside, I stopped and did exactly that at a nearby metropark. My hips really needed it! Found some fun fungi as I was walking that I now have to look up. It was so good to have the sun on my face and light breeze. It was 54 when I left to go out. I thought it was supposed to be in the low 40s. So glad I went out. Nature is truly magical! Thank you for sharing!
Hello kate lovely video l absolutely loooooved it,So beautiful the snow ❄ watching it fall on you looked so beautiful wish it snowed here,l too have made a list of what l need to do this summer 😮Hope dear Charlie is all well now,Have a wonderful week always Kate an Charlie stay well an warm😊❤❤
You always seem to do really good things to make you feel better both physically and mentally!! You seem very disciplined!! Hope Charlie feels better!!🤗
I am so envious right now watching the snow in your video. It is currently morning and 105 degrees here where i live and getting warmer by the hour. 😣🥵
Ah, Charlie under all his blankets is adorable! My husband and I are also incredibly sensitive/revolted by artificial chemicals in laundry detergent and dryer sheets. We haven't gone in a year, but soon we will have to bite the bullet and wash all our towels and blankets. I love your nine goals! They definitely inspire me!
I agree we can all get cozy on the couch.. I too decided it was too much, so ,I pick 2 nights during the week and one on the weekend to do that.. I do other things the rest of the time but I also think its good to rest and enjoy a program occasionally.. You are doing a fantastic job..
Thanks for the encouragement to set goals. Loved the snow. Sorry about Charlie. Glad he’s ok. I’m interested in reading about that yogurt. I have a walking pad. It’s helpful. I need to use it more too.
ahhh thank god for your videos!! they're like therapy to me! I was feeling a bit blue so when your video popped up on my feed, I took it as a sign! and after watching it I feel much better now! thanks soooo much for sharing pieces of your life with us, your videos are like warm hugs
I purchased a small (looks just like yours) walking mat almost a year ago and I love it! I love your nine intentions Kate…hug Charlie for me….patti. 🌷🌿🐶
I'm sorry Charlie went through that. My Labrador ate a whole bag of Hershey's miniatures but I didn't know until I saw foil in his poop and wondered what he had gotten into. I went into the den and saw the candy dish was empty. He never got sick, thankfully. Anyhow, you mentioned thinking and driving... I do my best thinking while I'm driving too, that's one reason why I became a truck driver. Plus, I love to drive. I am hoping one day to dictate enough material to write a book. I love watching your channel. Thanks for sharing your day to day 😊
You're such a delight to watch! I don't always comment, but I never miss one of your videos. Please tell me more about your treadmill! I've been looking at them for a while now but I live in an apartment and I'm afraid it might be too noisy for the neighbors, especially the ones that live below me.
I keep books in my car. I call it my Mobil Book Nook. I am so glad to see that I am not the only one who writes in my books!!! I use my cubii each day. I understand about the scents and there effects...They make me so sick too! Take care of Yourself and Charlie!!
They say the first batch of L. Reuteri won't be spectacular, but the second batch is right on point. We just ordered a yogurt maker and can't wait to get started!
Aah poor Charlie...but it happens. My little dog got into gum i left out and i panicked. Luckily he was ok. Don't be too hard on yourself; we are all human and imperfect. When i lived with no laundry in my place, I bought a portable washer/spin dryer and hung my clothes to dry. Worked great....the spin dryer was amazing! Got my clothes 90% dry, so they'd be dry after hanging in a few hours with a fan blowing on them. I also hated going to the laundry mat.
Here's an idea... Make yourself a sitting matt that has a sewn-on handle that slips onto your arm to carry with you when you walk in the woods, or a park, and you want to sit down. Use oil cloth for the outside. It can easily be wiped off. You can use any padding or layers of newspaper for the inside of your sitting pad. It surely beats sitting on the cold ground, especially if damp.
I drink the Twinings Lemon and Ginger tea. So good. I also take CoQ10 with the tea which is good for mitochondria. It also seems to give me a boost in the mornings.
Your 9 goals are great reminders for me! I will have to try hot lemon water again. I admire your focus on your healthy habits. The shot of the line of ducks was wonderful. It is not something I am going to get to see here in So CA, so thanks! 🥰
I am totally just like that girl. I love Cozy Winter time. I try to make sure I have all my appointments over with so i don't leave the house unless i want to. I would totally need a rail to grab, or I would fall off that walking pad Lol. I'm glad little Charlie feels some better. The snow is so beautiful. Loves & Hugs to you and Charlie
I thought of you as it seemed a little while since your last video. Wishing you well for the darker days, its not always easy is it. I just had a nice trip to Poland for the Christmas markets xx hope little Charlie is back to himself
Please don't be too hard on yourself about Charlie! ❤ You are such a good dog mom. Even the best of parents slip up once in a while. I'm glad he is doing better. Please give him a big kiss from me! And I am sending you hugs and love from Montana. I hope you can feel it. ❤❤❤
Thank you Kate for your lovely video. As usual some gorgeous filming and shots. 🤗 I like how you have set out some realistic habits/goals. Mine are very similar actually! Walking is very important to me, if I can't get out I do a Leslie Sansone walking work out, they're on You Tube. I have learnt that in order to be consistent my goals have to be achievable. I had to chuckle when you mentioned about obsessions, I am very prone to that! Mine's squirty cream, on my coffees and hot chocs at the moment ! 🤣 Sending lots of love to you and Charlie xxx🥰 💕❤️
I hope as I write this that little Charlie is much better 🥰. Thank you again for a wonderful video. The snow looked gorgeous and the resilience book looks very interesting. I’m going to look into this too. I’m in 🇬🇧 UK so hope I can get a copy 🩷🩷🩷
2:08 Have you thought of adding some marigold seeds that you've collected to the mailers? That would be a fun treat. I know if I could afford it (I'm disabled), I would be so happy to have them added, and you mentioned you get a good harvest of them. Thank you for taking us out in nature with you. It's so lovely. You are absolutely resilient, I see it in real time through your vlogs. Charlie is such a good boy🐾 You are so incredibly inspiring, thank you for these Vlogs. 🫶🧶
I actually put some in this time around!!!!!! I love sharing the seeds with people : ) Thank you so much for being here with me : ) I really appreciate it and hope you have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
Try adding 2 tablespoons of finished (runny) yogurt into next batch instead of dry/powder (in capsules) MyReuteri (from oxiceutics). I’ve only needed Reuteri powder for 1 batch. My first batch was runny. Now every batch looks like yogurt. (There will be some liquid (whey) in every batch. I eat 1/4 cup of yogurt with sliced bananas, salt, blueberries with a bit of maple syrup. Really delicious! I share the extra capsules with friends and family! Back to pasta that Charlie ate…I understand flour/in pasta and bread will cause bloating in dogs. As an owner of Pet Sitting business, I have learned loads. My pets eat raw food from Darwin’s…you would be appalled to learn how any dry food/kibble is made. Everything nutritious is killed in high-heat manufacturing process and synthetic “nutrients” are added back in. Packaging is geared to show happy, healthy dogs and cats. Rancid dry food isn’t a healthy option for healthy pets.
Good to see Charlie’s making a full recovery 😘🐶……and to see 📖👀. You’re a true example. Question: have you thought of adding any and all links you have to other sites/social media to your RUclips description Tag?…. It’s just a handy and the natural place to go to find patreon, etc.
Another lovely vlog. Your photography is amazing. I have been walking every day for the past year & a half. Forty to sixty minutes, it has helped reduce stress and I've gone down a jean size. I have asthma and osteoporosis. I feel so much better. You are so very smart taking care of your health! I'm going to steal a few of your ideas! Your little dog is so precious, hope he is much better! Always enjoy your videos Kate, you have a beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing much joy with your veiwers!!! You do inspire us to enjoy every day, to see the beauty that surronds us! Sending much Love & Peace to you, Gail. 🌹🥀🌹🥀🌹🥀🌹🥀
Decorated for Christmas just before thanksgiving. Good for you ..doing the exercise. I am just 76& lazy..no excuses.Aww ,poor Charlie,he is so dang cute.Alot of people had lake effect snow..ALOT OF FEET AROUND FINGERLAKES.😅
It has been very cold in the south, have gotten any snow ❄️ prayers to you , if I hope Charlie's “buddy” is feeling better! Hope the yogurt doing great! Much love 🩵to you too!! My chic puppy snuggle down they love my heating blanket all 4! Have wonderful December maybe we lucky seeing how you Deco for Christmas!!
Hi Kate! You look like a pretty snow fairy in the opening of your video. Ah, little Charley will be ok in no time....he IS resilient....our pets can teach us some things... and that is forgiveness and resilience. Charley feels your love and kindness. Your list of nine health habits is so timely and right on target! I usually make my New Year list of this sort of mindset and really try to stick to it. At least I try! It gives a sense of control and my best attempt to being healthy both physically and emotionally. Yes, I agree that resilience to a large degree is learned. We are all so different and the 'treadmill of life' can throw us some curves....but we don't fall off...AND....even if we do!!!....we get right back on...because we are LEARNING resilience! Among my New Year's objectives is to get moving more...that is walking, and cooking good healthy meals....soups and stews, etc. Yes, reading good material and learning to be selective in my commitments and able to say "No'" when I need some down time. Self care is NOT selfish...it is care of the only body you'll ever get and being your own best friend..... Without energy or resilience we are an empty cup...and an empty cup cannot be shared. Yes, the days certainly grow shorter through December....but can you actually realize that from December 21st...The shortest day of the year....we begin to once again have minute by minute more sunlight. It is not noticeable actually until late January, but it is actual. The earth is our teacher....time for rest and renewal...and then the cycle continues. Just like the earth needs to rest and sleep and regenerate, so do we. Time for my lemon tea. Hugs from a nana in Pa.
Winter is my best time of the year the cold crispy days and nights cooking good soups baking sourdough breads and loving life to the fullest every moment😊 thank u for sharing i totally can relate
Poor Charlie. Poor momma. I feel bad for you both. God love us, we screw up sometimes. Give yourself grace. You took good care of him, got him to the vet and lots of extra lovins!
Thank you : ) Ugh, yes, we do mess up sometimes : ( ❤❤❤❤❤❤
"We are resilient just like nature~"
I felt a sense of renewal, hope & optimism and knew that I 'was' resilient like nature and that my body would heal.
Then I saw this quote:
“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” Like you, we planted a garden every year, but I hadn’t thought of it this way before.
I started looking up more quotes about resilience and these resonated with me:
“Do not judge me by my success, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.”
― Nelson Mandela
“I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.”
― Maya Angelou
“Rock bottom became the solid foundation in which I rebuilt my life.”
― J.K. Rowling
“Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up to Me”
- by Richard Fariña from the 60’s
Like nature, I think we are all resilient… sometimes we just need to be reminded…
Thank you for sharing that! When we really stop to see our world, our surroundings, we realize how rich and fortunate we truly are even... without the monetary backing!!!
How lovely x
Oooh ... yes! That sounds amazing! Thank you : ) ❤❤❤
I really look forward to your videos. I was so glad you came back on this week.! You help this single woman be inspired by how you look at life, your walks 9:38 in beautiful nature, or your indoor cozy living. Cooking, baking, reading , crafting, exercising are motivational for me to do the same. Thank you .
I'm so glad you enjoy the videos : ) That makes me really happy!!!! I hope you have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
You have a lovely weekend too!!!!❤😊@littlebohocottage
3 feet of snow here in northeast Ohio, and recovering from pnemonia...this video brought me some much needed warmth and peace. Thank you. 😊
Aw no! Feel better soon, my friend!❤❤❤
Hi from me in the Cotswolds, UK 🇬🇧 Kate with my 4 Chihuahuas. We send our love to you and Charlie. It's very cold here xxx❤
Hello to you and the gang : ) :) Stay warm! ❤❤❤
Thank you Sweetheart. Doing our best. They are all burrowed in bed with me as Storm Darragh is raging outside. We love you guys. Sarah & Co. XxxxX
Love your channel! So inspiring- and love your Charlie!!
Thank you : ) And thanks for sharing your winter go tos! ❤❤❤
@@elizabethwidlund3859
I used to have four kitties and two chihuahuas.
Aw, thank you so much! I appreciate it : ) ❤❤❤
I would describe myself as a highly resilient person, like I can come back from very challenging things and be okay, but I did have an extremely traumatic childhood where I had to deal with chronic stress. So I am happy I am very resilient but it's honestly for quite sad reasons. Felt like sharing that ❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing : ) ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm so sorry Charlie that weren't feeling well. I have cat and when she doesn't feel well it makes me cry and I lay on the bed and cuddle with my sweet Calli. Charlie, I hope you continue to feel better. PS: I love your Mama's channel!
I think resilience is good but the ability to 'crumble' is a life saver and is underated, it takes emotional strength. Enjoying your vlogs xxx
Just recently tuned in....
LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel!
Your narrative, footage of landscapes, travels and uses for thrifted items and especially your gardening skills 🪴
There are a majority of us living single and frugally. Please give more ideas to thrift and how to turn old to new.
I think I saw a video where you took an old find and spruced it up.
Also more self care suggestions.
THANK YOU for sharing your life journey with us.
GOD BLESS YOU AND CHARLIE ALWAYS. 🙏
Yes, the snow is beautiful. We should embrace the winter and respect its message…everyone be still and find peace in the quiet beauty. ❄️
You could also try rearranging your furniture. A change in your environment can also help your mindset, even rearranging pictures on the wall. I liked the old arrangement you had where the sofa divided the kitchen and living room.
Waiting to see how you will decorate your pretty cottage for Christmas....You must hang a little stocking for Charley!
I'm really glad you'd talked about your chemical sensitivity. I feel less alone because it's so annoying to deal with. I love your vulnerability and your authenticity. It's refreshing.
Momma didn’t mean too … ❤️❤️ Your vlogs are so calming! Take care and keep warm! 🎄☃️🎄
Thank you : ) And yes ... they're awesome! We'll both work on that habit! Have a great weekend!❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing about your yogurt! I'm loving learning more about it and all the benefits! : ) ❤❤❤
I understand EXACTLY what you’re saying, I too suffer from Chronic Lyme.
Hugs to both of you…❤
Thank you : ) I probably made it worse for him with all my stress! Big hugs back ... have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
For me, outdoors is the answer. If I didn't have my daily dose of hiking, walking, etc I'd probably go nuts. The only thing that keeps me inside is lightning. Cold weather exercise is so healthy so good for you for getting outside!!!
Yes! It's such a mood booster! I'm so looking forward to the days getting longer again to get back outside more : ) Have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
Awwwwww ... give Daisy a big hug for Charlie and I : ) And enjoy those cookies!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Poor Charlie. Hope he is feeling better. Keep Warm. Love Charlene & Chihuahua Luna 🐾
Thank you, Charlene and Luna : ) : ) ❤❤❤
You are not lazy everyone needs a hibernation period Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
I need to set some goals! I randomly say “I need to …” but I need to actually write them down and stay focused.
I feel like setting the goal "I want to be more resilient" made the universe throw some challenges at you to allow you to practice 🤔.
(I hope that little Charlie feels better now...)
Your determination to make small daily practices is very inspiring to me 🤗
Haha ... you're right!!!! And thank you ... he's feeling much better now : ) Have a great weekend!❤❤❤
Blessings to you, and Happy Christmas, from a very windy (we have a big storm passing through the West Country, here in England, at the moment) West Devon, England, and Jilly & Madge. xxx
Poor little guy. Tummy aches are no fun. Sending hugs to Charlie.
Ugh, they're so not : ( Thank you!❤❤❤
Even the best dog food is not very good, so I supplement my dog's food with eggs (raw, scrambled, hard boiled), liver, sardines in water, ground beef, cooked chicken, cheese, milk, etc.
Oh man, it's so easy to lose motivation in the winter! I hope your machine brings you lots of benefits : ) And I hope you have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
My Bible reading is truly the bread of life for my soul! He is faithful and His Word is true!
The bears have the right idea about winter. I'm glad Charlie is ok. No more onions mama!
Ugh, it's the worst : ( Hope you find a spot that works for you guys! Have a great weekend!❤❤❤
Good Saturday 🌅☕ morning, great video and I like the 💡 idea of your goals🎉🎉and you may come up with number 10.🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for sharing your day to day 😊
Love your vlog, your food, your voice, you! Very sweet and calming.
Oh...the snow ❄️. How beautiful. Love your list of things. Will be trying. Also, that walker is amazing. Might have to get me one.
I think I will steal your healthy habits..thanks for doing all the work figuring them out..I've been too lazy lately to figure out my own..😊
Enjoy : ) Ha, that winter laziness is NO joke! Have a great weekend (lazy or not ;))!❤❤❤
Aah poor Charlie...but it happens.
Thank you : ) I appreciate the encouragement : ) Hope you have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
Charlie is so adorable. I see you already have snow. No snow in Jersey where I am at. I hope all is well with you. stay healthy...much love...MINDY
Thank you, Mindy!!!!!!!! I hope you get some snow this winter : ) have a wonderful weekend!❤❤❤
Charlie is adorable! I’m so glad he is ok!
I wish you a blessed Christmas as well as a very healthy ( physically and mentally) 2025. May it be the best ever! Krystyna in Wisconsin
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope 2025 is amazing for you, too, Krystyna!❤❤❤
Thank you : ) And big hugs to you ... have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
Hi 👋 Kate & Charlie 😍
I love your handwriting & your picturesque View on the beauty you find! Thank you 🥰
I really enjoyed this one…I wonder why?? lol Enjoy your high frequency lifestyle!!
I thought of you as it seemed a little while since your last video. Wishing you well for the darker days, its not always easy is it. I just had a nice trip to Poland for the Christmas markets xx hope little Charlie is back to himself

Please don't be too hard on yourself about Charlie! ❤
You are such a good dog mom. Even the best of parents slip up once in a while. I'm glad he is doing better. Please give him a big kiss from me! And I am sending you hugs and love from Montana. I hope you can feel it. ❤❤❤
Thank you for the hugs and encouraging words!!! I really appreciate it : ) have a lovely weekend!❤❤❤
Sending lots of love to you and Charlie xxx🥰 💕❤️
Poor Charlie but in sure he knows his mom would never intentionally hurt him. Great video Kate stay warm 🎄
Aww, poor Charlie. So easy to do when they give you those eyes! I hope you are both doing well. Some great goals.
HAPPY FRIDAY Kate and Charlie. Enjoy your weekend.
Charlie is such a good boy🐾
You are so incredibly inspiring, thank you for these Vlogs.
Everything nutritious is killed in high-heat manufacturing process and synthetic “nutrients”
are added back in.

Hope Charlie has a speedy recovery.
Lovely video, Kate. I so enjoy your take on your little corner of the universe. Wishing you joy and fun times 🎉
Thank you so much! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!❤❤❤
