This is so awesome! I had a system similar to this. it was just notepads no my old note book. I had it as my third monitor and used it for this very purpose. Got the idea from watching a video about VALVE. They use the same system with there game development team. But I may buy this program due to its extreme awesomeness because this looks way more proficient.
I tried to deploy Kanbot as well. The outcome was the same as yours, but moving the items to testing without the work did not go over well. Thanks for the ideas tho!
I spent 10 years in electronics manufacturing understanding kanban as a system of "kanban this" or "kanban that" to us kanban is bit of software. I wish management had told us about how it works in the big picture. I'd really like (I hope you're listening management folks) if every new employee should be given an overview of what it is and how it works.
Hey, I really enjoyed this video! For the first time, after 2 years of software engineering studies im actually looking forward to get involved with more of Kanban and Scrum. However, I think you kinda forgot to explain how Kanban is representing Scrum's "Sprint" idea....I guess it's something like daily work or something like that, right? Say hello to Kanbot from me
I would recommend you to make such a video based on TRIZ algorithm metodology, which can beat Kanban or Scrum algorithm in any category, whether it is software or hardware development methodology.
That Kanbot thing must have taken a lot of time to add into the video. It's like an alpha Geek signal, look I can make stuff with a 3d printer, look I can do stop-go animation, look I "get" Japanese anime culture, and I really wanted to make a cool video but I was strong armed into making something "useful" and "accessible". It also speaks to the tedious neoteny that infuses software culture; it might be good marketing right now, but I don't think it will age well because the culture is shifting. As for the first part of the video, well done, very informative.
Thanks! There is also a software for this called Pivotal Tracker. It's UI even looks similar to your table 1:14. I'm using it for an internship project.
The kind of Kanban shown here is like a dashbaord that most of the processes use in most basic organisations. would be great if you can highlight the additional value add of kanban ?
It would be great to see other people's take on reporting while using Kanban. I am doing it right know, but I feel that if the tool used doesn't have a strong reporting suite, it might be a manual process of counting every card done or card per user done....
I really like the video. I am taking a manufacturing class and I need something to do a presentation. Can I possibly use this video? I wanted to get permission before I did.
In Jira, Epics, User Stories, and Tasks are all on the Kanban board in the Backlog column. If I move user story to "In Progress" and that user story belongs to an epic, does that also mean the epic is now "In Progress"? How come I can move a user story to "In Progress" without moving the tasks associated with that user story over? How can a user story be "In Progress" if the associated tasks are still in the backlog. I'm so confused. I've been googling for hours and I can't figure out how this works.
Oh my god, stop asking that kind of questions. After effect, Vegas, Final Cut, there's a million softwares to make that kind of videos. What's important is the skills, not the software
Axosoft Scrum, the maker of this video, also has a Kanban board that's easy to set up! Feel free to check it out here: www.axosoft.com/features/planning-board
Check out www.my3dfolder.com - See how Kanban board is literally folded in to your everyday life at schools. It’s simple improvement to your everyday two-sided folder by adding another side. Yet, it makes all the difference in the world!
Guys you are doing great stuff but can you please rectify the statement.."Scrum Methodology". Scrum is not a methodology but a "Framework" which can even adopt practises from Kanban and many other Agile methods. The Methodology statement can be very misleading to people who are just hearing of this for the first time.
Great video but please don't block cards by total number of any given column! We are people and deal with real problems, maybe a visual indicator of warning is good but sometimes shit may happen and you have to stack items where they belong. A huge column is already an indicator of something smelly in the workflow.
This was absolutely helpful, and I love the video... except this ukulele disgusting music. I hope one day this will stop to be popular for videos .... and whatever.
For writing code, Kanban and Scrum are horrible methodologies. Waterfall works best. Believe me all of the new and great frontiers of the web (Twitter, Facebook, Ebay, Tumbler) were not written using any of those methodologies. All it takes is a developer with the desire to create a product. Introducing methodologies that are geared twords the factory or construction industry does not carry well over to the software development process.
The ONLY way Scrum/Kanban (or any methodology) is 100% buy-in from all involved. It only takes one person doing things their own way to crater an otherwise well laid plan. My business does design, mech engineering, electrical engineering, and software - Scrum/Kanban works quite well and forces continuous improvements. Buy-in and discipline is the key. I will not hire anyone that ~must~ do things their own way. I need people that can function as a system, learn from each other, help each other, predict each other, etc, etc.
here is a crazy idea: software developers aren't factory workers or waiters and shouldn't be forced to work like that! Scrum/Kanban is great for getting work done that you should probably outsource to India anyway.
I hate these video formats with their annoying background music, awful editing and one third of the video just being the ad. Just talk like a normal person, please.
Why can't school and university just give us videos to watch like these, makes life 100000000 times easier, now I understand thanks.
I'm doing a Masters in IT and my PM tutor just showed us the Scrum in 10 Minutes video and I must admit, it explains it perfectly
and 10000000000 times faster
They just did
cuz school is not there to help you learn
They wany to fail so you take the classes again and pay double -_-
The best kanban video introduction i’ve ever watched! BIG THANK YOU!!!
You have made my day with the Kanbot. Amazing video
scrum explained so simply!! product backlog, sprint and release!!! really interesting concept

Thanks mate, it is the best explanation ever regarding Kanban.
Finally an easy video to understand Kanban TYVM
I tried to deploy Kanbot as well. The outcome was the same as yours, but moving the items to testing without the work did not go over well.
Thanks for the ideas tho!
if i got an A+ in my manufacturing system subject, i`ll treat you a mcdonald cheeseburger.
Man I gotta know, did he get his McDouble?
@@IAMAGUNH4XP same tbh lol

A big Thank you for crisp an clear video Explanation. We have been using this kind of system without knowing its term as KANBAN :)
crisp and clear..thank you !
Thank you. Amazing video, easy way to understand the system
Loved it! thank you...installing Kanban on a VM today
This is great! Thank you for making blocks and blocks of text simplified.
Short and effective. Awesome. Thanks a lot!
You made my day.great explanation.thank you
Excellent visual explanation easy to remember! Many thanks!
Really good video for introducing Kanban!
Great job. Thank you so much

Good presentation by author. ...Thanks for the video.

Incredibly simple and impressive explanation of Kanban :)..Awesome Video.
Thank u very much. This video is legit helps me to understanding the kanban. so.. thank u very much
Wonderful introduction to Kanban. Thanks.
Love it!!! Easy peasy!
Amazing video,Thanks a lot & got idea about KANBAN
This is such an amazing video!
Great video, thanks!
Hi, This was very helpful. Would you share with me the software you used to create this video please?
Aileen Kelly please let me know too
Excellent !
How do I buy the Kanbot? I'm throwing money at the screen and nothing happens.
Thank you very much Sir ..
Its so relaxing!
your videos are great. Could you please guide what tools you use for video creation?
Thanks! There is also a software for this called Pivotal Tracker. It's UI even looks similar to your table 1:14. I'm using it for an internship project.
I enjoyed this
Great video - thanks
Yes! thank you!
Thank you, useful !
So helpful!
Trello is a great tool for this purpose!
it looks great!
Thank you!
Really useful video
Good intro. Thanks
amazing and effective tutorial, very easy to understand. Which tool are you using for making these videos?
great video
Very nice intro
Which software is. Used to develop this video
thanks axosoft please provoide some video in project management software
Are you able to schedule the same workflow month after month without having to re-create the cards?
Really awesome
loved the ending...how did you make this video? What software did you use?
After effect, Vegas, Final Cut, whatever. You don't have the skills.
mangerlentement I love your comment :)
is that easy to deploy within waterfall method, too?
Well, you are able to use a kanban board to visualize the work that needs to be done. Personally I would not recommend using the waterfall method.
The kind of Kanban shown here is like a dashbaord that most of the processes use in most basic organisations. would be great if you can highlight the additional value add of kanban ?
No.
Fab, thanks so much. :-)
So Kanban is basically Scrum but for small teams without the Scrum overhead of sprints and meetings?
It would be great to see other people's take on reporting while using Kanban. I am doing it right know, but I feel that if the tool used doesn't have a strong reporting suite, it might be a manual process of counting every card done or card per user done....
KANBAN BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
awesome!
I really like the video. I am taking a manufacturing class and I need something to do a presentation. Can I possibly use this video? I wanted to get permission before I did.
no i wont allow you.
Hi its a very nice video for thanks you r share this
love it

Nice video. Can someone tell me what's the name of the program they used to make such a video?

mangerlentement lol you reply multiple times to a year old comment...
The sushi example saved my life
Axosoft Scrum, the maker of this video, also has a Kanban board that's easy to set up! Feel free to check it out here: www.axosoft.com/features/planning-board
I like your kung fu man
Can you please elaborate?
Hi, it's a great video, informative and easy to understand. Wondering how to make it, any procedure/software hints? Thanks!!!
این ویدئو برای ۱۱ سال پیشه و خیلی باکیفیت ساخته شده ، جالبه
Your videos are fantastic, but it would be good to have subtitles in Spanish.
_"get started with a free 30 days trial"_
…or just put sticky notes on a whiteboard, like a normal person.
mangerlentement , you're talking out your ass: sticky notes fall off too easily.
work faster, they wont have time to fall from the board
Why is it pronounced konbon? Should not the a sounds be the same as the a sound of cat?
Your dp is justified with this comment of yours..
Check out www.my3dfolder.com - See how Kanban board is literally folded in to your everyday life at schools. It’s simple improvement

Do I have to have a beard, wear glasses and drink soja latte to use Kanban? please help
Things where still to complicated for the management so now we are getting near kid games where you need to stick color papers on a board.
You made me hungry for sushi (and kanban)

Scrum is not a methodology but a "Framework" which can even adopt practises from Kanban and many other Agile methods. The Methodology statement can be very misleading to people who are just hearing of this for the first time.
this seems overly simplistic. It does not show dependencies of tasks.
music too loud!
Great video but please don't block cards by total number of any given column!

Hmm, this is not exactly KANBAN - more like KANPLAN...
Kanban > Scrumban
Drop the stupid background music, please
Scrum is not a methodology...
