I dunno. I think it’s admirable for someone to continue to perform how he does without giving a single bother about what anyone says or thinks. I can’t help but think if he were 20-30 years younger, we would even be calling his performances “weird” or “cringy”. We all have to acknowledge that ageism is rampant in KPop. People shouldn’t have to tone themselves down or change themselves just because society made a stupid, arbitrary rule saying people of a certain age shouldn’t behave or dress a certain way. It’s certainly worse for women, but men face ageism too. Let the guy do what he wants. If he’s having fun and not hurting himself or other people, there’s really no harm in how he performs.
I would say ageism is just in the music industry in general. Which is a shame but it comes down to relatability imo. Older fans can’t relate because his music is very similar to younger kpop acts today and younger people can’t relate to him because he is an older man utilizing a younger aesthetic and sound. Classic MADONNA effect lol. It’s sad but it’s true 😢 but I do hope we can all get past the “you have to be in your 20s to do pop” phase soon.

At this point idk how tf how I feel about JYP, his career has been all over the place. He has insane confidence, knows the industry, has influenced ripples that have effected the very foundations of kpop. But he also refuses to leave the stage without being "different" and has made some questionable decisions as a boss. He seems both fun loving and silly but also seems to make some ridiculous demands and is cringey. I seriously don't know how to feel about this guy!
I kinda respect him more for being this ridiculously cringe 😂 I think it’s a good way of continuation of breaking the boundaries of k-pop. People are so serious about everything nowadays ( And sometimes it doesn’t leave a place for fun and doesn’t make idols’ lives easier. But we need to remember that it’s an entertainment industry! So let’s have fun and cringe 💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I recently discovered JYP. I am definitely a new fan now. I love his two songs At The Disco and I'm a Changed Man along with his choreography. He is very innovative and talented. I enjoy his different ways very much. Some people are stuck in their boring lane and won't change or experience new things.
I agree. Whats the point of this video again? Maybe the MZ would laugh at him but all that aside they would remember him as well. As you know in kpop visibility is the one most important thing to do either negative or positive, visibility is still the best thing to do to thrive in the industry. And for someone of his stature i dont think he would mind the negativity for him i think is that he express what he wanted to do. So in the end he is happy to do things he like may it be at the cost of his legacy or not. Again my question, what is again the point of the video? If you have an answer to this question you are probably bother by jyp's eccentricity. If you dont have an answer that means you accept that anyone can express his or her feelings without fear and you can always dont mind the public and their critique of everything and anything simply because theyre hiding at the guise of their keyboard.
I don't understand why kpop fans get so serious and riled up over this. Kpop is supposed to be fun, and he's out here trying to bring fun and spontaneity back to the scene.
jyp came from a time when kpop was interesting, look at the outfits they wore, even up to the time of big bang, now it's like kpop is going conservative, and fans judge artists who look "extreme" negatively, it became really lame
Let him be. We need all sorts in the world. In the West his performance would’ve been greatly appreciated, for us it’s not about the perfect choreographed performance, it’s about expressing yourself 😂
As cringe as he may appear sometimes you can't deny that man HAS TALENT. Like he has left an unremoval mark on the kpop industry and is a respected figure. But tbh THE CHILDHOOD PHOTO OF HIM HE LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME LMFAOOOOOO ITS LIKE HIS BODY GREW BUT HE'S FACE GOT STUCK IN TIME. I was laughed so hard my fianceé came to check on me and laughed her ass off too
After watching how sweet and encouraging he was with the girls in A2K, I’ve changed my mind about him. Prior to that I thought he was an ego-maniac, and while that might be true in part, I kind of love how he doesn’t take himself seriously. He’s breaking Korean beauty standards, challenging some of the more restrictive and illogical social rules, and having a blast in the process. All while being the force behind some of the most important acts in K-pop. Icon.
The biggest question is why did he eliminate Sean from Nizi 2 when he praised him the whole time for being idol-level and with immense star quality but because he, in his eyes, was a second off from the other performers when dancing he’s cut? Make it make sense JYP #IYKYK
The fact he managed to create a label back when SMTown was firmly in place and did it say YG was already in place? If it was that is all the more impressive he is a mainstay as a big record label being that late. I am a fan of his stuff. I like "Honey" and "Swing Baby" and "A Prison Without Bars" plus the song he did with Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" riff. I have to say I think the "Honey" dance is cheesy though, sorry Park Jin Young. I also respect the man for still hustling and trying to create new stuff even when they try age shaming him. The same respect extends to him being the ONLY label to serve his trainees Organic, no GMO's or anything to make people sick. If I had a kid who wants to do music in South Korea, Park Jin Young would be the only choice because of this unless the others change their food accordingly. I have to call him out on canning Park Jiyoon though seeing those pants. When did JiYoon cross the line or was he being sexist and expecting different standards for her over him? By the way, the music video for "Sung In Suk" is brilliant and fits the lyrics while being subtle though likely not for the Asian audience.
The problem is not with Jyp performance but the audience's reaction. All of them acted like they were on a governmental occasion so cringe! He will be much appreciated in the western. Even I'm not a fan of him, but can't tolerate such a weird reaction!
I see him as doing all of this to help promote JYP, the company. There's always something to talk about with that bunch. He's like VCHA is gonna debut and NMIXX is dropping an album, time to wear eyeliner 😅
JYP has become a meme! When did it happen? Probably when he appeared out of nowhere in the middle of 2pm' new year performance. I hope he keeps doing whatever he's doing 😹
JYP is really not the best artist but he’s definitely one of the most iconic/meme worthy. 🤣 Also he’s probably my fave big 4 company CEO, in that he’s the right amount of closeness with his artist, hands on the artists works, and also not letting their trainees be limited by their looks. I think his and Bang PDs experience as artists definitely shaped how they ran their company - integrity, to concentrate on hard work, slowly but surely, humility, and to show their passion in all their performances. Bang PD is my second fave company CEO/exCEO next to JYP.
At times I really don't like JYP and his attitude towards trainees and hopefuls (criticizing Rain for his looks and telling a girl that her dancing would be better if she lost weight) but then I remember he wrote Feel Special for Sana.
Ok they ain’t pretty but funfact: plastic pants were invented by JYP as a concept to criticize the broadcasting stations’ bans. Back then, you could be banned for wearing sunglasses, earrings or even dyed your hair. They’re ugly but that was kindof a genius marketing move since it caught a lot of attention bc everyone was shook with an idol appearing in underwear.
I think the over the top thing is part of his image. The outfits and the dancemoves make me laugh so hard sometimes and his songs are mostly pretty catchy too. I don't think it was the plan for him to be taken seriously as an artist otherwise I think he would have toned down a bit. His last performance with the white dress and purple jumpsuit was a total mess and chaos on stage. I didn't like it much but it did fit his image. I think it's just a way to express himself because the artists he does manage/managed by JYP don't seem to do such over the top stuff.
idk why but jyp is the uncle to everyone he is so funny😂😂it’s lightning my mood every time i watch jyp memes idk he’s confident is so high and that i find it very funny and quirky again i have love and hate towards jyp😂❤️❤️

u have not moved on from jay park?he has his own company now and is a successful person too now..i admire jay park and 2 pm too.i am a hottest too.but never did i hold grudge against jyp for that issue cause we never know what the root cause is.for what obvious is the jay park sns account being racist and spread hatred towards the korean...why do u have to blame jyp for that?he is doing what he needs to do.if not...the whole 2pm would be casted away from society because of this.remember that the whole member had to lay low dueing this period.@@penultimania4295
Good for him!
He just dgaf 😭 respect lmao
Netizens and those actors don't know what ironic glam and funny shameless performances are and it shows. JYP is iconic.
At least he's creative. And still gets attention. Its not easy to stay relevant for so long.
Crazy or not, I am a Forever JYP fan!!!❤❤
His style is too Hollywood. In Korea they find him weird, but in USA that would be just so normal.
He's a man doing what he wants, because he can, have fun and enjoys it. I applaud that. I kindda envy the guy.
Don’t you guys get it??? He’s doing an Andy Kaufman on the K-Pop industry!!! Genius!!!!
It’s called TALENT!!
I don't understand why kpop fans get so serious and riled up over this. Kpop is supposed to be fun, and he's out here trying to bring fun and spontaneity back to the scene.
Jyp paved the way for kpop. Facts....❤
He is just having fun and doesn't care what anyone else thinks.
jyp came from a time when kpop was interesting, look at the outfits they wore, even up to the time of big bang, now it's like kpop is going conservative, and fans judge artists who look "extreme" negatively, it became really lame
He looks like everyone’s crazy uncle. Like, Oh-Kaaaaay….
Let him be. We need all sorts in the world. In the West his performance would’ve been greatly appreciated, for us it’s not about the perfect choreographed performance, it’s about expressing yourself 😂
JYP knows how to market himself and his groups indefinitely longer than it should be or as fans should expect to be and I really applaud him for that❤
I guess the performances look weird to Asian audiences, but a western audience they look fine. The transparent jumpsuit is 🔥🔥🔥
JYP is That Guy
I think he is iconic PERIOD. If some people are bigots, worse for them
i stan jyp but i only stan him because of the memes😂
THEY WERE ROOMATES :0
The thumbnail said everything🙃
I want his confidence
He's sexy, funny and iconic. The perfect entretainer and daddy
i have no idea if jyp is a good person behind closed doors but he seems like it and i feel like we don’t see a lot of good people in kpop production
I agree with your post
We're living in his world. We just haven't accepted it lol
I see him as doing all of this to help promote JYP, the company. There's always something to talk about with that bunch. He's like VCHA is gonna debut and NMIXX is dropping an album, time to wear eyeliner 😅
Reminds me of the VINE THEY WERE ROOMATES
Jyp is a king😭👑he dgaf
💅💕😍LIKE TATIANNA PINK💅💕😍
💖😏TATIANNA PINK IS PRETTY INK PINK💖😏
I love JYP's music since it has a bit of a retro vibe.
Love him or hate him, jyp is without a doubt eccentric. He's just as influential as Seo Taiji in the Korean music industry.
He is JY-Meme, he knows what he is doing is funny 🤣
Kyungsoo ❤
JYP reminds me of Squidward in SpongeBob cartoon
He's the Korean Tomny Wiseau!😂
