  • Join me in the shop for a night of bait making. We make a new color that comes out pretty nice. This soft caramel whiskey with hints of orange and red are not only pleasing to our eye. The bass will love them as well. Everything created is available for purchase. Just reach out on my FB page 87oaks.

That is a nice color, especially in that mold. The legs almost look orange. Going to give it a try.
As to your tackiness...stir...stir...SCRAPE...and stir some more.
I pour black label swimbait from 5 gal pails. I mechanically stir and use a wood paddle to scrape the bottom.
I pour into a gallon jug. If that has set for multiple days, I use a smaller paddle to scrape the bottom of the jug.
Regarding the different durometers. I add 2 tbls of worm oil/softener per cup for worms. For sticks I add 1/4 cup salt to that mixture.
They are extremely soft. But they are for my personal use.
Just how I do it....great that you're sharing your experiences!

I am in the process of messing with some worm oil to change the durometer up a bit. Thanks for watching and the advice!!

That’s a cool looking color! As far as the dead on plastisol you gotta mix like crazy. When you think you have mixed it enough, go ahead and mix some more lol. If you use it regularly then it’s not too bad but if it sits for a week or so then it takes quite a bit of mixing

Thank you. Yes I did a lot of reading up on it after I had some issues with it. I will for sure make some more attempts with it. I was just use to the red label and it mixes pretty fast and easy.
