I was in the Police for around 15 years. I've watched a few of your videos and really like them. I think they're well presented and this one has some really accurate information in - at least from my knowledge, having been in and around prisons in a professional capacity.
I sometimes hear people say how easy prison is, but from what I saw, both from remand prisoners, those serving sentences and those getting released, it's anything but easy. Unless as you pointed out, your idea of "easy" is having a 14 inch tv, having a locked door, stuck in an old victorial cellblock, being given food everyday that you have no choice over, stuck with the same people all day, told when you can and can't go out, eating with plastic cutlery, being escorted around like a child.
As you say, it's a waste of life and rather than being outside living, you're stuck inside wasting away.

Done 3 months in HMP hindley YOI at 17 years old back in 09, felt like a holiday camp, nice and clean other inmates mostly chilled, even had a xbox in my cell after 4 weeks. After 5 or 6 weeks being in there they brought xbox 360s onto the wing and we could play that during social time. Honestly think I had a better 3 months in so called prison than I would have had I been on the out. I've not been back since met a good woman who helped me learn the error of my ways.

Respect people, no hostility and I see and hear nothing. I'm a small lad so I might be unfortunately by default thrown on a vuln wing which I hear are full of sex offenders who I might actually have more of an issue with. The possible hour out of your cells I'd most likely only use for a shower and maybe take a shit in that time if the dudes out the cell so he don't have to smell that shit or at least it's not too bad most exercise I'll ask the guy I'm sharing with if it's alright with him that I do some stuff there, tell me if there's any other pointers I need lads

I watch all these videos on jail and what to avoid yet jail to me is home and it's the outside I don't understand, rules don't borrow don't rat don't steel and if your in a gang always say so and never ever rob someone and last always always admit what your in for, prison is a social media platform everyone will know anyway and if you have any worries ask to go to a protection wing. Most of the time if you borrow a radio or phone it will be broke they know it's broke but will blame you man and bill you a fortune, try and find a friend but not a close friend just someone to mix with but don't trust him but nothing worse than being a loner in jail it's okay if you can handle yourself but I've seen guys on there own and become victims to the others guys and never trust screws they will help the people that bully you and even turn the cameras so it's not seen I've seen this many times, best advice don't go jail but you can do your time in peace if you don't get caught up in all the drama.

That’s not to say the food inside wasn’t any good mind… but there’s a simple pleasure in leafing through a takeaway menu on your sofa and picking the gear you want and cracking on BGT. (We could still watch BGT in HMP FYI)

When I was last in (been out since 2019) I was out in with a woman who'd never been inside before. I had a parcel, baccy, lighter etc.
She was petrified as she didn't use but I was respectful to her and did it in the shower ( We had shower in our cells) I told her IF anything happens to keep her mouth shut, & act clueless... Her reply was "I don't know what you're talking about' as soon as she said that I knew she could be trusted..... We are still in touch today. 👍☺.

3.57, he says, prisoners throw out rubbish into yard, less than a minute before, when speaking of cell, and cell m8 having a crap, he said you have to inhale it as window don't open... So,
I'm confused, does, the window open or not. Because you said it don't, then it does..... Good video BTW, like the way you go through the scenes, and giving the heads up on what to expect however,
Need re assuring on the window situation 😂

Well, I suppose there could be some advantages for some. For example a recluse/hermit who didn't want to go outside. Lived a life indoors anyway. Providing they got a single cell. They would have their own space, plus free roof over their head, free food, no bills to pay.
However, if having to share a cell with one or more others would be hell on earth. Especially if it's others you can't get on with. Would be a bit like marriage really, except no intimacy at all.
Just that as they say there could be some positives to the negatives. Depending on the person, and situation.

Ricky, can I suggest you re-film your report? this would be good to be used at schools/ Colleges. if you could re-edit the report and beep out the swearing am sure these young teenagers who wanna be Gangsters see your report, this could deter them from thinking about a life of crime?
great report and very interesting seeing the realities of life behind bars.
