If you move into a place without a washer and dryer and don't want to invest in one, you could always rent appliances. My husband and I rented a house for two years and rented a washer/dryer during that time and it was a great option.

I've lived in Florida since 96 and I hear so many people upset about how everything here has changed. This state used to be the best place to live. Now, with all the hordes of people moving here each week, everything is RIDICULOUSLY expensive AND CROWDED. Thankfully, I'm retiring early and GETTING THE HELL OUT OF HERE. I need to live in an area with acres of land and a change of seasons and good, polite drivers and people who are actually kind and friendly.

So glad you got a dehumidifier! I lived in a leaky basement years ago and my makeup collection got infested with mold. I lost hundreds and hundreds in products by the time I realized.

Girlllll, This is crazy because I just recently went through the same thing. I've been in my apartment since 2021. I am the second longest standing tenant in this building. They raised my rent a $100 and something as well. You are definitely not alone.

Girl this is not just happening to you trust me! This has been the worst week EVER at my house. It’s been pouring rain and my basement keeps flooding.. and on top of it MY CAR BROKE DOWN 2 days ago and we have to pay $300 to get it towed to the ford dealership tomorrow (we couldn’t do it before Thursday because we don’t get paid til Thursdays) and I have a 6yr old and I broke down in the middle of the city by my house with my kid and no way to get home and not in a good neighborhood. Plus in PA you have to have your car inspected every yr. The other car we have my husband only uses to drive bak n forth from work, and the inspection was overdue last month because the place we always take our cars to had no appointments until the end of August! It’s just ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER so I understand what you’re going through!

Sorry life's been kicking you in the butt lately, I hope it's better now! Sending you all the hugs. Idk what it's like to have AC until now because I live in Alaska LOL. It hit 78 where I live and that was HOT for me to handle so I went and bought a portable AC unit hahah.
I’m going through the exact same thing with moving at the moment. It is so stressful. Could you buy a used washer and dryer? And maybe save little by little to pay the deposit + months rent come next year? I truly think having a yard and more space is something to strive towards! Rooting for you, hope it works out!
Girl let me tell you I went in for a routine gallbladder removal with it supposedly being outpatient but the dr nicked my aorta in 2 places and I barely survived. I had 12 liters of blood transfusions total but I just got to come home today. Life is so fragile and can turn on a dime.

Hopefully Koa is doing better and isn’t in too much pain. I didn’t know that was an issue dogs or gsds could have. I have a gsd so I’ll have to do research on it in case it ever happens. I love how caring you are towards your pets in regard to anything but especially with this AC scenario. I’m the same way, it’s nice to see other owners care deeply about their pets.

Yea. In our house we had to pay 8k in March for new unit. It's expense that pops" up... gotta have emergency savings to pay for all this. And do maintenance on any and everything you can. When it rains it pours !! Sorry girl. Abd yup hurricane Debby had raining here for 7 days !! Ugh. It's SO hot N Humid Now !!!

Renting there is weird. If they want to renovate, they should give you an option to move into an apartment you can afford. I never heard of them kicking you out or being unable to renew your lease.
I’ve seen it happen so often. It happened at our other complex. I would have to vacate while they renovate then move in when it’s done at the new updated rate. It happens sadly

I moved into a building that was remodeling and u asked straight up- are u gonna kick us out next yr if u want to remodel? They said No and thank Goodness we were there 6 yrs and we finally just moved on. I agree with org written that they should offer u a transfer to another apt. Also with the heat they should be offering u another place 3 days! No reason for that. My appt couldn't get part fast enough so we got a new system. Guessing we were blessed

We had some of that storm here yesterday and there was a tornado warning and we were supposed to take shelter. It was some wicked weather. Immediately after it stopped I went outside and there was the most beautiful gorgeous complete double rainbow. Like it couldn't get any prettier. I wish I could show you the picture. And when I saw it I was reminded that sometimes we go through incredible storms in our life and it doesn't seem like we can take anymore and then it'll let up and it will be followed by beauty and light in your life. God gives us that after a storm, even tribulations in life. So I say all this to say, hang in there beautiful girl, it will pass and you will have easy, beautiful,joyous times of plenty to follow. Pharmacologist here. If your tummy goes nuts with antibiotics, make sure to eat foods with active bacterial cultures, like some yoghurts (check ingredients), or take a probiotic capsule daily.
I live in the Canadian Rockies, and few houses (including ours) have AC. I usually sleep in the basement during any heatwaves we get during our brief summers. However, my husband found these cooling cloths on Amazon for $20 CAD for two cloths. I cannot emphasise enough about what a game changer these have been. I can sleep in my bedroom when it's 34°C for days on end! Apparently, they're not as effective in humid climates, but it might be worth a shot until your AC returns. ❤
So I’m really lactose intolerant so it would have to be a dairy free option. But I love that you’re a pharmacologist and you watch my content like what?!? How freaking cool!!!

Girl, first of all when your AC goes out and it’s that hot. I think that is considered an emergency specially when you have dogs or any kind of animal that may put them in distress. How do you know if Koa didn’t get distressed and it caused his anal gland to flare up during this time? I would also tell your apartments that you want every day that you didn’t have AC prorated because it was miserable. You’re better than me because had it been me my family I definitely would’ve went to a hotel and demanded them to pay for it, otherwise have them find a way to prorate each day you went without the AC. Sorry if I sound like a robot. But I had my AC units both break down on us about three years ago. We had to buy not one AC but two new units so I completely understand what you are going through. Not with just the AC units but everything else that’s hitting you in the face financially and physically.
So we looked at our lease and it’s in thr agreement that AC is not considered an emergency and they are not reliable for providing housing or any equipment to help during AC being out sadly. Granted my place was willing to help the best they can but I’m grateful I got the portable AC because it is help on my dogs

My sister had one cat escape at the vet while leaving, a Hurricane no electric 2 wks, then a car wreck that left her husband in hospital. Car totaled. The second cat escaped. Sorry! Life happens.

Another comment.... the maintenance knew you needed a new compressor they should have had it approved and had it ordered. And they want to raise your freaking rent
See if you can go to the auto zone and see if they can charge the battery. When getting a new battery, take back the old battery to get the core charge. I was thinking about the money spent, especially when it's an emergency. I have a cat that has seizures and busted her mouth after business hours. The emergency vet visit was 850.00. She's my most expensive cat 🐈. Her vet bills and medical bills are expensive. My daughter found her crying and on deaths door. She's missing an eye also! I rent a room out just to have extra money just in case of an emergency!

@AllieDawson our compressor, broke too, and it was 200 more just to buy a new unit. We had to wait a week, but I kept my dogs upstairs as well. I would cook easy dinners.

So what I heard is….you got your raised rent significantly lowered by just asking, your job gave you an extra day of hours, you were able to have you and your dog’s health needs met with great healthcare, you and your husband were able to purchase an AC unit and soon a battery, & not have to wait till payday, plus you’re getting samples and items from Haus Labs! And you got to appreciate a great friendship of some who is no longer suffering from cancer. Allie, quit manifesting these bad situations. You really do attract what you think. Life will continue to stay this way as long as you continue to focus on the “lack of” and negativity. Same with your social media accounts. Quit telling us and manifesting that you’re not good enough, cause you’ll get that every time. You are worthy, you are a worthy creator. You can turn it around!
