I try not to be too harsh, but since watching Gabriel when he had 12k followers, I find all the travel vloggers that have come after him, boring, going for sensationalism, no informed history of the places they visit, etc. Gabriel is like a well loved history teacher who informs as well as entertains, unfortunately he is in a niche market hence his following being 600k not 2mil. But at least Gabriel has amazing followers who ask intelligent questions, give useful imput etc. ❤😊

How about content using your expertise on how to plan for trips, logistics, finances etc? For example, years ago when I travelled to Thailand to volunteer I was shocked that my volunteer buddy had just emailed the place asking if they wanted help, whereas I had paid an agency a lot of money not being as savvy as him. He ended up in the very same accommodation as me also! That travel changed my life & I always look for budget places to stay & eat etc usually in Spain, but I also always end up overspending. Your life skills could help some young people starting out & some not so young! 😊

Congratulations Gabriel on surviving a decade on RUclips. The algorithm Keeps changing and reducing the views. So we are always battling the algorithm. The way around this is to make more clips and videos of various lengths from each video. That way one days video shoot can give you 20 videos. This allows you to focus and highlight each aspect of a long video that can get lost in one long video. That works for me.
I think people are interested in specific aspects of the USA and specific cities. LA, LV, NY, MIA, DC, ATL, Disney, Universal Studios, etc. etc.

Very few RUclipsrs see fit to share this kind of information, but doing so shows an awful lot of respect for your viewers, so I think we should be thanking you for that. And what makes these simple videos to have an audience is your authenticity. We know that Gabriel that we see , is probably by 90% what the real Gabriel is .I believe this makes someone watching for more minutes your videos. Each of your videos is more like a story with start, medium and end and not just flashing pictures of fancy videos of other creators.

@GabrielTravelerVideos - Long time subscriber! Congrats on 600k subs ✌️🤙 Quick questions - do your older videos still bring in money and have you noticed certain video thumbnails pics bringing in more views? I noticed the “This is why you should travel to EL Salvador” is already at 42k views..3rd most viewed in the last 5 months right behind the Manali and the Kuwait vid.

The older videos just bring in a trickle at this point. Thumbnails are super important, probably the second most important thing after making a good video. But it can be a bit random what images actually work well.

Of course the beautiful things is - a person gets paid for ALL the videos that were watched on their channel. And the expenses are basically like having a company debit card to use - so its a benefit of the job. You could say in addition to having a completely free trip, you also ended up with hundreds of dollars of cash in your pocket. And if you made that amount from 14 videos - perhaps when ALL of the videos on the channel are counted, the total dollar amount is even higher.
I respect you for carving out a niche and making travelling your job - while being completely independent.

A northern California brewery tour series would be cool on your 2nd channel. A lot of great spots up there: Russian River, Henhouse, Anderson Valley, North Coast etc etc

Gabe - The almost daily videos must be beyond punishing at times; have you considered, and would you consider, trying to offload some of the behind the scenes editing and production work to some off-camera resource such as someone to at least help with 'first drafts' for you to then shape?

Hello Gabriel, I'm enjoying all the videos so far , and out of all the 'best' jobs/ occupations in the world, you clearly have the best job in the world, and its credit given to you for providing me/ the rest of audience with your adventures, travelling can be expensive, but in the end it's totally worth it, no matter where you go. Thanks for everything so far!

Gabriel is a non-judgemental person.....probably from his Parents and childhood living in Willet CA.
You should watch his Northern CA videos from a month ago.
He is also very articulate speaker.

Be sure to write off those business expenses and any losses. Might be prudent to keep your business finances separate from personal income (wages). So you don't have to pay more than necessary.

Save your pennies and buy a retirement home in one of the cheaper countries that you like. It will be the best investment you make. Time flies and we get old in a blink of an eye. Love your videos!!😁

Thanks gor sharing Gabriel. Don't forget to invest any extra money. Index funds for a start but other things as you get to grips with it. That's how I'm funding my travels and retirement age 37 and I never had a massive salary in the past.

I love watching your videos but my only advice is to talk a bit less, meaning less story telling about past experiences. I watched your El Salvador videos with a friend who will be traveling to El Salvador and she said you talked a bit too much and didn’t finish the videos. You are a story teller and some love it and some don’t. A bit more footage and less long winded story telling could make a difference in gaining more viewers. People just don’t have much patience when comes to getting the information they need. Not a criticism but rather an observation based on my experience and others. You are definitely one of the most authentic person on RUclips.

Wow! This was an incredibly interesting video. HUGE respect for your transparency and honesty in sharing this information. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve EVER watched a RUclips video of this openness with finances before. Such an eye opener. I really thought you made more money than this, especially considering how much hard work you put into it. With that in mind, it truly highlights the PASSION you have for traveling and for this AMAZING travel channel. Money is NOT everything in life. ) You are a man to be admired and respected. You have a “class act” travel channel with manners, a real gentleman. Numbers and stats don’t provide the entire picture. Essence is found in the immeasurable. You educate, inspire, entertain, and keep the travel bug and dreams alive for so many!!!! You can’t put a price on that. You and this AMAZING travel channel are worth SO MUCH MORE!!!!! Onwards to ONE MILLION SUBS!!! It WILL happen. 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I think you loose to much money on hopping to much around and only share about the things on the surface. If you stay longer on each place and go more deeply into the place you lower the living cost, and make more money as well. Like staying a month a place and cover that place well, different topics and so forth. You will get a month deal on the room, maybe a month deal on motorbike, cutting house and transport by half. A good place to try the theory for you since you like Yoga may be Rishikesh, and the area around there. Cover topics about the different temples, gods, stories about Ganga and so forth. Then Short hop to Nepal, longer time in Kathmandu area, The three royal cities, Nagakot, villages and that part.
I live by 30 - 30, stay 30 days one place make alout of day excurtions from that place, and move on 30 days to next place and cover that. Sri Lanka, Bali, Rest of South East Asia and fo forth. Amd if you realy want your views to go up, be a little cowoy, maybe try Damaskus Syria, and maybe Muree and Skardu in Pakistan, + a go to Tibet, do some crazy s**t. That will help getting new viewers as well :)

Interesting & thank you for sharing this. It would've been interedting to see how much you make from affillitates & Patreon as well. Besides filming your videos, the Video editing takes a lot of time. I'm sure you spend a big majority of your time just working.
Amazing how some RUclipsrs make a lot of money & some don't make as much. For example, those creators who sit in front of a camera 📷 & stuff their faces with fast food, then make a lot of money from those videos.

I don't think he gave his total revenue, he makes more than that. He has Patreon subscribers, affiliated marketing, views on older videos, etc. Of course what he posted was the bulk of his revenue.
