I love my mower, this mower is the best mower I’ve owned hands down, switched from Toros to Honda and I don’t regret it Personally I mulch the leaves up on to the turf to organically fertilize my lawn But this method on the video is perfect too Nice video
Seems like the bag holds quite a few leaves too. I have some leave-tracks in the front yard that our sellers abandoned. I raked them out by hand to allow them to dry. Looks like I should be able to suck them up in one pass!
@@KirbyVacuumCollectorFixer but if I adjust the height on the front and back wheels it won’t cut the grass to much and focus more on bagging the leaves ?
How hard is it pulling this mower backwards if you need to mow around some obstacles? It looks like a very nice mower been watching alot of videos on and considering buying one.
I have both an HRR and an HRX. The HRX is a beast, however I use my old HRR for vacuuming leaves. That’s the one thing the HRR does better than the HRX.
@@jmljml5065 HRR 216 VKA from 2005 or so. It was actually annoying to use because it vacuums so well, I’d have to empty the bag at 5 minute intervals. Now I use it exclusively for vacuuming. I edge my sidewalk and then use the HRR to clean up the sidewalk. For comparison, I probably can mow for 15 mins using the HRX before the bag is full.
@@beb1527 I get hammered with leaves in the fall. I'm looking for something that will help in that regard. I'm thinking with the Honda I could run over them using the rear discharge, then go over them again with the bag. Have you tried that technique? Thank you.
@@jmljml5065 I don’t get so many leaves where I live now. When I used to live in my old house we had leaves 6 inches deep in places . I didn’t bother to bag them, I just used side discharge (the HRR has an accessory that hooks up where the bag goes to shoot the debris to the side) to more evenly distribute the chopped leaves throughout the lawn. I’d follow that by mulching 2x and that helped them almost disappear into the lawn. Do you have an HRX? The instructions have a setting for leaves that is somewhere between full bagging and full mulching. I’m sure you know, but choose the driest day (no dew) you can to mow, and results will be better.
@@KirbyVacuumCollectorFixer thanks so much . Everyone is sold out and Honda won’t have any til next season so I’ll keep a eye open for Black Friday sales later

It is insane how well it does of vacuuming leaves. Love my Honda!!!!
This thing is a monster. I had the EGO twin blade before this and it struggled to mulch leaves well. This Honda does a great job.
Works great, but I started mulching with this mower and it has improved my lawn. No emptying bags either. The mulch is much finer to decompose.
I love honda lawnmowers alot

how high do you have your,s set ? at 3 1/2 mine won,t bag very well
Sounds so good.
Are you just pushing it without engaging the clutch? Just curious. Was watching this and your review before buying one.
Awesome mower. I love mines.
I have a Honda model HRX2175VKA will I be able to do the same thing this mower is doing with mine ?
Yes you can bag leaves with the VKA. You just can’t shut the blades off while leaving the engine in idle while emptying.
@@KirbyVacuumCollectorFixer Ok so if the blades keep running will the mower cut the grass at the same time it’s bagging the leaves
@@Henroc15
Yeah it cuts the grass and bags the leaves. It won’t bag leaves or do anything without the blades spinning.

Good work, Thom!

I’ve found it to really easy to maneuver and pull back if needed. You won’t regret buying one of these.
At all and what he said!
I'm still waiting for my leaves to drop. I may mulch them.

Hey! When you were growing your grass seed, did you have any problems with the leaves as the grass was growing? How did the deal with the leaves?
I planted my grass in the spring when leaves are not a problem.
What store did u buy it from ? I’ve never seen them on sale but will look for a Black Friday sale .
I had gotten it from Home Depot. But Lowe’s sells them too.
