  • HELLO FRIENDS! Wow has it been awhile. I have missed you :)
Coming on here to do a little ramble, see if I can get my sea-legs back.
Take a look at the chapter markers below to jump around this meandering video. I cover a quick skincare update, some basic advice on tax-advantaged accounts and investing, tiktok, how lame millennials are, kids, and burnout!
0:26 - general blah blahs update
    2:20 - skincare quicky
4:14 - investing rehashed, retirement accounts
7:30 - tiktok and how lame millennials are
9:12 - ruminating on what a tough time it is for parents
    11:13 - burnout
P.S. the Gallant vodka is very tasty. And by tasty, I mean non-tasty (what the vodka drinkers want).

Such a fan of your content :) Would love a video on red light therapy but also videos that are just a mixed bag like this one, with you sharing things you learned or sharing interesting things from tiktok and reddit. Also a video on how to take care of future you would be interesting :)

So nice to see you post again. I definitely enjoy your pragmatic approach to life. I think that it's very helpful to see other women who enjoy some luxuries of life, but also like keeping some things simple (like your beauty routine) and also who are thoughtful in investing/financial life. I find in motivating as well as paints a more realistic view for a lot of us that try to more aware of the tradeoffs we are making with our time and money choices.

🙌!! I am now firmly happily middle aged and while I didn’t always make all the right choices, I am glad young me was a little bit thoughtful about old me.
I think it was on TikTok but I saw someone recommend thinking about the future you a lot more actively. The more you bring future you to life, the more likely it is for current you to work toward that. For me right now, I’m mostly concerned about future me’s health. So yeah- working out (which I hate) more! Must. Build. Muscle!

I really enjoyed your money/finance videos, so I'm sad to hear you delisted them but glad to see you're posting again!
Thoughts on contributing to/maxing 401k (RRSP in Canada) if you have a defined benefit government pension already?
I'm hesitant because of potentially being in a higher tax bracket due to the pension, when it comes time to withdraw.. but also I could be missing out on 20+ years of compounding..
I already have my IRA (TFSA in Canada) maxed, and plan to continue doing so.

Omg I’ve been obsessed about retirement too! So many RUclipsrs spend way too much skincare and I don’t think they’re investing for the future

Yup! Everyone has their vices :) and I think harder than ever especially if you’re younger to not be influenced by need to keep up with the Joneses given social media. On the other hand, more education than ever so hopefully for younger ppl the influence can be balanced :)

Yay! Always nice to see an update from you. Glad you’re doing well. I also don’t know how my friends with young kids cope! Admire them a lot but I know it is not for me. I have my hands full with my cat. 😂
Would love to hear you discuss your investing strategy. I do some but probably not enough.

OMG! Hi Jo. YOU ARE MISSED! I'm glad to watch this life update. Is investing a 401K 100% in S & P a good idea if you have less than 10 yrs. to retire?

    • @LogicvsLuxury
      @LogicvsLuxury  4 месяца назад

Hi! I think so and I am! Not exactly in S&P only but in similar broad indices. I am planning to be “retired” within 10 years for sure so have decided I have enough risk tolerance for that. Some considerations you may want to consider is having enough cash to sustain a bit of a bear market. The US is no where near the situation Japan was in when they crashed so I’m not worried about a 30yr bear market. I am worried about a few years though. Not suggesting you need 5 years of cash on hand but having maybe 1 year of cash so you’re not forced to sell everything at bad losses is not a bad idea.
