    Was wondering how you diagnosed it to be a faulty sensor and not something else? Did you test the sensor?

    Don't take the rear bracket off, just take nuts off. Don't take fuel rail bolts loose on lower intake, just 8mm bolts.

    Will this fix my oil pressure reading being in the 90s? I talked to the dealership and they’re trying to say the whole oil pump needs to be replaced. I’m pretty sure it’s just the sensor but they’re saying there’s also a sensor attached to the oil pump and it’s most likely that one. It’s not throwing any codes. It’s just reading high oil pressure and then it slowly goes away. Once the car has been running for a few minutes.

    Do the intake manifold and lower intake manifold o rings need to be replaced during this process? Can the o rings be reused if not damaged?

    • @ChrisMYouTube
      @ChrisMYouTube  5 лет назад +1

      Yes but if they are really hard or look like they are kind of flat then you may want to consider replacing them. You can cause a leak and possible rough idle and/or misfire

      Yea you definitely need to get that checked out that’s not good. There is a recall on the boosters for the grand Cherokee so you need to see if your vehicle is related or covered under that recall.

    • @ChrisMYouTube

      Ram 1500 if it’s the 5.7L v8 Hemi it’s easier. Not much special tools required just need a oil sensor socket or socket large enough to fit completely over sensor. And it’s on the front of the engine towards passenger side.

    Do you have to replace the gaskets on the intake manifold?

    • @ChrisMYouTube
      @ChrisMYouTube  5 лет назад +1

      No but it is recommended because the gaskets will tear or if there is a lot of miles and age the gaskets will crack or break. And will cause a leak from the manifold

      @waynekensicki4601 5 лет назад +1

      Thanks buddy I got the gaskets and I'm starting this today. I'm a plumber not a mechanic so we will see if an old fat plumber can pull this off. Thank you so much for the video.

      So usually I'd start off with a smart-ass comment like the reason your mechanic is cuz you're too stupid and lazy to be a plumber. I will save that for the electrician's on job sites. Your a baller. I won't tell you how long it took me to get that damn Bolt from behind the intake valve. Putting it back together was a lot easier then taking it apart. I got it done and test-drove everything seems to be good. We live in the mountains now my wife can start her car from inside and I can monitor the oil pressure. Can't thank you enough Chris. And thanks for responding earlier. Seriously my wife is so happy. Just can't thank you enough buddy.

      It is similar minus the brackets are slightly different. And the air duct is different on the vans there is a push pin on top of the intake that has to be removed to completely remove the air duct.

    I have a problem in Jeep Grande Cherokee Laredo in the motor 3.6L, there’s a noise in the lifters, do you happen to know why?

    • @ChrisMYouTube
      @ChrisMYouTube  6 лет назад

      The 3.6L engine is known to have failures with the Lifters and rocker arms. Which leads to failures of the camshaft lobes/camshaft. Also changing your oil with the proper grade and doing so on time helps as well. The 3.6L engine also will give a noise after the vehicle has sat for extended periods without cranking and driving. If not taken care of when an issue arises it will start to run rough and be very noisy.

    How did you remove that stud from the back left of the bottom bracket? I’ve been trying to get that thing out all day today and I can’t break it from the plastic clip to loosen the nut even more. I’ve got the nut to about the middle of that stud and that took me long enough and finally gave up here when daylight started to fade.

    • @ChrisMYouTube
      @ChrisMYouTube  5 лет назад

      There is a plastic clip over the threads remove that clip. And you’ll need a 13mm deep well socket. A 1/4” drive will probably be better due to the lack of space.

    • @amp3225
      @amp3225 5 лет назад

      Chris M. So the plastic clip as to be removed and the nut has to come completely off the ~2 inch stud? I’m thinking that’s correct but just trying to gain as much information before I keep busting my hands up again tomorrow lol

    • @ChrisMYouTube
      @ChrisMYouTube  5 лет назад

      Yes. The clip has to be removed to gain access to the stud so you can remove the bolt/stud. Also a set of stubby ratcheting wrenches helps. Being as it is a pretty tight space

ECU is still showing regular engine oil pressures so I don't even know why I threw this code but as long as the engine is getting the proper oil it needs, I don't need to go through all that just to replace some electrical nanny. I'll just program it out.

      @NeoB-Lac 6 лет назад

      They said it’s by the oil filter ?

    • @ChrisMYouTube
      @ChrisMYouTube  6 лет назад

      Average guys channel as seen in the video it’s at the back of the oil cool housing. If doing this yourself make sure you get the upper intake manifold gaskets. You can get just the pressure sensor separate.

    • @ChrisMYouTube
      @ChrisMYouTube  6 лет назад +1

      Yes it is by the oil filter. The oil filter on the 3.6 is a paper(cartridge style) oil filter. It is made into the oil cooler which is located under the upper intake manifold. Which has to be removed in order to access the sensor. There is no other way to do it. Again the sensor is located at the back of the oil cooler it requires a special sensor socket to remove the sensor. Unless you want to remove the whole oil cooler which requires much more work.

      The point I'm making is ALLDATA step #1 IS removing the intake.
      If you can get around that then you make more $$. The ALLDATA labor time for the upper manifold is .09. How does that make sense??

    • @dreamer2355
      @dreamer2355 5 лет назад

      Brian Bonaventura we use mitchell and sometimes identifix to verify labor times. You will be surprised of the difference. Thats an issue with Alldata, or Chrysler found out us techs can complete the job without removing the intake reducing labor times and alldata not updating their procedure.
